@@carlubetvI've got the same car, I don't know if I have missed it in your other videos but engine maintenance Fuel pump cam follower Turbo diverter valve Pcv valve. Not expensive maybe £80 ish each and not difficult to do at home.
@ I haven’t had to do any maintenance things on the new car yet, as it was freshly serviced including timing chain water pump and guides. But I will bear these things in mind, thanks 🙏
Absolutely gorgeous cars that practically beg you to drive them hard in 2.0TSi and R form, unfortunately if they are driven hard over a long period then... I have a 2009 2.0tsi GT with 10 years dedicated VW service history and a couple of patchy years in between, only problems I've had are replacing a couple of ignition coils and my DCC snesor is damaged. Apart from that amazing bang-for-buck. (tax can be hefty, if that's a concern).
@@RayVothney thanks for watching the vid, my silver car was 2009. As I said in the video it was faultless because it was looked after. As long as you look after it, you can abuse it as well.
@carlubetv ah man, mines a Scirocco GT 2l silver 54k probably should get my tensioner done as a preventative measure 🤞 silver lining tho your R looks great 💪
@ your car is much younger, in fact, when I bought my R, the previous owner had just done water pump and tensioner, which I was thrilled about. Thanks mate, I must say I prefer the R.
@ as I said in the video it was regularly serviced. The problem was the snapped timing chain guides. These are made from nylon and can go brittle over time.
There's something to be said for the older ea113 engine ( like the 1 in your Scirocco r) they have a cambelt which is much easier for maintenance.
@@Tagomago12 I have heard this before, when I bought my new R, it just had the Cambell maintenance and water pump done, thank fxck lol

@@carlubetv Thanks Lube. I can't wait until I sober up and take her for a ride! TopMan
what was the mileage before the timing went?

@@carlubetvthink the biggest question is what was the oil change intervals?
