    Got my 1st order 200g set, waiting for my 120g set. Looks like a very productive lure. Was really surprised by how affordable they were. Also didnt know that this is how you rig them so thanks. Trying them on rock cod & ling cod in NCal.

    Great video!! thanks. What's the strength of the braid and the leader (lbs) that you would use in a depth of 100meters?

    Can you cast this lure out then wind slowly after it hits the bottom to cover more ground? Or should you only fish them completely vertical?

      Sure - on an angle can work well, just not say 45degrees :)

    Surely even using a leftys loop , Istill have to cut that off when changing to a different colour?

    • @CatchFishingTackle
      @CatchFishingTackle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment - you can if you do it this way: Tie the lefties loop by itself first so you have a looped end of your leader. Then poke this loop through the loop of the braid assist cord of the Kabura, open the leader loop and pass over all of the kabura....this will end up as a loop to loop between the leader and kabura assist cord. To undo - push the two loops apart. :)

    Any recommendations on how to prevent getting tangled in kelp at the bottom?

    • @CatchFishingTackle
      @CatchFishingTackle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The very small hooks should pull out of a lot of kelp snags - the hooks are designed to lip hook fish only so only grab a small section of kelp - usually pulls out. Also depending on the depth of water, try not to drift much/through kelp as the lure works best when vertically retrieved. If you know the depth to of the top of the kelp, using coloured/metred braid helps so you can drop down to the depth just above the area. I hope this helps. Cheers, Espresso.

      @@CatchFishingTackle Good and FAST advice! I was out in Northland NZ this past summer and lost a similar style lure in the kelp. Didn't have a finder on the dinghy though, so next time will be different. Cheers

    • @CatchFishingTackle
      @CatchFishingTackle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JoeyT80 Thanks - I thought that's what you meant :) . Generally, try to avoid putting scent and fish bait strips on the lures as this tends to attract smaller fish to come in and take a bite. However there's nothing like adjusting to the conditions at the time and place as a fisherm'n, I have heard of anglers adding a tiny, thin strip of squid with success in the depths of winter.
