Tested today YT on wifi is so fast.! And audio is very impressive.. 👍
💯 agree, definitely a phone that’s good value for money
Brilliant review - just the level of detail I needed - thanks.
Thank you and you’re most welcome! I’m glad it was of help and you enjoyed 👍
I just bought mine for eur. 79.00 here in the Netherlands as a quick fix replacement.
It really is not bad for the money.
Thanks for a great review. Well done!
Thanks for this review! - i have one coming now after easter! greetings from Sweden, Levi
You do such a great job on production, really well done. Informative and thorough. Thanks for the review. I've just ordered one and wanted some more complete information about the phone. Your video is just what was needed. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found the review helpful. Enjoy your new Moto E13 👍
I can’t wait for mine I’m getting today thank you for this review it’s really helpful 🙂
Thank you? I’m glad you found it helpful. Hope you enjoy your new phone 👍
Nice informative review, thank you.
Very comprehensive review & nicely slowly spoken (thank you!!). I see this is available from Tesco UK with SIM included at very bargain prices.
Thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful. Yes there are some very good prices around for the phone.
Informative review, thanks.
Glad it was helpful, appreciate the feedback, thank you!
Its amazing thatvthis entry phone has better speakers, screen and battery than the Iphone pro max
Entry phones are very underrated in a lot of cases. The Moto E13 is a very good phone for the price and very capable
@typicaltechlad I agree, lately I am fixed into buying low budget / entry phones.. and I already have a collection too. It is really amazing how a phone like the Moto E or G series can have so many high quality features and build which is now becoming my favorite quite lately in using it for other tasks like browsing, TH-cam, social media.
My carrier locked (Optus) E13 came with the February update from the factory and I easily updated to the June security update.
good job mate ! keep the good work please.
Thank you! I hope to do exactly that
Great review thanks
Thank you, glad you enjoyed
Dont forget to include support and updates for the phones your reviewing..
I got the 4/64 version of this phone, and I'm in love with it. It wasn't very expensive, which is great for my budget. Besides, it has great performance and hasn't lagged a single moment. I also find its layout and menu very clean and nice-looking. I don't know about the 2/32 version of it, but I've heard people didn't like it much, specially its performance. If I'm not mistaken, the 64GB internal storage version comes with 4GB RAM and not 2GB RAM. Only the 32GB internal storage version comes with 2GB RAM. 🙂
Ta fer this. Looking at this model today as a replacement / upgrade for both me and my mum. Looks like its solid for us both so went ahead and ordered them! Cheers! :)
No worries mate, hope the phone serves you and your mum well, thanks for the comment 👍
@@typicaltechlad for me its worked out well. phone is mostly a necessity. daily use minimal, so on a single charge im getting 1-2 weeks (primarily use web on the desktop). Did have to turn off a lot of shit to get that battery running right though.
Great advice 👍🏼
You are most welcome, glad it helped 👍🏽
Got mine on Tuesday great phone 📱
Hi Colin, I'm thinking of buying one tomorrow. How has your phone been since you started using it? Thanks
@@ianmillar1139 I'm thinking of buying one soon, did the poster reply to you?
Looking at getting one for £70 from Argos and this review has helped a lot. Thank you.
Me too - just reserved mine online from Argos. Its a decent phone and will suit my simple needs
You’re welcome, glad it helped and I hope the phone serves you well
How are you finding it so far? Thanks
@@blahblahblah8003 How are you finding it so far? Thanks
just bought one great review thanks.
Awesome! Hope it serves you well & I’m glad you enjoyed the review, thank you 🙏🏽
@@typicaltechlad Any other large screen reliable phone you can recommend in same price range with 5g?
I'm told I can't use my Sony experia from next month as it doesn't have 4g 5g.
Hi Dave, I don’t think there any phones in that price range that support 5g, none that I’m aware of anyhow (they start normally around £130+). However if you’re okay with 4g then there are a good range, you can check some of them out here: www.bestproductsreviews.co.uk/smartphone-under-100?targetid=aud-925617333489:kwd-303147952068&matchtype=e&device=m&campaignid=12131417181&creative=548975824459&adgroupid=133106289972&feeditemid=&loc_physical_ms=1006897&loc_interest_ms=&network=g&devicemodel=&placement=&keyword=$best%20smartphone%20under%20100&target=&aceid=&adposition=&trackid=uk_all_top_11_1&mId=407-132-4411&trackOld=true&gclid=CjwKCAjwzo2mBhAUEiwAf7wjkp9_8Q1sjo28O8d4zRbZZOKMkrhpU0HMFaGXNxWIrs4uu6hzwHoNDxoCWEkQAvD_BwE
Bought mine yesterday from Argos, impressive smart phone for the price.
Whats your verdict, I've heard it crashes sometimes?
I'm thinking of replacing my Sony experia which unfortunately doesn't support 5g, 4g.
Just got my mom this phone from Argos she only wanted a cheap phone so this is fine for her needs 😊
I'm using this as spare phone and I'm surprised how good it is for £80 in UK ... Slightly laggy but not really bad...
