What a great video! Idk how long you've been doing pours and blooms, but I started like mid 2019. I watched soo many videos from different creators and was inspired! But my goodness, you needed 50 different (pricey!) ingredients, had to have a PhD in blowing, stirring, and tilting, or your creation just wasn't going to look good. Garrick, I have THOUSANDS of dollars in supplies, and guess what? A YEAR AND A HALF LATER, HERE COMES MR GARRICK TO BLOW ALL THAT NONSENSE OUT THE WINDOW. 😂 I kid you not friend, my blooms have NEVER looked as good as they have since I discovered your channel. I'm kinda mad about it lol Either other artists never experimented with simple ingredients, or it was supposed to be a hobby for the cool rich kids 🤷🏼‍♀️. I am so very grateful for you and your content, and I honestly hope more people find your channel. 🥰

YOU are such a good teacher!!! I have been acrylic pouring for over 2 yrs. I sure could’ve benefited from YOU when I first started. I love all methods, blooming is such fun. I’ve learned from YOU today!!! Would’ve never thought to try artist loft flow as a pillow!!! Brilliant minds are those that can not only think outside of the box but those that just leave the box all together!!!! Appreciate your time, humor, tips and tricks. You are just great. Your video editing is awesome! I’m too lazy to create a TH-cam art channel. Lol or maybe I just want to paint instead!! Haha
I mix my pillow with some GAC 800. Like 1/4 cup to 4 cups of pillow paint. It really helps with the crazing.

This video was so enlightening! I've been experimenting with thinner paints for blooms and gotten REALLY interesting results (actually my favorite two modified blooms that I've done) and this has helped me understand those results so thank you very much for that. I did want to comment that if you're using a house paint as a pillow and you're using water to thin it you have to be careful to not add too much for the paint itself to handle or the pigments will break down - learned this the hard way by randomly picking a house paint that was super duper thick. Thank you so much for this info! And it's always wonderful to see your gorgeous smile and your beautiful spirit!

@@GarrickBrownArtStudio Going well but slightly slowed due to hubs randomly deciding to strip the 60 year paint off our cupboards and stain them (and I am WOWED at the results so far, giving me yet another reason to adore him lol) - we have to trade off time due to sawdust and such, and I'm helping but tonight I start something I'm hoping to give my dad for father's day that I'm pretty geeked about. You know me and my multiple-step pours lol. Heard the frogs unthaw a couple nights ago which means spring is here in Michigan so I'm more pumped than ever to get my actual studio done!

Thanks Garrick. I have been using Aussie Floetrol 50% with house paint 50%. It is gluckie. Added some water as well today, and stirred it more. The consistency seems better. We'll see. I'm seeing where some artists are just skipping the pillow completely, ok I guess for small stuff. Anyway, I guess it's just a matter of experimenting . like you. So will keep on keepin' on. I haven't done tiles, mostly canvas. And not totally comfortable with the The Bloom, Swipe works sometimes. I like the idea of putting ones energy into the piece, with the breath. Anyway Thank you heaps. Marty

It is tricky... even my recipes changed depending on the season but you are definitely on the right track. Small changes, not big ones is key. Much love to you!!

Thank you! I've heard it helps to lift up the tile and let it drop a little to bring out the air bubbles in the pillow

This is an excellent video Garrick! So much good info; beautiful work; great editing and of course the pillows at the beginning cracked me up. My only suggestion is for your last puff that goes straight down to the tile-if you wait a few minutes the pillow paint will collect under that middle section so you can then tilt everything in unison so it doesn’t roll over itself. Bravo!!

I am definitely letting my pillow rest now. It really does help. Thanks again for the love shown my friend! ❤

I thank you again for your wonderful explanation of things. I fear the bloom and me may never meet face to face, I've been trying multiple methods of my own experiments, following others tutorials. The funny thing is I may have figured out one major problem, I've never been one to blow straight like could never blow out candles on a cake. My aim is so off. So i might be setting my pour up for failure due to air flow going where it shouldn't. Alas, not to figure that out.

Try making a some thick bubbles with dish detergent and practice blowing on the bubbles. Sometimes it's necessary to practice over and over in order to find out how to use our mouth for this particular blow. With the bubbles you won't have to over work your lungs and you can concentrate more on how to shape your lips.🥰
