  • Learn how to correctly answer questions about vital signs and priority patients. These questions will help you to think more critically and score higher on your nursing exams.
    Vital signs are considered vital to the rapid assessment of the client when it is necessary to determine major changes in the client's basic physiological functioning. Baseline vital signs are taken prior to many procedures and treatments including upon admission to an acute care facility, prior to the administration of medications, prior to the administration of a blood transfusion, and prior to surgery and other invasive procedures.

    Just a heads up, the blood cuff pressure question had one showing the answer as wrapped the cuff too loosely instead of too tightly. I believe taking a blood pressure reading too quickly will create a false high reading

      @@diamondmccrayright? So what would the actual answer be? 3?

    • @avasommerrr
      @avasommerrr 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also thought it would be 3. Especially after she explained that making it loose would cause a low reading, and tight would make it appear high. @@theperryhouse8146

    • @justjared3801
      @justjared3801 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The correct answer is 1. If the cuff is too loose the reading is too high. Think of it this way - you have to pump up the cuff so that it stops the blood flow. If it’s the right fit - you pump it just enough from zero to the current pressure (higher than that but it’s easier to explain that way), if it’s loose - you first have to pump it up a bit to make it fit the arm and than pump it even more to stop the blood flow - therefore the higher reading. :)
