      @@astro.turtIe Thanks a lot i have another question do i have to cut the traces on my motherboard to make this mod working?

    • @astro.turtIe
      @astro.turtIe  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Evilslayer73 No, not at all. Those traces were cut on my motherboard from someone who had tried to do a mod previously. The cuts are needed if you want solder in a switch so you can swap between RF and s-video. I don't care about RF so I left the cuts as they were. Leaving the traces intact will not affect the d-video mod.

    Hello I have followed your instructions exactly and I even added the blue wires just in case they were needed and I am getting nothing. Is there anything that could cause any other problems

      Hi! Sorry to hear that... Is video and audio working via RF? Are you not getting any signal (even audio) from the mods you made? Can you link to some pics of the work you've done so far? I'll compare it to what I have mine.

      @@astro.turtIe before the mod the video and audio from the original RF was not working, now I did just hook up the video just to test. Could it be that the audio lines have to be hooked up as well for the mod to work?

      @@frankieoneil2962 No, the audio lines will be separate from video. They don't need to be hooked up together to test.

      @@frankieoneil2962 Unfortunately I wasn't able to access the pics. iCloud says the "note is unavailable".
      However if you were having issues with getting and image via RF before the mod, there seems to be a bigger underlying problem with the Atari. In one of my other videos I show where to check audio directly on the POKEY chip. Perhaps you can use that to determine if the 400 is working at all?
      Here are links to technical docs for the Atari 400. They list all of the chips used inside the 400 and their pinouts, so you can check if they are working as expected.

    Hello friend, I did all the steps and it didn't work, I bought the same components of the video and the Atari 400 didn't give me a picture, before making the modification when I turned it on it gave flashes of green screen, but after I made the video modification it didn't work for me. Does it give any image, do I have to solder the blue cables too? on the card, that might be why the Atari doesn't give me an image when I turn it on.

      Hi! Not sure what is going on there, but it's unusual that you were getting green screen flashes before doing the mod. It might be that something was already wrong with the Atari, and this mod won't fix that. I would undo the mod and try and troubleshoot the screen flashes first.
      I did a quick google search for "Atari green screen" and it returned a lot of pages with people describing the same issue. There's a lot of good info on this Reddit post:
      www.reddit.com/r/atari/comments/16eosuu/how_to_diagnose_atari_400_green_screen/
      Unfortunately, it seems the issue could be anything from a faulty chip to a bad power supply... You'll need to do some troubleshooting to figure it out. Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful. :(
