There’s a distinct echo of a love song from the ‘70s about Agape’s meditative guitar arrangement. The lush sound of a string quartet adds a dreamy quality to the song. Agape refers to the highest form of unconditional love, the type of love we all yearn for.

@@larpingtonboogecke Thanks mate. Always been close to God. I do think my beloved ones are with God now. But I'm here, and it's neither fair nor easy. I have professional help, friends, some family... And our first son who's 13, he is the reason why I'm battling this fight, I want to continue raising him the way my wife wanted. I guess it'll just take time until I fully accept what happened, and let them free. I know they want me happy. We were together for 18 years, best friends not only lovers. She was my smile and my refuge. Have a great rest of the week!

I've considered her my favourite female vocalist for years. Alas, no recording I've heard does justice to what she sounds like live. I've seen her twice on a small solo tour. Just her and her guitar at a small simple venue. Just thinking about it gives me shivers years later. I've never heard anything like that before or since.
Totally agree! I’m addicted to have goosebumps listening to her. I saw Vuur a couple of years ago, and I couldn’t even feel time passing by...

I've listened to so much Anneke has done, from the Gentle Storm, to Vuur, and her independent work. Including her work with the Icelandic group árstíðir (if you like this song, you will love the árstíðir collaboration). I eventually managed to see her live, not an easy thing when you live in Canada and she doesn't! - But much as I enjoy artists like Tarja, and Floor, I can't help thinking that Anneke has something even more special. One of the most versatile artists around, and amazingly friendly to meet in person (either at a VIP session, or waving at her in the street outside a venue!). I think today is a good day to pre-order the album! Thank you for this awesome stuff in these crazy Covid times!!!

Hilversum (Dutch TV and radio broadcasting) ignored for decades terrific female front singers like Anneke van Giersbergen, Charlotte Wessels, Simone Simons, Sharon den Adel, Dianne van Giersbergen, Floor and Irene Jansen, and so on, in the Netherlands because of the metal image they have. Such a shame !, listening to also this beautiful performance from Anneke, these versatile ladies can do anything in the music world.
