Ok this video is brilliant and exactly what i needed. In my first playthrough i havent really played a lot with scheduling and hit certain points where the struggle was real, like winter or some invasion. For example i assumed the villagers will just go and defend when needed and it was pretty frustrating to see them sound asleep while i was fighting off multiple skeletons. So just listening to you talk about different uses of scheduling and breaking down different use cases was eye opening and im now compelled to make a new save :D On top of that tips themselves are very useful. You're doing Jotuns work Kristi !!!
I have Night Shift, Day Shift, and Emergency Shift (work 24hrs). The latter is mostly for when I need someone to wake up and heal my ass, or trek out to stop an invasion.
I desperately want the talking spot place to have upgrades for a fire (for winter) and a roof. Something more like the healers hut but for chilling out.
Can you make a short guide on the differences and uses between the pits and the huts? I just started playing and don't really understand if I can for example dismantle the gathering pit once I build a gathering hut? I do see that they are required to open more options in the building menu. Most "guide" or "walkthrouht" videos are just regular 30min to 1h+ gameplay videos with no concise information about the topic.
You can destroy the pit if you've built a hut. But you don't have to build it separately. You can look in it's info tab and upgrade it to a house and it will cost less resources. I'm currently 5 days without power due to a hurricane so it will be a beat before my next guide comes out. =) I'll get there eventually.
Also consider making an alternate schedule for your (eventual) Shamans, so that they are working during other villagers' leisure time, and thus able to give them buffs!
Thank you for the nice tipps. Have sometimes littelbit problems with some dudes or women who are lazy as f. 🤣🤣🤣 One Question: How do I unlook other recepies in the cooking house ? My station just let me cook Blueberry stuff....
My Day and Night schedules overlap in such a way that the night is always working during the Day's morning/evening time off. So if anyone needs to go to the healer (who works nights) they can get healed.
agree. imo they mostly need to be less... stupid? yesterday my village was starving so i ran along the coastline to grab them some mussels, got around a hundred of them, which would be enough to keep the village alive for a bit, but instead the first 5 guys to get to the storage ate all of them and the rest starved 😭
@@incendiious That sucks. Sounds buggy. I've never had them take more than a couple extra for later. Although... mussels don't fill you up a whole lot.
so that is a bug? i figured i just didnt understand the game enough when i tell my guys to make 2 of each clothing to sit on the rack he just makes back to back hats and nothing else it would be nice if i could set day/night shift on my guard towers but im only allowed to assign 1 ...
I know the dogs can join your party, but is there a way to get warriors to follow? Sometimes we get attacked and a Warrior is just chilling at the barracks on the other side of camp
Not yet. They took this out before launch cause it needs work but it will be added back in. Currently you have to use the flags and routes through the barracks.
I have that Problem with the Hats too. if you figure out something about that i would like to see an solution. At the moment i manually let them stop crafting those things.
i started to have a hour in the middle of the day to help with them getting what they need. aspectually during the winter so they can warm back up. As they wont do that when working.
Super useful video, thank you! I just survived my first winter with 6 villagers and trying to learn all fast. Manage 21 is a lot more work. Liked and suscribed!

Awesome! So glad it was helpful. =)
Second video of yours in a row where I've learned something useful. Subscribed with thanks.
Awesome, glad I could help! And thanks for the sub. =)

One Question: How do I unlook other recepies in the cooking house ?
My station just let me cook Blueberry stuff....
Try 3 of X plus 1 veggie. So 3x meat and 1 veggie, or 3x fish and 1 veggie, etc.
You create recipes in the pot by putting different ingredients in. Then the recipe that you created will be available to choose in the future.
4x Beetroot Soup: 4 Water, 3 Beetroot, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Berries Kompot: 4 Water, 3 Berries, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Cabbage Soup: 4 Water, 3 Cabbage, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Carrot Soup: 4 Water, 3 Carrots, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Poached Eggs: 4 Water, 3 Wild Egg, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Garlic Soup: 4 Water, 3 Garlic, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Meat Soup: 4 Water, 1 Red Meat, 3 Raw Food
4x Mushroom Soup: 4 Water, 3 Mushrooms, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Mussel Soup: 4 Water, 3 Mussels, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Onion Soup: 4 Water, 3 Onions, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
4x Vegetable Soup: 4 Water, 4 Raw Vegetarian Food
2x Berries Jam: 2 Water, 3 Berries, 1 Raw Vegetarian Food
Also as you experiment with food, use different water levels ( for a stew versus a soup)
I give villagers surnames like, "Guard" for a day fighter and "Knight" for a Night fighter.
I'm not taking advantage of the new guy ok, I'm just granting them the opportunity to earn their place among the village.
My Day and Night schedules overlap in such a way that the night is always working during the Day's morning/evening time off. So if anyone needs to go to the healer (who works nights) they can get healed.
And like you pointed out, they're there to catch the other shift for situations where metal might be slagged or food burnt.
I wish we had a "revert" button to return a villagers shift to whatever it was previously.
That would be genius! Definitely gonna make that suggestion. Thanks!
Good vids but really the automation for midgame+ just needs longer in the oven to fix bugs and convenience
It could definitely use some more work. Will be interesting to see the roadmap they develop based on all of the feedback they're getting.

I would like a villager to just work on others schedules haha

I assigned someone else and that person didn't do it. Idk why.
What about "recovering" villagers that have
This does work, just in case you need to do something this extreme to save a soul about to depart your village.
Possibly. Depends on why their points are that low. If you look at their comments, they'll tell you what's wrong.
Excellent stuff, Kristi 🙂
Thank you Maqsimous =)

Yay someone with actual information and not videos like "how to get water" XD thanks!
Lol! Glad it helped. =)
Saw enough slag early on that I'm now the blacksmith.
Yep. That's how I learned to put many hammers on the bloomer.
Very useful information . Well thought out organization
Thanks a lot!
Nice , thx :) very useful
Glad you liked it!
What does the wait time mean at 2:15?
That is how long they will wait at that point to train or patrol before moving on to the next one.
@@GamingwithKristi ah thank you!
