I’ve been in that situation before with an auger . So I took the hitch off and mounted one set of bucket holes to the dipper arm. Then the other spare bucket ears will receive the auger. So the bucket ears act solely as a double bracket. The crowd bone holes onto the dipper. Then the auger onto the dipper holes. It got the job done without welding a bracket.
Have you thought about going with a rotational spring sown SFI option Olly? We're going NUM3 - derisk strategy as guaranteed income, rotate it annually or biannually as a break crop, build soil carbon and legume based so N should be fixed and to a degree stored in a non soluble form.

That chipper looked alot cheaper to maintain than the one you currently have, and looks like it does a much better job and quicker too, alot smaller, seems like a win win all round
50% today suffering the many symptoms of Parkinson's disease,we had heavy rain all day followed by strong winds. Great video as always, just a thought but could you stock pile the green waste and have that guy come say once a week and do the chipping for you as a contract then you wouldn't have to spend a fortune on a replacement

Hi olly. I was thinking rather than looking at chippers for your boiler a horizontal grinder might be better suiter, they are used often for creating mulch but also used for chipping bulk bio mass for use in power plants by changing the screen
New Forest SW Hampshire light drizzly rain for virtually all day. A type of rain that can cause damage eventually with rust by blowing in open sheds. Also breezy, bit not as bad as a lot of the country. Chipper looks impressive.

The valtras have 2 oil tanks on them, one for rear spools, the other for transmission, brakes and steering. We run 2 trailers with 4 stage cylinders and the valtra has to be brim full on the gauge in the steps to tip them up without it beeping low oil.
Easier to get a fitting and pump and pump it in through the free flow return, this also filters the oil going into the tank. No need to remove anything either. Hope this helps
that chipper is a bit of kit, does it pay to have a crane mounted or feed it with the 360, of course with the crane you would then need to have a rear facing tractor but it would also be able to do field work, just aware how expensive everything is now so it has to pays its way as much as possible
Nice shredder for contract work but you guys are mainly in one place. Still think a jenz or a bandit beast shredder is better suited for shredding green waste than a chipper. Chippers cost a lot more to look after in green waste. Solid hammers in a shredder are far cheaper to change

That's a seriously good chipper chomped through that lot with ease . Don't know what farmers are going to do about crops going forwards even in an average year your getting events that are affecting crops very badly but this past 12 months you've had it all too hot and dry, too much rain, slugs, pigeons and flea beatles it's difficult to know where farmers go from here
Notice that on Harrys Farm that he has decided to ditch OSR due to all the issues you have had. He has moved to the government scheme to put various seeds in and not plant food. He couldn't take the losses. I presume that is something you are considering as he can at least then budget on a fixed return for those fields for the next few years and not look at a loss.
I feel for you olly with the osr time and money wasted due to weather conditions and also nervous of the supply and cost of food for the same reasons you are an essential producer we all have to eat and have proper nutrition, cost may prohibit some family's from getting the right nutrition in the future with an uncertain season we all should back our local producers as best we can don't think it's just a farmers problem we all need to play a part your blogs are a very important part of this brining it to our living rooms

Slow to fill them through the cap behind the steps as well.
