This one actually was starting to do the same and we have a pressure regulator as well. There’s a small valve on the back of the intake on this boat that manages the water flow going to the headers. This is in addition to the Bassett tee valve. We cut a slight amount of water back from going into the headers and it solved the problem
The install sheet that I got when i had to do work on my boat told me to use the bowl sealer around the bowl before you seat the transom plate to the haul, and seal the transom seal bead at the same time. pro jet boat guy told me the same thing as the install instructions as well.
There’s several ways to go about installing a transom cover. The kit will usually come with a base gasket and a big o-ring that goes around the bowl. A simple bead of silicone does a great job and doesn’t make removing the cover later difficult.
The old transom cover hung below the bottom of the boat. Noticed it when we pulled her off. So we put the white one on. Fits like it should now. If your transom cover is hanging below the boat, it’s a lip that can catch water and cause a bad day on the water. Ask me how I know hahahah.
We’re those Sunkist at one time? My dad had a Sunkist back in ‘79 or so exactly like that except 460 ford and different color scheme. Loved that thing.@@wcromedia
Why did you change the transom cover from blue to white? Can you not drill out the original blue cover? Also how did you mount the manual diverter handle? Just curious. Dope tech video. Beautiful boat also. Keep up the great content.
Thank you for the compliments! The old transom cover hung down below the bottom of the boat and we weren’t comfortable with that. So we put a new cover on and drilled it out. Better fitment. The diverter handle simply screws down into the subfloor with stainless screws. Some boats don’t have a subfloor, so in that case you would want to use a stringer mounted diverter handle.
Man, I'd have a hard time putting that nasty transom cover back on like that. Ideally, would have had it bead blasted and powder coated or painted but you probably didn't have time or customer didn't want to wait. I think I'd at least scuffed it up and rattled canned it white. Nice boat though.

If it’s done right from the start and the boat is put away dry and covered, it may even last longer than that! Lol

I don't know why you need silicon, A new Oring and Gasket works fine for me and how the factory did it.
Getting the silicone out was the worst part of working on our jet boats.

That's exactly why we didn't worry about the look of the cover. Earlier this year we pulled everything back apart and had the pump powder coated.
