yo you're the first one I've seen get the Snoop reference. and immediately!
Norway is that Epic Rap Battles of History??????
I only meant - Jack Black is a comedic actor. not that he's bad. just.... a bit jokey.
you gotta find the triple in the triplets bar... you just gotta... we capitalized the hint
It went so hard. Godzilla absolutely bodied King Kong. Awesome work
Understandable
Scru's kid gonna ask him "Dad, what's the place called where people go to drink and socialize?"
"THAT'S A BAR!"
Dam that just funny good job 😂
Thanks for the chuckle take the like
Lol😂
*Seinfeld bass riff kicks in*
🤣🤣
I really like how in the past two ERBS, including this one, each rapper has 3 verses each. It allows for more great lines, I hope they continue that for more battles!
I'd rather they cut some of the filler because it's getting evident on some like Lara vs Indy
@@bknpnckhe's talking about Marx vs Ford and this one
I personally found my favorite in Boba Fett VS Deadpool, 1 normal round, 2 short rounds, and a final normal round
@@bknpnckI prefer 3 verses each because with two whoever went second had a huge advantage since they could get two rebuttals while the first person would only get one rebuttal
I really was not expecting 3 for 3 without Mothra or something stepping in.
"My voice cuts deep like I'm rubbing on a double bass" This is referring to how Godzilla's original Roar was created. By dragging a resin coated leather glove along a double bass.
😮🤯
insane how it stands the test of time some rewqorks here or there but its the same sound
😮😮
I forgot about that.
And "rabbit fur flambè" from Godzilla is a reference to the original King Kong, which used rabbit fur for the hair.
The RKO line is a reference to RKO Radio Pictures, a studio that produced the 1933 King Kong Film
Ohhh ok. I was so confused, like why is King Kong randomly shouting out Randy Orton lol
Yep (Mighty Joe Young as well, right?) and Toho made the Godzilla flicks
but why he said "we dont love them ToHos" i didnt get that@@cindywomack1113
Finally someone gets the RKO line!
@@chrisgomes609same
that comeback of "you could could come at me with Iron Man and Thor" when talking abt the atoms (Iron & Thorium) legit actually got me tearing up bro that shit went hard
In a Comic book Godzilla actually fought the avengers, the avengers technically won but they won because Godzilla left.
@@Garmin21111Carzy Godzilla was canon to Marvel for a while but then they retooled him into their own monster once they lost the rights I think
@@Garmin21111 not much any can do against a megaton lizard that can dish out enough RADs to wipeout cities no?
Yeah they didnt actually beat godzilla into submission @Garmin21111
It might be a double cuz he actually has fought Thor I believe
You missed the "you're getting chewed up, this Kong's getting conquered". Kong is a brand of "indestructible" dog toys.
Dang, I missed that MULTIPLE times (despite the fact I even have a dog with a Kong lol)
And he called king a dawg right before
That and Kong's claim that Godzilla needed him to sell a movie while Kong himself has not been popular since the 80s or 90s while Godzilla has kept on selling this whole time
i thought it sounded similar to Genkhis Khan. Khan and kong sound similar.
daaaaang i even know the toys, but never gotten that line :D
Godzilla's voice here actually sounds a bit like the one time Godzilla spoke English in the movie 70s movie, Godzilla vs. Gigan. The ERB crew actually noted the one time he's talked and used that as inspo for his rap. Insane
Y quedó como el culo
@@josd8207Los Kaiju son CONOCIDOS por parecer tontos 💀
We are not talking enough about that “Kaiju haiku” bar
For those who don’t know, a haiku is a traditional Japanese form of poetry consisting of three lines with five, seven, and five syllables consecutively
Look at the last three lines Godzilla spat right there
“Damn, I despise you” (5)
“You make bad tokusatsu” (7)
“Soft like some tofu” (5)
This lizard woke up and chose violence 💀
Too be fair, almost everytime Godzilla has woken up, he's been violent
That's an automatic victory for Godzilla
I had to count with my fingers to see if that matches up 😂, and yes, it does match with the Haiku 5 7 5.
@@redsupersaiyan3120 I counted on my fingers too 😂😂😅
I feel like the triplet deserves some love too
Godzilla mentioned a haiku and without even going back to count syllables I knew they made it a haiku cause I know the quality writing there’s guys do😂
It was infact a haiku
Yep, 5-7-5. It's a haiku alright.
