  • Here is my Wargames (WOPR) Simulator running on an IMSAI 8080esp (replica). The software is written in BASIC-80 and compiled. The IMSAI 8080esp is a kit from The High Nibble (thehighnibble..... This video demonstrates some of the features of the IMSAI 8080esp and the Wargames Simulator. Enjoy!

I absolutely love it!! I have one of these replicas and had a blast building it but haven't done anything else with it. This is so cool.

Great idea, been looking for something to do on my IMSAI 8080. Looking forward to how this develops.

Thanks John. I'm just in the process of including the code for the Tic-Tac-Toe routine. Hope to post another update soon.

Hi, I just assembled my misai replica and found your video, cool thing! Do you have maybe the disk image of your Wargames simulator? I fail so see how I can transfert the basic files into an image myself... Thanks 🙂

Hi Stephane. I have added a disk image to Github: github.com/zompiexx/wargames/blob/main/wargames.dsk
      1. mount disk image
      2. switch to the drive (e.g. A:)
      3. run command: mbasic wargames
      4. Enjoy!

Hello, I would love to run this on my Kaypro 10 ( specs: CPU Z80A
    SPEED 4 MHz
    RAM 64 KB
VRAM 4 KB) Is there anyway we could make contact an I could get a nudge in the right direction to get this working, or is it a no go? I noticed your notes on GIT gub and just need to ask some follow up questions? Thanks

Hi TJ. If you log an issue via Github with details of your setup and what you're trying to achieve, I'll see if I can steer you in the right direction.

    Awesome video. :)
Is there any chance you could hook up a speech synthesizer like in the movie, so one could hear Joshua talk?
