Andrija Mohorovčić ... should definitely be mentioned. Famous meteorologist and seismologist. Mohorovičić made the greatest contribution to science with the discovery of discontinuities in the Earth's crust. Through a very thorough study of the Pokupsko earthquake of October 8, 1909, 39 kilometers southeast of Zagreb, Mohorovičić determined that at a certain depth of the Earth, the speed of propagation of the seismic wave changes rapidly, which he attributed to changes in the composition of the Earth's crust at a depth of 54 kilometers, at the location measurements in Pokupski. Numerous later studies have proven the existence of the boundary surface (speed discontinuity surface) of the uppermost part of the Earth and in other areas of our planet, so this surface was named Mohorovičić's discontinuity, or Moho for short, in his honor. It has been shown that the thickness of the Earth's crust, or the depth of the Mohorovicič discontinuity, is not the same everywhere and that it changes from place to place.

Tesla was born on the 10th of July 1856 the Parish of Gospic in an Austrian Empire (1804-1867), and was baptized 3 months later in the Eastern Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul (the Old Slavonic Church rite) next to the family home in an Austrian Empire, today (from 1918) part of Croatia (Smiljan, Lika). His father, Milutin Tesla, was born in the village of Raduc on February 3, 1819. He was a priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Smiljan and later in Gospic, Tesla's mother, Georgina Đuka Tesla was born in the village Tomingaj in 1822 into the family of Serbian orthodox priest Nikola Mandić (1800-1863), after whom Tesla got his name. Nikola Tesla had 3 sisters: Milka, Angelina, and Marica, and an older brother named Dane. Nikola Tesla obtained an Austrian national citizenship in 1856 - 1867, Croatian-Slavnonian local citizenship in 1861 - 1867, Croatian-Hungarian national citizenship/Croatian - Slavonian local citizenship in 1867 - 1891 and finally he obtained his American citizenship on the 30th of July 1891. Tesla was Austro-Hungarian by ”nationality” and Serbian by cultural heritage, so the "official nationality" of Tesla was "Hungarian" from 1867. This is just a label the authorities agreed on in the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867, it doesn't mean he had anything to do with Hungary. His ethnicity was Serbian, more specifically, his family was descended from the Serbs who had moved to the Austrian Empire in the late 17th century, escaping from the Ottomans, it is not sure that from 1867 Tesla's nationality would be Hungarian, if he did not acquired Austrian citizenship earlier, only from 1879 it would be possible. After the establishment of the Austro-Hungarian kingdom in 1867, Croatia became part of Hungary until the collapse of Austria-Hungary in 1918 following its defeat in World War I. On Oct. 29, 1918, Croatia proclaimed its independence and joined in union with Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia to form the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes. The name was changed to Yugoslavia in 1929. In Croatia, from 1941 to 1945, many members of the Nikola Tesla family were killed, and 11 of his closest relatives, three women and eight men, were killed in the concentration camp Jasenovac. Tesla's house in Smiljan, Croatia where he was born, was during the Yugoslav Wars burned down, but it where restored and reopened in 2006. On 7 January 1943, at the age of 86, Tesla died alone in Room 3327 of the Hotel New Yorker. It was Nikola Teslas last wish, that his ashes should be in Belgrade or anywhere in Serbia, also by his last will, he left everything he owned to the USA and Serbia (papers, stuff, plans, documents and diaries.). After death, his body was cremated and the ashes sent to Belgrade in 1957, since then, they have been on display inside a gold sphere at the Nikola Tesla Museum. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor who declared himself as "Serbian from Croatia". Globally, Tesla held more than 300 patents. In addition to his 112 U.S. patents, Tesla's patents totaled 192 in 26 other countries, some are: Tesla Coil, Radio, Induction Motor, alternating current (AC) and the shadowgraph etc.

Nikola Tesla was a Serb (a son of a Serbian Orthodox Church priest) born in Austro-Hungaria. One more interesting thing about Nikola Tesla is that his father, Milutin ( old Serbian name) was an orthodox priest, and his mother Georgina also came from an orthodox priest's family. Nikola had gambling problems when he was young, and he had unexplainable psychic conditions (visions ) For his funeral in America he requested a popular Serbian patriotic song from First World War named "Tamo daleko".