“Damn I despise you.” (5)
“You make weak Tokusatsu.” (7)
“Soft like some tofu.” (5)
Checks out 😂
@@julianadams3710
i was like 'bruh why is he still going' when he started that . 😅
bro was already cooked w the harambe bar right before .
then vaporized to dust with that
nothing left to rap back, just a mound of ashes
"I'm bigger than bridges and I'm swingin' digits in tripliets like Ghidorah"
the fact that he actually rapped that in triplets make it such a sick line
this and the haiku line right after were great meta lines, those and the Jussie Smolett line sold the whole thing for me
@@joshc5613honestly Godzilla opened up full throttle and not holding a single punch and Kong just couldn't recover from it. His final verse was Kong catching his footing but by then it was too late.
Also right before that. "You can bring Ironman and Thor I'll still destroy ya." Working in a reference to Destroyah.
yeah, that too
I thought it was obvious, but not a lot of people mention it
so I guess not lol@@LordKingler
It's important to note that Bridges was actually capitalized. This is because Jeff Bridges was in the 70s King Kong remake. Goji literally towers over bridges, but then he's also saying he's bigger than Kong's movies, even when they star big named actors.
Dang, Jack Black and Donkey Kong were catching strays in this battle
Jussie Smollett was straight collateral damage here
Harambe
👉F
Someone check on Pacific Rim
Harambe too man, RIP
Kong called out Gozilla on "recycled raps" and yet two of his best punches referenced the '98 Godzilla film.
It's kinda weird since there is sooooo much bad Godzilla from the 1970's to reference, but he doesn't. That being said, the 70's Kong movies were trash too.
Godzilla had no rebuttals. He kept going all in on the offensive. He got disrespectful immediately and if he stopped it was to flex his own rap sheet and kill count
@@TheUncivilizedNation gojira stayed in character. All gas and no brakes!
@@christophjohnson3777 That's something i 100% respect. In my book it's kinda like Big G owning up to it like whatever. Kong while i appreciate his defensive and rebuttal here and there the few lines he tossed out at G. CUT DEEP! Godzilla throwing jawbreaking skull fracturing Haymakers while kong trying to stick him with a boxcutter and managed to get him a few times
@@necrodamus5481 good analogy.
King kong coming in with “aaanyway that was more disappointing than your anime” will be stuck in my head forever😭
Lived in my head rent free for a few days now.
its unfair because godzilla dominated but this shit is on loop with "imagine if ninja had a low taper fade"
That part and "reppin' RKO and we don't love them ToHos" has been stuck in my head
"How did dropping off the Empire feel? You're like Jussie Smollett, 'cept this beat down is real."
That might be one of the nastiest lines ever in ERB.
That's up there with Clint Eastwood and Cleopatra
@@ajdominguez1002 I think Goku still has the most brutal line in ERB history, but it's getting close.
Can you explain it? I don't get it
@@alexanderandersson4093
In the original King Kong movie, when he escapes in New York, he eventually climbes on top of the Empire State Building, and is killed when airplanes shoot him down. This is referenced in the earlier line with the "Here comes the airplane".
Jussie Smollett is an actor who was most famous for playing a role in the show "Empire". A few years ago, he faked a hate crime on himself, claiming that some Trump supporters beat him up. When he got caught for it, he was fired from the show.
So "Empire" is referencing both the building in New York, as well as the show that Smollett was in. And when Godzilla says "'cept this beatdown is real" he's referencing the fake hate crime.
If you wanna take it to a more racist level, King Kong is a monkey, and Jussie Smollett is black, though I don't think that's intended here.
@@Snfflbxi mean thats hard but that isnt really a battle ender…
The line “I’m an oxygen destroyer and now you’re o2 has so many layers to it”
- the oxygen destroyer was used to kill Godzilla in a 1950’s film
- King Kong is an “oxygen destroyer” as he dominates on land (breathes oxygen)
- Oxygen is a diatomic molecule so in its natural state it is O2
- Kong is calling Godzilla oxygen saying he destroys him (yet again)
- Kong is saying Godzilla is zero to two in verses
Bravo to both writers, this line was only one example, as many bars had layers like this. I believe it was a closer match than people are saying
It was a good ERB but "- King Kong is an “oxygen destroyer” as he dominates on land (breathes oxygen)"?
bro what the fuck are you on
You missed one. "CODE BLUE" is the medical term of respiratory arrest aka "no breathing"
Also O-2 as in Kong is up two to nothing.
