Good ride, this is a pretty little town I was shocked to see your annotation stating it's the #1 tourist destination in Illinois. Glad you were able to get out and film on such a pretty day. Filming and editing have really taken a back seat in my life over the last year.
That downtown alone can be packed with tourists on any given day. Also, there are lots of ski resorts and B&Bs in the area. As for the filming, I just had to get out of the house. But I'm with you: I'm nowhere doing as many videos that I've usually done.
There's a lil' voice in my head, and it's shouting; "Hey, we've been there, we've been there, remember?"... But wait, I couldn't have been unless I maybe delivered something there in those old truckin' days... It must have been somewhere out on 20, I just don't know. But the bell is ringing. Too bad I didn't keep all of those old log books from days gone by. Huge thumbs up also for Ken Navarro! "Island Life" is one of my all-time favorites!
With that ride here, you would remember. It's not a bad drive, but tell someone from Chicagoland that they have to travel 50 miles on two lane roads and watch their eyes roll.
1:50 I had a streak so bad on my windshield that I had to refilm my latest video of the Illinois River Rd and the world's most beautiful drive. Glad I had to though because the lighting was much better in the reshoot.

Galena is one of those beautiful places I need to go visit sometime.
Definitely. Choose a nice weekend in late spring or summer and you're all good.
Loved it, thank you! Galena is such a pretty town.
Thanks! It is a great place to visit.

Nice work!
Thanks!
Nice ride of the past and future.
Thanks! I thought I would never find a use for that old footage after I did a better reshoot of the Stagecoach Trail.

And don't forget Grant had a house here.
I mention that in the beginning. Galena will always be tied to him.
Thanks!
