- We got the campervan out and about for some more Adventures in Scotland. Heading to the hills with the camper van we used it as a wee base camp as me and my son headed up a Scottish Mountain for the weekend....

It's great getting the kids involved in the mountains. I took my son and daughter up the mountains as teenagers, even in mid winter and they have always climbed. Now my daughter is attempting to qualify as one of the first women members of Police Scotland Mountain Rescue.

Ah....lovely van and mountains. Just got back from the Highlands in my camper car but being disabled I am unable to climb up these mountains, I can only gaze at their stunning majesty and watch other mountain goats do it 😁

Didn't realise you had bought a van Murray. I'd love one.
its taken me about a decade to save up for the campervan, and have actually had it for over a year now but had a few teething issues and with LD it hasnt really seen too much of the rod (yet). Cant wait to get it back out and about :)

Brilliant as always..to be young,fit & enthusiastic must be a great feeling,the wee man is like a mountain goat bounding up & down the mountain.. absolutely fantastic to see,you need to fill his backpack up a bit Murray to slow him down or he will be at the summit and on his way back down when your only half way up 😁
Might have to do that ! Only way I can keep up with him 😁😂

My Scottish isn't great ;-) so would be good to have the names of the peaks in the description for copy and pasting as well as on screen :) . Usually try and follow along on the OS map so would be good to see gps tracks if you ever record them. Thanks as always for sharing.
Van looking great Murray, just picked up mine this week, was out in Blair Atholl trying it out for a few days.
superb - I have planned on going with the campervan to the campsite at Blair for a while - maybe wait until after the schools go back :) Hope you had fun

Great to see you showing easier less walked Munro's at a time when more people are getting into hill walking. Even as a seasoned hiker I've still not done this one. Love the van btw. Will have to keep saving my pennies lol.

Would you mind telling me if the trousers you wear climbing are an ordinary nylon type material or are they waterproof. In Australia I am used to shorts for obvious reasons. Thank you for your wonderful video I am always appreciative.
Hi Donald - mostly in the summer they are standard hiking trousers. I do have a pair of waterproof over trousers but rarely use them :)

Hi Peter - thank you. I have a loads of Sunday vlogs (usually about gear and stuff like what I pack) to make - only issue is I just haven't had time this year to make any as of yet (been kept busy in my 9-5 job and struggling to find time to edit my weekend adventure). When I get back to normal hours I will hopefully have a wee bit more time in the evening for the Sunday vlogs :)

hey Murray - great video, so nice to see you and your son getting out together :-) my Dad and I climbed Meall Corranaich in September 1977 (as well as Ben Lawers). from his notes he says that there was a "strong wind" which made it hard to stand up at times, so we abandoned the ridge and descended to Lochan nan Cat and the Lawers burn instead
Oh to be young with legs and lungs that don't tire.
You have every gadget to maximise ur days on the hills Murray and we get to enjoy the results!!

Doesn't it worry you leaving a £50k + van in the middle of nowhere unattended ? I am currently in the middle of a professional conversion and it is something that worries me going forward. Thinking about getting a gear locking system fitted, which won't stop break ins but makes it harder to steal.
Yeah - must admit I was worried but got lots of security measure in van - and TBh probably higher chance of it being stolen from home where thief’s can map areas etc etc - I’ve got enough security cameras to put the local council to shame 😂😂 ps mine wasn’t quite that expensive 🥴 but still not a cheap thing not to have well covered by security - good luck with your van and have many happy adventures in it 👍👍

Oh my god, I am so jealous! The grill you have in the camper reminds of the tiny stoves in Japan, there really is no oven there, just a place for grilling that I used to love so much. What a great way to camp while it’s raining!
the grill is a great wee thing to have in the camper van - makes a grand wee bacon sandwich :)

I just bought an OEX Coyote 111 tent for me and the wife to wild camp,,,have you tried it or heard anything about them ?