Wouldve been an even bigger punch if Kong had actually been 2-0 at that point, but alas he very much wasnt so it makes the whole thing reek of Cope
@@rhysjonsmusic I still think it was a good line. You wouldn’t wanna act like you lost a round in a battle, it just shows kongs confidence/personality. And while I agree Godzilla won round 1 it wasn’t by a lot, it only would’ve been bad if kong had been doing terrible imo.
"You could come at me with Iron man and Thor I'll still destroy yah (Destroyah, big godzilla enemy powered by the Oxygen Destroyer, thus another Rebuttal). I'm Bigger than Bridges and I'm swinging digits in triplets like Ghidorah."
Tony, Thor, and Kong. Set of 3
Ghidorah is made of 3 Dorats and/or has 3 heads. Set of 3
Avengers, Destroyah, and Ghidorah. Set of 3.
Triple entendre anyone?
Course, Godzilla didn't really beat Destroyah. He went nuclear and melted down and was frozen to keep from destroying the Earth. Feels like a lean rebuttal if it is.
Also Jeff Bridges (iron monger) the bifrost (another bridge) and was there a major bridge in a Godzilla movie involving Ghidorah?
digits in triplets - does Godzilla have 3 digits per limb? 3 fingers, 3 toes?
@@AlexanderAzarov four usually.
Its a quadruple entendre as someone else pointed out, add iron and thorium, the elements as he just referenced atoms too, and you have the 4th reference
ERB+Scru=epic night
Facts
If Scru guest stars in another ERB I vote for him to play George Washington Carver!
new infinite craft combo just dropped
"Thats why nintendo made an ass out of you"
Bruh... that actually goed hard. An ass, DONKEY kong, get it?
Also, Universal tried to sue Nintendo for Donkey Kong....got reverse UNO into paying up Nintendo.
Oooohh, I thought it was about the meme!
It's actually even Harder. Originally Nintendo named him Jack*ss Kong and it was *mistranslated* into 'Donkey' here in the US!
@@LordSaric whoa 😮
And an additional fun fact: Nintendo's lawyer on that case was one Jack Kirby, whose name was given to the pink puff Kirby. @@zhaoyun255
“It’s the saddest death of a gorilla since harambe.” JEEZ that’s a killer line. This is like Miss carriage savagery.
Nah, not even close. It was a bar, but Miss Carriage was a different level of savage.
It's not that good.
It is
Amazing bar but I think the jussie smollet was at that level
Definitely top 5 off the top for me:
1) the “Heath Ledger” bar from Joker/Pennywise
2) the “184 World Records” bar from Hawk/Gretzky
3) the “Pissiest B***h In The Kitchen” bar from Child/Ramsay
4) the “Miss Carriage” bar from Marilyn/Cleopatra
5) the “Harambe” bar from this battle
Godzilla has cemented himself up there with Vader, Cleopatra and Joan Rivers as one of the most brutal battle rappers.
Cleopatra gotta be one of the most overrated battles, literally has one good line and people think its the best ever (its not)
Then let’s replace her with Juliet or Gordon Ramsay.
You forgot Clint Eastwood.
Don't forget Goku
You forgot Juliette
I’m a ERB nerd myself and I’m glad ERB is back
We all are lol
Same lol
Same
Awesome, another part of the erb family
So say we all
The Jussie Smollet line....battle over. Spittin fire? Godzilla spitting atomic.
I instantly said "battle over" when i heard it
explain it for the normies lol👀
@@GuyWithTheHair24 he said "How did dropping off the Empire feel?
You're like Jussie Smollet, 'cept this beatdown is real"
Jussie Smollet was an actor of a series called Empire that went to prison recently cause he paid two nigerian dudes to beat him up and he said a white cop did it and was calling him slurs. Judge found him guilty of faking the whole thing and i think he got like half a year in jail.
And King Kong obviously got dropped from the Empire state building
@@GuyWithTheHair24Jussie Smollet was a part of a group called the EMPIRE fox so that explains the empire state part.
Jussie Smollet Lied about getting beat up to police thus the "except this beat down is real"
@@GuyWithTheHair24 King Kong in his first movie climbed the Empire state building and died when he fell off it. Jessie Smollet was an actor from the show "Empire" who staged himself getting a fake MAGA hate-crime beatdown, was found out, and fired from the show. In a nutshell.
