My wife and I watched your video three times because we LOVE that ship!! We are going in November. Your video is the best one we've seen yet! My parents are considering going on a cruise for the first time, and they are concerned about the motion. Also, about all the kids. But your video shows the peace and quiet you can have in certain areas.... Especially Quiet Cove. And our favorite spot on Castaway Cay..... Serenity Bay!! We are going to show them your video tonight!! Thank you!!
Great camera work. Very enjoyable. We just returned from our first Disney cruise - the 3-night Bahama cruise (with Castaway Cay, of course) on the Disney Dream. Loved it so much, we've already booked the 7-night Western Caribbean cruise next March!!!
Dan: Thanks. You're right. I've had lots of people ask about the kids on a Disney cruise, and they're usually pleasantly amazed at the amount of quiet areas. I loved the Fantasy. Despite the size, it was laid out in such a way that there were a lot of small, semi-private, quiet areas for adults. I hope you convince your parents to go. I think they'll become addicted very quickly.
we went in mid October. The ship was actually sold out but it's laid out in lots of small areas so you never feel like it's overcrowded. That was a concern of mine too, since we had been on the smaller Magic and Wonder. I use the Panasonic TM900. Good quality, and small size make it great to carry around.
Josh. Everyone reacts differently. All of the big ships have stabilizers to lessen the effects of rough seas, but,...it's still possible to feel it. Neither my wife nor I experienced any sea sickness, but,..dramamine patches are available for anyone who feels ill. I believe they're available free on board, at the ship's dispensary, and they're very effective . If you ever get a chance to go, give it a try. I think you'll love it.
Hi Mark. Much of the ship is designed for children, as you'd expect. However, there are a lot of areas (decks, pools, bars, nightclubs, coffee shop) that are set aside for adults, 18+. They were children-free, and very peaceful. I'm not sure whether infants are allowed in the adult pool areas, but, I didn't see any. I'd check with Disney. If that's not an issue for you, there are many areas that are adult-only.
Congrats,..you'll love it. Yes -- all food on board,...and at Castaway Cay is included....breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. There's a modest charge per person,...IF you want to dine at Palo or Remy instead of your regular dinner -- but -- that's totally voluntary. (By the way,..worth it, I think, if that kind of thing interests you) Have a great time.
Yes. They only did the entire collection, back to back -- once during the week...but..they warned ahead of time it was coming, so, I had the camera running.
great video, is breakfast and lunch included? or do you have to pay? we are sailing in a few weeks with the Fantasy for our honeymoon, any information would be greatful! :)
Hi there, great video :-) We're thinking of doing this for our honeymoon (we will have a 5/6 month old baby with us). Do you think it will be ok to do this and is it over the top with kids on-board? I mean is there fun for adults without having being made to dance on the spot lol
I actually got up about 6 a.m. to take a lot of the video. The decks were almost empty at that point, but, it never seemed overly crowded -- even mid day.
i've been thinking about taking a cruise. I've never been on a cruise and I have a fear of getting sea sick. Did you feel any turbulence or sea sickness?
