Those descents are crazy! Unbelievable how fast the best runners take them.

Agreed. The editing was sporty but still gave it up to the heart of the run.

These athletes are like machine . No matter they run on sea level or 3000 meters.

I feel like the downhill should have been marked in a race of this caliber.Make everyone run the exact same course.

How is it possible that no one ever broke their ankles going down like that?

Why Kilian didn't race in the last two legs?

With the way the series is scored, there’s no need to race every event. As he can be fairly confident of making the top 10, and therefore the final, I guess that he will only run 3 of the other races.

Why don't African runners participate in these trail running competitions?

    • @111MoRri111

Probably bc the prize money pool in diamond league and marathon races is bigger and they are mostly not experienced technical runners

African runners don't get paid as well as Western runners do with sponsorships (It's not fair, but it's true).
Thus, they need to be strategic with what races they try and win. Winning a premier Marathon like Boston will get you ~$150,000. Winning UTMB will get you €2,000. This is less money than you get from winning the Master's division at Boston. If you are in it for the prize pool, it's far worse than farming relatively unknown 5Ks and tertiary Marathons.
This is why it is less common to see African runners in these trail events.