"Damn I despise you." 5
"You weak tokosatsu" 7
"Weak like some tofu." 5
"That is a Kaiju Haiku."
It is.
Damn, that's a brilliant bar.
“cringes while you sniff her ripped off dress” is a reference to Kong ‘76
The Frankenstein thing is a reference to the original King Kong vs Godzilla in ‘63. In the original script, it was Godzilla vs Frankenstein (hence l, why Kong gets charged up with lightning out of nowhere. I also think the original concept was “King Kong vs Frankenstein” before it got switched up.
RKO was the original King Kong studio in the 30s. Toho is Godzilla’s studio.
Minilla is Godzilla’s son, and hung out with a little kid in “All Monsters Attack”.
“Oxygen Destroyer” is the weapon they use to kill Godzilla in the original ‘54 movie.
“Honda vehicle” is also referencing Ishiro Honda, who directed most of the Godzilla movies from the 50s-70s.
I really like the fact that Kong raps smart and does solid rebuttals but Godzilla just powers through like a force of nature.
Minilla is a mini-Godzilla made in the later Japanese films when they kiddy-fied Godzilla to attract a youth audience who was still into low-budget rubber-suited mayhem. What can I say? He's been around for 70 years. He has his own Silver Age.
And O2 (two oxygen atoms making one oxygen molecule) is the form of oxygen that we, and Godzilla, breathe. The first Godzilla film ends with a scientist using an oxygen destroyer to eliminate all the oxygen in the water around Godzilla, which kills him. 02 = 0-2
I'm surprised Kong didn't come at Minilla and Son of Godzilla more. Some of that 70's Godzilla was rough.
Also the 0-2 can refer to a Win/Loss record, implying that so far he's lost the battle in both verses
@@thecanadiandefender1451 Although that part doesn't work since Kong got wrecked bad in the first verse.
@@thecanadiandefender1451the 0-2 actually comes from the movie when they fought in 1962 where King Kong was actually the winner. So Kong is trying to say once he wins this rap, Godzilla will be 0-2 against Kong.
@@554cortezGodzooki! Hahhahah
The O-2 bar was CRAZY, but Godzilla clapped each verse. It wasn't even close.
I just realized Kong calling Godzilla “Lizzie” might be a reference to Elizabeth Olsen, who starred in the 2014 Godzilla movie. Given that they also referenced Bryan Cranston being in that movie, it’s probably not a coincidence
Its actually a reference from the rampage game. Lizzie is a Giant lizard
Nope. Rampage.
Comes from an old arcade game Rampage. Lizzie was one of three playable monsters.
What makes the "Iron man and thor" bar even better is the very fact that in an event, he actually fought against Marvel superheroes and was giving them a lot of trouble.
A few hard bars you missed:
- Kong’s “No way your ass-brain is hangin’ with these monkey bars” is a brutal diss, because in ‘Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II’, human scientists discover that Godzilla has a second brain located in his ass. I shit you not, look it up.
- Minilla was the son of Godzilla, first appearing in the film of the same name, and…yeah, he was kinda fugly and pathetic. Basically, Godzilla is saying “you’re such a joke, you’re only a worthy opponent to my runt of a son”.
- The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms was basically a Godzilla film released the year before Godzilla came out. It used stop-motion animation to make its monster move, which holds up surprisingly well.
- Mechani-Kong was a robot replica that Kong had to fight in the Japanese sequel to the original ‘King Kong vs Godzilla’. As a side note, the robot was created by a mad scientist called ‘Doctor Who’, no relation to the time-travelling Time Lord.
- The “Laid an egg in ‘98” line also refers to Godzilla laying eggs in that film, that hatch into baby godzilla-raptors in a desperate attempt to cash in on ‘Jurassic Park’s fame.
I like the preemptive rebuttal. Kong would absolutely have gone in on how pathetic Godzilla's son is, except that by equating the two, Godzilla set it up that any burn against Minilla would also burn Kong.
Well not so much in his ass, it's at in the lower/base of his spine.
Dinosaurs in general, otherwise the signals would take too long to travel. Octopus arms also have their own limited cognitive ability. There's also evidence that our spinal columns can send and receive signals independently or our brains under the right circumstances.
