The biggest moment of Freddie's career was that homerun in Game 1. If it wasn't for the heartbreak of leaving Atlanta, he would have never experienced that mountaintop moment.
If/when the Dodgers add Sasaki, Kershaw and Treinen they will have a full house when it comes to pitching. 6 starters will be Ohtani, Yamamoto, Glasnow, Snell, Gonsolin and Sasaki (that’s 6 without Kersh). Bullpen figures to be Treinen, Vesia, Banda, Brasier, Phillips, Kopech, and May. Miller, Knack, Casparius, Sheehan, Graterol, Wrobleski, and Henriquez all will likely see the 26 man roster this season. Additionally, Nick Frasso and Jackson Ferris could both make their MLB debuts as well. Not a lot of room at the in to add more guys. I imagine they can add the expected guys and if the injury bug hits again, they can go dudes at the trade deadline to plug in those holes. Go Blue!!!
If the moon was cheese, it would be frozen because there's no heat in space, so that would probably hurt your teeth to bite into. Cheese also relies on oxygen to stay fresh and taste good, so it would probably be pretty gross. So no, I would not. -Blake
Re: the deferrals, note that the team may be setting aside $46M/yr for Ohtani, but they'll be paying him $68M/yr when the deferred payments begin. That means Guggenheim is betting on its ability to turn $460M into $680M in a relatively short time period. I imagine most team owners aren't in a position to accept that kind of risk.
If treinen asks for $8 million a year at age 37 going on 38, I think the Dodgers will look elsewhere. Romano and Finnegan and Minter could be had for cheaper. The bullpen has historically been one area Friedman cuts back in order to pay premium prices for starting pitchers and position players.
The goal should be limiting Will Smith to 100 games catching. Rushing can catch. If Rushing can prove he can hit in the MLB then he can be a utility player who catches 60 games.
Treinan's not a workhorse anymore. But he's been a solid pitcher with pretty good stuff in LA. Hard to tell how long he'll last though. Maybe he'll be priced right. They might be scooting beyond 300 million and taxed at 100% plus with every subsequent move this offseason. They're not intending to get Soto . He'd cost 100 -120 million a year with the 3rd or 4th tier of the luxury tax exceeding 300 million. Unless they're willing to blow past the 400 million mark and move towards 500 million with wild abandon. It seems more likely that they'll move Taylor and eat a portion of his 20 million remaining in his contractual terms. It makes more sense to trade for Arenado and ship Max off to St louis . They can play 5 to 7 options at short ,centerfield, and the catching position during the regular season before tightening up defensively and or offensively in the postseason to spread the load around and keep more of the guys healthy in October. I'm thinking One year of Walker at 25 million to re-establish his value and trading for Arenado , then moving Taylor and Muncy to cover Arenado's cap and using the remainder of Muncy's and Taylor's cap to cover Arenado's cap and part of Buehler's. Then it looks like they're bringing Teo back. He can play in right,Pages in center, and Rushing in left in October. May is a reliever only. But his mechanics suck! Dustin should go more three quarter sidearm and redevelop his mix. Add some more movement with spin. No chance they consider Flaherty at this time. Buehler though! You've gotta love the guy's spin rates! They made a losing move not offering Walker a qualifying offer for 21.65 million or whatever. Rushing was way too nervous and totally wet behind the ears last year in spring training. Hopefully he'll calm down and begin the maturation process. Joc's running out of thump at his age and stage of his career. They don't have enough roster spots. Ohtani's DH spot takes up the fifth outfielder's . Once they sign Teoscar there's no more room left in the outfield and Edman,Rojas, and Kike are remaining to cover short and two sub roles and Lux means the roster's full. They have to trade Taylor and possibly Muncy or Lux too , to accomodate anyone else like Arenado . Edman won't likely be traded. Rojas might not be either. They probably don't want to trade Lux. Maybe though. Alex Freeland might be fighting for a position soon. That could leave Taylor,Muncy, and Luxy on the bubble. It might not cost them alot to get Arenado if they move Muncy back to St Louis to have them eat some of Arenado's contract while LA eats the remaining terms of Arenado's deal. I don't think Muncy has anything left in the tank at this point. Taylor looks done. It makes no sense releasing Taylor because he'd clear waivers and LA would have to eat his entire deal minus the minimum another team might pay. But if they trade Taylor and eat his contract or a majority of it to a fringe team with ample capspace or a need then they might be able to send a large portion of Chris's remaining 20 million in obligations and clear up to 15 million in capspace next year. They've got no place for Taylor. I have to think they're most likely going to find a way to move Taylor soon. If they move Muncy out for Arenado that would be an interstellar move of incredible proportions. If what Friedman is saying about improving this offseason is true , then what might hold that up is what St Louis is expecting in return. Maybe they want to eat more of Nolan's contract and expect a small prospectus haul. But Arenado has a ton of AB's his entire career so they might be willing to temper their expected asking price to part with his contract while they're in a rebuilding mode. It seems likely that they'd expect some prospects though but Arenado is'nt as young as he used to be with tons of mileage. If they eat most of Nolan's contract and offer Muncy back to eat a small portion of Arenado's contract for 2025 in return to keep the Dodgers capspace in check they'd only have to eat max's contract this year and maybe the buyout next year . Unless they want him in 2026 too. LA might have to give up Lux or Gauthier to facilitate a trade . And maybe a couple of prospects lower in the farm system. Who knows? Maybe they'd take Taylor in a trade too if LA eats his 20 million in cap and the buyout in 26.
@@islandrepublic9166 Your judgement is questionable since they're spending cash in lieu of proving higher intelligence to aquire talent vs developing players through the farm system. The real issue with you is your lack of intelligence . Or your inability to make me do anything.
You guys saying not to sign Soto are not thinking ahead. The Dodgers are getting old and we should looking for youth. Teoscar is 32 and Soto is 26. Our whole infield is 30+ except Lux.
What's with the ads on steroids on the DB live videos on replay? Becoming almost unwatchable. Trying to make up for fewer or no ads on the live stream itself I would guess.
its getting tiresome listening to people whine about the Dodgers. They aren't breaking any rules. It'd be more constructive to ask why the Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, etc. aren't utilizing these strategies. Let's ask all the teams who receive revenue transfer cheques from the luxury tax if 100% of that amount goes towards payroll. If it doesn't, why not?
Virtually all 30 of the MLB owners are billionaires and the crap about "smaller market teams not having a chance" is just that, pure crap! Instead of buying their 3rd or 4th yacht and vacation mansion in the Mediterranean maybe they should put some of their money back into the team!
Love yall lots. Thank you for the amazing show

Trienen is a one inning guy nonway his more important then a full time every game key player..nice try thoe 😂😂😂

What about an outfiels of O'Neill, Edman & Teoscar?
Treinen (49).
You're a good pitcher. 👍
Roberts and the Dodgers players know that you're a hard worker. 🤾👍👍
LOL Scott making sure players get what they deserve.
Amen to that

The fact that Teo hasn't been extended after what he did for this team and how much of a fan favorite he is, is insulting to both him and the fans.
