This is, I believe, the best joke telling I’ve seen from Norm. The way he almost adopts a character when he gets to the Uncle Terry part and progresses through the war flashback, getting more and more ASMR and even affecting a kind of old timey war captain kind of cadence etc, not to mention the “faaaaarr from these shores” bit and then staring off into nothing when he recalls the troop abandoning him. It’s just so absurd it’s utterly brilliant.
This is, honestly, the best joke I’ve heard in my entire life. The subtly and complexities at work in the construction, telling and performance of it are astonishing. Norm was, without doubt, a comic genius.
I think he's told the same joke before. I believe he credits the ejaculate story to a real veteran he talked to on the street. I hope it's true cause it takes a mad man like Norm to work it into a joke like this.

To me Norm is by far the most rewatchable comedian. This joke doesn't only get better with every repetition for a long period of time, it's also hard to not look at it as some sort of masterclass in storytelling.

I always wondered whether these are legit jokes, or whether Norm makes them on the fly and adds a lot of his own spin on them to drag them out.

I love that the none of the stories from the other kids actually has a moral; the cliches each only provides a metaphor for a moral, but in Norm's backwards telling, the metaphor is literal. Then Dirty Johnny's story comes through with the goods.
Agreed, this one is stronger. The Stern version lacks energy to where it's almost sad in places. This one keeps moving fast enough that it doesn't sink in, so it stays hilarious.

I love that the none of the stories from the other kids actually has a moral; the cliches each only provides a metaphor for a moral, but in Norm's backwards telling, the metaphor is literal. Then Dirty Johnny's story comes through with the goods.

I love it when he adds little tid bits to his stories, the kind that don't really further the plot but still add to the joke.
I love his delivery and reactions here much more than when he did it on HS. I love when he’s telling the story he seems to be reliving the moment.
Agreed, this one is stronger. The Stern version lacks energy to where it's almost sad in places. This one keeps moving fast enough that it doesn't sink in, so it stays hilarious.