💯 really good value for money!
I'm thinking of getting this phone to replace my Sony experia as it doesn't support 5g or 4g. What would be your advice, you say it's laggy, could you explain more?
@@daveoliver5838 if you have to many apps open its starts to pause up... So my advice is to constantly kill apps that your not using so Keep it running smoothly... Also battery life really good on this phone to I to forget mention
I have Moto e 2020 midnight blue and it’s amazing
Haven’t used that phone personally but I’ve heard good things about it
Hi I've just bought this phone, is the only way to see notifications at the top of the phone ? no red dots or missed call banners etc ? TIA
Got this today, had trouble connecting it to the internet, despite it connected to our router. Turned out it didnt like the low IP setting, had to be a higher number. Weird issue, but since it connected its been fine. Good price for what you get tbh
A helpful review, very detailed (I have to confess, much of which went over my head...) But I think the verdict was generally favourable.
Well I am glad it was helpful to you 👍 and yes you are right, the verdict was definitely favourable, it is a good smartphone without a doubt
@@typicaltechlad I've never owned a smart phone but my wife keeps nagging me to get one. The trouble is, there are so many options and deciding between them is confusing. I really don't want to spend s fortune on something I don't anticipate using very much. Thanks for the review... I'll have to make a decision at some stage.
I have an e20 with a bugged tactile screen , how is it on this one ?
In India it's available in 4gig variant too. but still i bought 2gig cause i can't handle my college stuff and personal stuff in one so it's a good deal overall considering latest android 13 go over the realme c30 with ufs 2.1 storage but no type-c
does it make phone calls ? , I wish reviewers would cover this & the quality of call .
That’s a very good point 🙂 I’ll be sure to include call quality in any future phone reviews, thanks.
@@typicaltechladthis is proof that lesser known tech reviewers are in the top 💯💯
The clue is in the word smartphone!
What a tool 😂
No body calls anymore they just text
You are really good at reviewing phones. Even though you can clearly afford high end, you don’t come at it with any prejudice against the entry level end of the market, which is unusual and really great to see. May I make a small suggestion. Pull down the notification panel so we can see how it looks. Tell you why. I just bought a tablet I wouldn't have gone anywhere near if I'd seen it's ugly over complicated pull down.
Thank you! I truly appreciate your kind words! I always aim to remain impartial in my reviews no matter the product or price. Your suggestion about showcasing the notification panel is insightful, and I'll make sure to incorporate that in future videos. Thanks again 👍
Its December 2023 now. The E13 costs £69. But the G32 is £99 in Currys brand new. I think its worth the £30 extra.
Bought one a few days ago. Seems the latest software update came with a few bugs and mystery battery drain. Hope Moto patches them up next update as otherwise it is quite a wonderful mobile experience and would highly recommend it - just ignore software update for now lol
Hopefully Motorola do patch it as soon as possible because normal battery life on the phone was amazing. Lol yeah ignore the updates, or first let others test it and then if all good, go ahead and update 😆
@@typicaltechlad well now I'm forced to update untill it gets fixed. Even factory reset didn't remedy the issue. Also, the update causes a bizarre "camera failed to connect" crash on my device (2gb ram, white)😅
Wow you have got it bad by the looks of it, well let’s hope they push out an update soon to fix that. For the camera you could try clearing the camera apps cache or see if there’s an update for it in Play Store?
@@typicaltechlad I did that but no fix. Only powering off and on fixes camera when it happens. Did factory restore and still had the battery drain issue with no other apps installed and without any Google account signed in so I can say for certain that the issue for me was the update. I am guessing that Moto perhaps pushed out an update meant for the 4gb variant e13 to the 2gb variants as well and maybe screwed something up in terms of battery management. Update in question is: TLA33 105-42-42
Yeah it seems it’s definitely something on the software side, might even be worth contacting them to get some sort of idea as to when a fix will be released? Shouldn’t have to be putting up with a bug that’s affecting your battery life that much.
Iv just ordered one to just a shame they didn't add finger print scanner this year like on e20/30 but still looks good k
It is a shame they didn’t add fingerprint scanner, but for the price of the phone I guess they had to cut corners somewhere, still a good phone with good value, thanks for watching & hope yours serves you well
@@typicaltechlad thanks for reply I'll keep u updated getting it today it does look good thanks for your great video k
my uncle who's near 60 years old wanted to get a smartphone so i recommended this to him and for only £60 at Tesco its a bargain for someone whos upgrading from an ancient iPhone 5s he could not believe how large Phone displays have gotten lol
Haha well let’s hope his new phone serves him well ☺️
@@typicaltechlad cheers 🥂
Mine came with a case on it 😊
Nice!
I am buying this, thanks
You’re welcome
Good video brother
Thank you bro
thank you for your video , you showed me what I needed clearly, It is a gift for my father, I have orderd one during the show at 39 € blackfriday ,
Thank you, glad you enjoyed and helped you in your decision. I hope the phone serves your father well and that is a very good price!
as I said just suscribed advice on mens smartwatch with gps for maping my track apreciate low price cheers @@typicaltechlad
How long does it takes to fully charge battery from 0 to 100
With the 10W charger it takes just around 3 hours to charge 0-100
Does this phone support youtube and compatible to download games??
