What a race. Not a dull moment. The rain an cold played a big role. They had an icy grip on many riders, including Van Vleuten. Van Anrooij got two flat tyres in the approach of the Cauberg. After a chase of more than one lap, she managed to get back to the peloton, passing Markus when she had her mechanical. Then Shirin went on to work for Longo Borghini, who was dropped on the final climb. I was also impressed by Wiebes working hard for the team and Riejanne Markus who was always near the front and the only one following Lippert on the Cauberg. Demi took the right moment to jump and had the extra punch to go ahead. Wow!
On highlights alone that looked like some great race for the neutral fan. Sad I missed the live feed. Chapeau to the podium riders! The women's world tour just keeps getting stronger, more competitive and just as entertaining as ever.
So, although it was longer, by quite a bit, the men ran it at 42kph. I'd say, I'd like to see the group of amateurs that would ride with the women @ 38kph.
Ah yes, the old tried and true "women aren't as fast as men" comment, so bold and insightful. No sh*t Sherlock... pretty sure most people grasp the concept that the significant biological differences between women and men plays a significant factor in all sporting endeavours. It's the race within the race that real fans are tuning into, we didn't come to see an average speed contest. Nice touch in failing to mention the 1700m of climbing they averaged that "slow racing" speed over.
Thank you for covering women's racing
You watching it helps more
Thanks for the coverage
Great team tactics on display. Nice to see hard work rewarded.
This is better than most of the guys racing. Cool stuff

So beautiful!
Van Anrooij is on fire! We know she can do time trial, and now it turns out she can also climb AND she can sprint, almost beating Kopecky. Respect!
It's all thanks to Marty that I've been clued in to watch her! It's been so cool to be in on the great talent as she's proven herself!!
Demi is awesome.. love her style and grit on the bike.
A bike riders rider.
Another cracking result for Pfeiffer Georgi. Top ten finish again. Chapeau
great race.
great race and great winner, go demi
Demi Vollering is a stellar racer. Well done!!!
Do you think she will win Liege-Bastogne-Liege on Sunday?
@@gcnracing I think 3 for 3 would be hard, but WOWWW, but what if both Demi and Tadej win 3 of 3 this year? That would be unbelieveable
TY
No wonder a Belgian is not impressed by a Dutch beer
The Belgian rider doesn't appreciate the Dutch beer!
Belgians don't appreciate Dutch beer at all 😂
She doesn’t know what’s good for her 😂
Slootwater
To be fair most Dutch people do not appreciate this brand of beer either😂
Dutch and beer in the same sentence sounds a bit strange to me!😂😂
Great ride yet again by Shirin.
Anyone saw the "allwez opi & omi" sign?
the cover photo says it all.
Amstel, 1 des plus belles classiques de l'annee! 🇫🇷☮️☯️🏵💮🌸🌺🏳️🌈@

It was uphill.
38kph....tough training group ride for amateurs
Well then aren't you a tough guy.
@@DRFNL What's that got to do with the price of fish?

@@ukestjohn 100km longer so a pretty big difference.
Not enough strength in depth so leads to slow racing
