What I think would be a much better fanfic idea would be something, maybe set in the Middle Ages, that brings demigods and saints (their Christian equivalents, well, sort-of) together. Maybe there's some conflict between them initially, but then somehow they join forces to fight against a common threat together.
Okay, this fic has got obvious flaws, but some logical issues bug me in particular. First of all, the thing that Percy and Annabeth can't be demigods and Christians at the same time, that those two are somehow contradictory. Sam is a daughter of Loki, a valkyrie and muslim and it is never depicted as something that's inherantly contradicting each other. And the monsters were still able to smell her and attacked her, even if she was not pagan. (Following this logic, Magnus shouldn't have been attacked either, as he was an atheist) Yes, this technically is Norse mythology and might work a bit different than Greek mythology, but I highly doubt it would make a big difference. I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt though and assume they haven't read the Magnus Chase series. Second, Hazel was (kinda?) raised Christian. Yes, Hazel's mother didn't really teach Hazel Christianity but she was taught by nuns which kinda counts I guess? Also, she did say that she still had dyslexia, which would also contradict the statement with Percy's dyslexia weakening. So yeah. I can endure some bad plot and/or writing, but plot holes such as these are my biggest pet peeve.
@@ResaChiic ^^ yes, both of them were 20-30's kids so they would have been raised religious. Plus Maria knew Hades was a god (and of the underworld too) yet she raised her children as Catholic while not viewing Hades as some demon from hell
@@LivesInHerBooks yknow thats a very very interesting lore question. in ToA its confirmed that "every mythology" exists. the only one that doesnt seem to exist in Riordan verse is Jesus/god (altho i also havent read MCGA yet). And i'm very curious to see if they ever end up getting involved lololol
I’m a very religious Christian, like i read my Bible and try to avoid fowl language, but not everyone has to be. Making a fanfic about these fictional characters in a GREEK MYTHOLOGY book turn Christian is just… not the Christian way. Also, in the first pjo book it was said by Chiron that Jesus and God did exist, and that the gods were less powerful than they were. So the author didn’t even have reason to write this lol.