Yes it does support TH-cam and you can download games, this was all covered in the video 👍
Which one is better Moto E13 or Samsung galaxy J7 2016? nice vid btw!
Hi, thank you & I would recommend the e13
would you say that the extra £50 is worth it to buy the g13? Or should i just stick to the e13. I dont care about gaming or camera, just a reliable device for listening / watching videos and social media, as well as reading and editing documents for work
If you’re looking for the basics such as those then I think the e13 will serve you fine, for me personally the g13 has some ‘better’ specs but the e13 was good value for the price without a doubt
Do all android apps work on this phone?
As far as I’m aware yes, as long as the app complies with hardware specifications and the limitations (performance, network, battery) on android Go. I personally was able to download all the apps that I wanted
Does the phone have a built-in MP3 player?
Hi, yes it does, if you do not have a dedicated ‘streaming’ app then audio files will play with the native player
@@typicaltechlad Thank you for your answer.
i dont understand the benefit is of having two sims? can someone explain that for me?
Hi, although I have never used 2 sims in a phone myself, I believe some people use it as one being personal sim one being business? I believe a lot of people who travel abroad frequently use 2nd sim as dedicated international sim. Could be a lot of use cases I guess
If it just had fingerprint scanner it would be perfectly suitable for a lot of people, but i can't recommend a phone that requires authentication methods from 2005 like pattern/password :(
I agree, in this day and age you would expect biometric security as a standard, but I guess they justify it by excluding it based on its price. Would have been the perfect budget phone if it did have it
Does it support 2.4 GHz?
Hi Liam, yes it does, full Wi-Fi specs are: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac | 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz | Wi-Fi hotspot
I bought one of these a few months ago. I really wish I hadn't! It looks nice but struggles to do the most basic things well. It is incredibly slow, and when trying to stream a video it will literally buffer indefinitely and still not load, more often than not!
I've just bought myself a Sony Xperia because I've had as much as I can take with this phone! I will never buy a Motorola again! 🤬
I heard some issues with other network like Airtel, is it true some saying only jio sim support?
Hi VSC, I am unaware of network compatibility outside of the UK, for me I had no problem using sims here. On Motorola’s website it states the following for India:
Network + Bands
INDIA 4G: LTE 1/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41
3G: 1/5/8
2G: 3/5/8
@@typicaltechlad does this support 4G Volte + ?
India!
Can we play high mb games...
Yes you can, in my example for performance I showcase playing call of duty mobile and asphalt 8 which are high MB games
What about the call quality
Hi Veins, call quality was good, not the best but good enough for ease of hearing and also quality for the other person
Hey man. Phone aside. About the review. You're doing a great job with the video and editing quality. B rolls and all. Just wanted to advice you for a bit more energy in the recording, really brightens up the review. :)
Hey bro. Thank you so much for the feedback, you’re 100% right, I need to work on my voiceover, I just need to find my ‘voice’. But for my next review will definitely be switching up. Appreciate it my man 👍
@@typicaltechlad of course. Looking forward to it. Keep it up lad
What!!?? I bought the phone and it was terrible slow. Like a 2 year old phone...terrible!!
Thank you for the wonderful review. But I have a little issue with this, don’t know if you could suggest a solution.
I bought this phone for my son, primarily to connect his Samsung Galaxy 4 watch, but this phone is not compatible to install Galaxy wearables, which is annoying.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed.
Regarding the watch 4 issue, I’m not entirely sure what the solution would be, Samsung claim for the watch 4: “Galaxy Watch4: may not work with all phones running Android 5.0 or higher, in particular Huawei devices” so while this is a bit vague, it could possibly be for this reason? I would google the issue.
Apologies I couldn’t provide you with a direct solution.
It's nice but to connect wifi it's so slow even you are near
Hi, are you referring to actually connecting to the WiFi or the WiFi speed?
@@typicaltechlad both
Good secondary phone. Smooth enough and plenty of battery
💯 agree with that
The phone is good and cheap and does everything u need keeping up with tbe Jones not good two Years down the road that expensive phone is worth 20% it's a con
Is it 5g
Hi Lee, unfortunately not. The phone supports the following:
4G: LTE 1/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41
3G: 1/5/8
2G: 3/5/8
TikTok is not working
I hate this phone. Everytime I open an app it says something like "TH-cam is not responding"
Hey, I cannot say if the phone will actually last that long, but Motorola phones generally have good longevity. From what I can see this phone is built good so yes it may last you at least 4 years or so if looked after properly
I've been using my G5S Plus since 2018, still runs as great as new. I've gained more trust for motorola because of this device.
DOUBLE BLOODY ADS
🥰🫶❤️E 13
Top 10 worst phones oat, Slow and always crashes, dosent even have NFC and it's dead
Terrible phone. Slow, GPU is miserable. TH-cam or Tiktok either lags or crashes. Battery life also sub par. Motorola is really producing trash products these days.