Josip Broz Tito was born in Kumrovec, Croatia. Kumrovec is a small village on the border with Slovenia, his mother was Slovenian and his father Croatian. He declared himself a Croat.
Nikola Tesla was a Serb (a son of a Serbian Orthodox Church priest) born in Austro-Hungaria. The Croats murdered almost all of his relatives in the genocide during WW2 and tore down his birth house, destroyed his monument and burnt down his birth village in the nineties when they cleansed most of the Serbs from Serbian Kraina.

There is a big lie about Tesla. He was born in Austro-Hungarian in ortodoks Serbian famili. His father was ortodoks prist. Tesla Nikola was Serb. All Tesla family was murded in Jasenovac concentration camp during ww2 by croatians because they were Serbs.
When will you serbian cetnik mythologists understand that there was no serbian orthodox church prior to 1922 when it was created more as a political terroristic movement. Tesla's family lineage comes from different places in Croatia on both sides. Serbs don't even know his proper family name. Tesla name is a nickname derived from the look of his grandfather's teeth. His grandfather was a catholic who converted to eastern greek orthodoxy when he fell in love with and married a orthodox girl. If you require more facts just reply 😂
Who exactly was murdered in Jasenovac from Tesla's close relatives? Nobody. Not saying that Jasenovac was a scout camp but there really is no need for lies related to Jasenovac because doing that you are not comemorating its real victims in a proper way. I know that you are servian and that's ok , nobody's perfect but you should really concentrate on your own crimes and myths and try to become a normal state and a normal nation
So all serbian rullers since 1389 to 1878 were born in Otoman empire....

Looks like almost all the famous Croatians were/ are male. 😮
Yeah, you really need to step up your game.
zlata bartl is not
Ivana Brlić Mazuranić is not male
Janica Kostelić is a male? Did you watch the video??
Lots of rubbish, they're Serbians of Catholics fate.
No wonder the comments are so vitriolic. You should learn the history first and don't meddle into things you don't know, hoping to score cheap sympathy or viewing clicks.
You should have titled this video ,,Famous people around the World, who were born on territory of nowadays Croatia''. But, it would still have been irrelevant. People abroad could think that this people are somehow connected with modern Croatia. Nikola Tesla was Austrian Serb, and Dubrovnik had no connection with Croatia in 18. century.
Dubrovnik was is croatian with croatian indentity. But they were unlike rest od Croatia smart. Didn't aloe sebičan priest or People to stay in side od the city wall. Italy had city states bit they were all Italians...
By your logici Serbia anext Vojvodina as srebra didn't live there and were small minority...
Nope tesla was a croatian serb by his own words, called croatia his homeland, that was a recognised state in austrian empire with its own government and parliament, you failed.

Many of these were born before Croatia existed. They were born in the Republic of Venice, the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy... Also, many of them are not even of Croatian origin.
Croatia existed before it lost her independence...
By this logici, Serbia should not take anything from Vojvodina. As Hera as it grabbed it later in history, and changes strukture of population...
@@zb7293 As for Vojvodina, I can agree with you. As for Croatia, I'm sure you're wrong. Try to forget what you were taught in school. Real history is different.
Croatia was a recognised state in austro hungarian empire, with a working parliament and government, your objection is invalid.
@@bagirabg Everything counts. People born in territory that is now Croatia and people of Croatian origin. But I see your point, the author of such list should explain what she means by "Croat".
Serbia was 500 years under turkey. All famous serb are turks then.
Regarding Nikola Tesla. He was born in K und K monarchy (Austro-Hungarian monarchy) in Serbian village of Smiljan, today Croatia) in Serbian Orthodox family from both sides. His father was Serbian Orthodox priest.
To make this short, whenever you turn the light on, turn your car on, put AC on, turn the heating on, board the plane…. say to yourself “thank you, Mr. Tesla”.

Gluposti! Nikola Tesla nije rođen u Hrvatskoj nego u Austro-Ugarskoj.

Ante Pavelić as well (actually in Herzegowina) a great Croat and a good catholic, probably the greates of all
Bila su dva. Koji?
Nikola Tesla was born in Austro Hungary, his father was a Serbian Orthodox priest. He was a Serb.
In Croatia (Lika) and his mother was??
hahahaha...so Serbia cannot claim celebrities born in Serbia during Yugoslavia or another period of history ...such as Ottoman Empire ? And it doesn't matter what ethnicity he was, he was indeed born in Croatia (he was back to visit Zagreb more times than Belgrade)
