ICELAND RING ROAD: Hofn to Egilsstaðir - Vestrahorn, Eystrahorn, Summer Pass

In the summer of 2022, we headed out on an 821 mile circumnavigation of Iceland. Our original plan was to travel in 2020 but COVID19 postponed our adventure.
This video covers our travel from Hofn to Egilsstaðir. Along the way we stopped Vestrahorn, Eystrahorn, Hvalnes Lighthouse at Eystrahorn and drove over Summer Pass (Öxi Pass / Route 939) to get to our AirBnb.
Our goal is capture fun moments of past adventures so that we can look back and reminisce about our experiences together. So many special moments get filed away in memory only to fade over time. We hope that you find your own special moments.
We are two transplants from east of the Rockies who love to go on adventures exploring beautiful vistas and hidden gems.

There use to be an USAF radar site there but we could not go into town as the government there did not like americans there. It is now a whale tracking site.

You are too close to their nesting site. The we poop on you and come down a peck you. Stay away from nesting sites.

I didn't notice the birds at Vestrahorn, but Eystrahorn was a different story. I didn't know there were nesting sites there at Eystrahorn, but it now makes sense why they were upset.
