Rob Greenwood's first experience of this US brand has impressed him. The Katabatic is a really good all-round walking shoe, he says, that'll do you for summer hill days, crag approaches, and even scrambling.

My wife and I are going to the UK in March. We won’t be hiking, just visiting a few cities. I’ve had my eye on these for my one shoe to pack, but would they be overkill?

They might be slight overkill, yes. Have you considered a comfy running shoe?

@@ukclimbingofficial Yes, nothing has really jumped out just yet. I have some Oboz hiking boots I really like so that’s what led me there. Thanks for the reply! Great video as well.

I'd recommend getting yourself to a shop with a wide selection and trying a few on - there's no substitute for getting them on your feet.

I speak from experience with prior foot issues. I pick my Oboz sawtooth every time! I go up a size in this brand, and the fit is incredible! Great footbed, sole is fantastic and overall so very comfortable! I highly recommend you go try a pair on and I think they'd be great for any amount of walking during vacations etc. Hoka I used to wear and still like those but this show is so much more durable and the stability can't be beat.