@@zeframmann1641 I believe that final point about humans is indeed fact. It's a jerk reaction which allows you to act more quickly then is mentally possible. Like removing your hand from a hot pan WAY before you start feeling the pain.
"Laid an egg" is also Kong telling Godzilla that his verse amounted to nothing, since an egg is shaped like 0.
This was one of the DENSEST ERBs they've ever made. Almsot every line has double meanings, multiple references and niche knowledge. Its really impressive.
2:02 Gorillas aren’t just around other gorillas…they’re around family groups.
Godzilla was making fun of Kong’s family being dead 😮🔥
"The beast from 20000 fathoms" was the first popular monster movie in japan that inspired godzilla. This is insane
The "Shin of Godzilla" can also mean "You don't measure up to the GOD of GODZILLA" Since Shin can also mean God in Japanese
And because this is the original Godzilla rapping (Gojira technically)
This is Heisei era Godzilla, the second "generation" of the franchise, and the most iconic design.
"Shin" actually means "true", "pure", or "real". "Shin Godzilla" is the "Real Godzilla", advertising itself as the real deal, anything else is a faker. Hence Japanese fighting games using "shin" before a stronger version of an attack, labeling it as the genuine article. "Shin Shoryuken", "Shinku Hadouken", "Shindai Kami", etc.
I respect u King Kong I really do, but dat boi Godzilla was steppin on yo CHEST!😂😂😂
Ha! Just like in the movie!
'I'll chew you up dog, this Kong's getting conquered' chew, dog, Kong. Kong is a dog chewtoy brand!
I just caught he rebutted the “simpamzee” line by saying”only Beauty kills this beast, and nothing bout you pretty”
He still lost but Kong did some work!
"You aint a rap Godzilla." Eminens two songs Rap God and Godziilla. Pretty clever. "Prey to me" may also be a reference to how eminem often makes lines saying to pray to him as he's the rap God
I swear since Scru started these ive looked at ERBs differently and breaking down the bars i can myself and as a big kaiju fan, the bars, the punchlines, the references. Seeing these in a whole new light and its so worth it, cant wait to see how much further Scru goes.
Definately gives you a new look at how deep erb goes with some of their references.
Honestly the only guy whos ERB reactions I look forward to now because Scru does it different. The second I see a new ERB drop I immediately start refreshing his feed because I gotta see his reaction.
I usually come here second or third. My first choice is Knox since he seems to just catch and break down more bars then most other reactors...but Scru is definitely in my top 3 of ERB reactors to watch.
"My voice cuts deep like I'm rubbing on a double bass" That right there is a reference to how his original roar was made in 1954. The films composer, Akira Ifukube, took a resin-coated leather glove and rubbed it along a contrabass, then reverberated the sound to create the classic roar.
that berry juice line was reference to the king Kong vs Godzilla 1962 movie where Kong drunk it after saving a village from a giant octopus he got drunk off of it and fell asleep and that's how he got captured
“This is kids stuff, send in Minilla” Godzilla’s Revenge dealt with bullying and starred Godzillas son, Minilla and a little kid also dealing with bullies. It was a very kiddy/G rated movie.
ERB still dropping BANGERS and they only get BETTER at the rapping. Those last two round were CRAZY
My favorite line is the "damn I despise you, you make weak tokusatsu, soft like some tofu that's a Kaiju haiku" because it's actually a haiku
Edit: I loved this reaction so much I watched twice back to back.
My favorite part of the whole battle is when Kong rode in like a PImp on those balloons going "AAAA N Ways!" This Kong made those lame balloons look like he was riding in on a disrespect throne as king of the disses! Still...wasn't enough, Godzilla took it, but honorable mention for that absolutely memorable moment in this battle!
I dont know if anyone notice but, "I'll still destroy ya" feels like a reference to Destroyah, a kaiju godzilla fought back in the day
Scru everytime you pause and say “imma need you to start punching.” it’s always the verse before they do lmao.
The oxygen destroyer is what they used to kill Godzilla in the first movie.
Also, Kong’s bar “prey to me” was a double entendre. Fire 🔥
I really like that ironman and thor line, cause he talking bout the comics he was in AND its a rebuttle to Kongs O2 line, cause IRON-man and THOR as in Thorium, two elements in the periodic table.
It's gotten to the point where I actually look forward to Scru's breakdown MORE than the ERB itself. Kudos, king.
Kinda ironic Godzilla said "here comes the airplane!" considering Godzilla Minus One
And that film also destroyed a lot of Kong's argument about how Godzilla alone can't sell seats. He can; but only when in the hands of competent and capable writers and directors, preferably Japanese ones that have actual emotional investment in his metaphor. Hollywood and its making everything about climate superstition propaganda can't sell seats on Godzilla alone. Because no one is buying them recycling the same lies from Tomorrowland, but with Godzilla added in. Throw some more monsters in, and the interaction sparks just enough curiosity to get anyone to watch.
@@DozerfleetProd now if they would stop putting all those stupid humans in my monster movie, I'd be a lot happier.
@@christophjohnson3777 : I saw King of the Monsters. There was no reason to make that much of the supporting human cast that dumb.
@@christophjohnson3777 it works if they have a real character driven story with meaning like Minus One dealing with Survivor’s Guilt
@glamourweaver i havent gotten to see minus 1 yet. Does it have almost a dozen humans that we are supposed to care about?
2 or 3 i can handle.
The "Empire and Jussie Smollett" line was the "mic drop" line for Godzilla. You don't come back from that burn!
Also, congrats on 1mil subs!
ERB really did their research for this battle. The amount of BTS they know for both monsters is nuts.
Missed opportunity for King Ghidorah to come in and smoke them both in 16 bars. Love that Space Dragon. Lol.
"Maybe I'm trippin', but off the first listen..."
Look at you, rhyming already xD
"Chew you up Dawg, this Kong's getting conquered" ---reference to Kong chew toys for dogs
I think also a pun on Kang the Conqueror.
Or the Viet Cong who the americans failed to conquer.
Minilla is from Son of Godzilla. It’s a baby Godzilla. He’s basically saying my son is good enough to rap against you.
I can't be the only one who got the Bill Engvall reference they threw in: "So...here's your sign!"
Im surprised you didnt catch the ass-brain insult: in one of Godzillas movies, they show Godzilla actually does have a second brain at the base or his spine; he actually does have an ass-brain.
Universal tried to sue Nintendo for copyright infringement over the whole Donkey and King Kong deal, turns out in a prior lawsuit they’d argued the scenario and characters were public domain.
Also DK is named after a literal ass lol
Just started watching greys anatomy and the code blue lines hits so much harder now than if I hadn’t since code blue means that someone is flat lining. So he’s basically saying go ahead and glow blue imma make you flatline, and in top of that an oxygen destroyer is one of the devices that can truly harm/kill Godzilla. So I truly feel like in my onion that KK should’ve gotten that Don Demarco on that one for the word play and for the fact that he would’ve fucked his ass up. Also the tree line is a reference to the first time they ever met in live action. During the fight he took up a tree by the roots and shoved it down his throat.
Another crazy thing too is the fact that in one of Godzillas movies he did a stupid ass drop kick that looks mad goofy so that’s another attack against the Big-G. If you ever do decide to revisit this battle please watch a recap of Both of their histories, I think it’ll change your mind about some of the bars KK was spitting. Also I know that you judge battles as if they were humans rapping which is fair so I’m not here to criticize you on your reaction, because at the end of the day like you said you have to observe as a person who doesn’t know anything about these two to make it seem fair.
Oh these after 1M vids are gonna crazzyy🔥
Ya diiiig lol
15:37 So what you’re saying is… Kong wasn’t throwing barrels, and Godzilla was swinging the hammer down? Mamma Mia! I think it’s time to jump, man.
WE HIT 1 MIL AND NOW WE GET A NEW ERB WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WEEK SPAM THAT LIKE BUTTON
The beginning of godzilla's third verse ended the entire battle, it's a three-way rebuttal because not only does it rebuttal the o2 line but it also rebuttals all if Kong's best lines from the first round with the beast part but it also rebuttals the kraken bar which in my opinion was Kong's strongest bar in round one 20,000 leagues under the sea is a movie about the kraken so the beast that 20,000 leagues couldn't fathom rebuttals the kraken bar
Plus something that even I didn't notice until rewatching is the you could come at me with iron man and Thor I'll still destroy ya is a reference to both the marvel comics crossover but also a reference to destoroyah
RKO is the studio that made King Kong. They’re not around anymore.
Minilla is Godzilla’s son in the older films. He was basically a smaller version of him.
There’s a couple of typos in your comment, you gotta edit them
What makes the berry juice bar better is how in the original Godzilla vs King Kong humans drugged King Kong with a berry like juice
I mean that's the meaning of the whole line in the first place, right?
@@554cortez I mean some people don't instantly get the bar or remember that part of the movie
The "I can knock you out with one breath, don't tempt me, monkey", I feel like that's a Frieza reference.
This is genuinely a contender for one of the best ERB's ever
As soon as I heard the Triplets and Ghidorah bar, I knew I needed Scru to break it down. Because this battle was pure poetry
the only reaction channel that actually breaks down the bars and stays entertaining the whole time, been here since way before a million and im stickin around, keep up the good work Scru
Ok. Nah. As an avid ERB fan, this took a minute to start bubbling. BUT DAMN IT STARTED COOKING! And I agree Scru. Perfect reaction to do after hitting a milli. Congrats bro. You earned it
This is definitely a battle where both people were rapping at their best. The performance was absolute killer front to back.
But damn, also as a dad, that airplane line just hits so hard. And that's ignoring the entire reat of hos verses. I'm going to be listening to this for a week, but Godzilla has gotta be the one who takes it.
I'm surprised you didn't catch the rap Godzilla line.... Eminem 😅. Congrats on the 1mill...you earned it !!
"Reppin RKO".. references the original studio that produced the original King Kong. Toho produced Godzilla.
RKO is the studio that produced the original King Kong from 1933.
Love the more behind the verses, like the dubble base line, referencing how the original Godzilla roar was made
ERB is the best way to end a Friday
Scru : lemme get my glasses on
also scru : where'd the glasses go ?
🤣🤣🤣
First ERB post UNO MILLION! BIG UPS!
that third Godzilla verse is ERB hall of fame material, jesus fucking christ
The g-man took off in the beginning, eating the blows kong was throwing. Thats all it was from kong though, counter attacks and weaving, while big g was dropping bombs bigger than the one that made him.
Also the minilla i think is a reference to godzilla jr, the adopted son to Godzilla who was smaller than the real Godzilla
"I jus spit my gum out... THATS how excited i am!!!" made me laugh
Loving the reaction, and I'm stoked to see you at a million! I've been watching for a few years and these ERB reacts are my absolute fave; as someone who doesn't normally listen to a lot of rap, it's so cool to have it broken down by someone who's so passionate about the craft! Love what you do, Scru, we'll see you at the next million!
Yeah it felt like King Kong was better with punchlines and the technical side but it felt like Godzilla came in with the punches. The Jussie Smollett line was COLD
If it hasn't been said yet, the "I'll chew you up dawg, this Kong's getting conquered" bar was a play on words referencing a popular dog chew toy brand "KONG"
“Come at me with iron man and Thor I’ll still destroyah” Godzilla fought the avengers in marvel comics. Destroyah is also one of his most powerful enemies.
With Kong he had a lot of good lines but you would need to be a diehard Godzilla fan to understand why they hit so hard.
This was crazy man, thanks for the quick reaction Scru!
I binged on your ERB reactions on and off the past few years watching you break down and educate on what makes your favorite bars so killer. You make me look forward to this analysis every time another ERB drops. Congrats on reaching 1 million. I just subbed to get you on the way to 2! Keep it up, Scru! ✌👏
Godzilla's "here comes the airplane" line was the coldest in the battle but King Kong won overall IMO. Lloyd's flow switchups always get me hype!
Cole just dropped ... u know what that means
Forget Godzillla and King Kong... Young Simba is back.
Don't see it mentioned here but the very first verse when Godzilla calls him "dawg, Kong is getting conquered" is a play on the brand of chew toys called kongs
Already watched the ERB video and stoked for this reaction! @SFJ I love your reactions for ERB!
Love the dedication scru has for his boys at erb lol. I hope they bring you back for more battles dude
As a massive Kaiju fan I absolutely loved the references this was full of.
King's line about Frankenstein being a reference of how Godzilla vs Kong, the first one, was supposed to be Kong vs Frankenstein. All Monsters Attack and Recycled Crap that movie was full of recycled footage.
They definitely did their research on this.
“I’m the apex great ape, great with the ape axe” went insanely hard
Godzilla forever! And gratz on 1mill Jean! One of my favorite reacters!
