270 degrees is all you need, so 6 out of 8 directions. so start from back, and roll to up/forward+punch (or kick, if that's what it is). Pushing punch at the same time as the jumping input, will ensure that you don't jump, allowing you to do SPDs from a standstill without jumping beforehand. Back, Down/Back, Down, Down/Forward, Forward, Up/Forward+Punch
On the "Hyrule Chokeslam", the music matched the combo SO well. How it picked up in intensity right as E.Ryu was taking in the darkness into that last punch, sublime.
Incredible video, great attention to detail, comparative notes from combo to combo on dmg and stun, and just an all around enjoyable tutorial to watch. Nice to see someone who's proud to put actual effort beyond timed button presses into their character tutorials.
Absolutely epic presentation! Honestly some of the best treatment of video content I have seen on youtube recently. Keep up the good work and show your video editing chops.
@wintez Touche! Something requested that I didn't actually put in the info. It is actually two different fonts, the first is "Angel Tears", and that is a font I used for all the brush stroke text, and also "video by". The other font is Feathergraphy, which I used to type out "lordofultima".
This has to be one of the most entertaining and creative combo tutorials I have seen. Keep up the awesome work. Now I'm gonna go practice my crouching liger hidden wagon techniques!
The love for the game. Best ElvisRoo vid ever! Thanks not just for teaching, for entertaining too. When Sako picks EvilRoo almost everyone just look like a f* tool box. Last time I fought a decent one, he kicked my a** pretty bad. A few normals here and there, then two combos with FADC, done! And the walk speed man, it's just insane. The best artwork in this game imo. Shin'nozō tomete kureru Satsui Ryū
This makes me proud to main evil ryu myself nothing is more reward than getting these combos online. And for those wondering how you do that in a heated match it's all about safe block string reactions and hit confirms
More stuff works now than it did before. Close strong is still under-utilized, as it allows combo into heavy axe kick (hard knockdown), ex shaku (juggles to ultra), light axe kick (for long stun combos), and medium axe kick (for BNB damage).
Thumbs up all the way and deserves a sub. Not only is it marvelously edit'd and done, but the detail on the step-by-step how-to's are fantastic ! Thanks man, definitely helped a lot !
Lord, Thank you for taking your time to make this fantastic video. If you provide more of this kind of quality video for other SF characters, I would gladly pay to see them
This video inspired me to learn and play Evil Ryu once Ultra Street Fighter 4 comes out. Keep up the good work, looking forward to watch more from you.
My favorite bible quote turned into a sick combo video with a Castlevania-esque theme and hilarious-but-fitting combo names? This is and whosnkn's Gen video are the best combo vids I've seen in the last few years. I could actually feel the scrubbiness of my Evil Ryu being burned away by the purifying information in this video. Shout outs to "The Lumbermill."
So glad you're making SF content again, welcome back man! Your video editing skills combined with your tutorial skills make you one of the best guide makers out there. Thanks for all your hard work!
@4evil2me well put, he is the ultimate glass cannon for damage. A much simpler approach, which is refreshing for me since I never could put to use every tool that Akuma had, because he had so many. I would just regurgitate on the screen with some mixup that I hope worked.
Would love this for other characters (been trying to find ANYTHING good for Juri/Yun really). This has to be the best tutorial/basic etc video I have ever seen.
Epic presentation and high class skill. Evil Ryu approved. Really, how the hell can a human possibly throw out this kind of hardcore combos in a real match ?
Well..I must say this was EXTREMELY WELL DONE. This was the first video I saw from you, and i was so impress with the level of detail and creativity you had during this video. Congrats on gaining at least 1 new subscriber. EXXXXXCELLENT (in my Mr. Burns voice.)
If you're canceling a fireball or dragon punch, try holding the forward button from the previous attack when you do the focus attack then you tap forward again and the dash happens. Like this: Down-forward(Hold forward)+punch, FA, (let go of forward) quickly tap forward, then do next attack. Any movement you do from a previous attack registers as movement for the next attack. You'll notice this when you do 2 fireballs really fast, shooting a fire then your super when using normal ryu.
Besides the nice stylistic cjpoce. this has to be one of the most useful tutorials I've ever seen. It's unlikely but if you did more characters it'd be a definite watch from me. Besides that, thanks fro making this
I think this is a really great video, and I don't even play street fighter anymore. Thanks for providing the specs of your hardware and software. I hope I can land a job to make some awesome videos like yours.
i was looking for a good combo video to help me spice my e ryu up and this is the meal ticket!. love the step by and and the stats on each combo and bnb
Amazing video editing as well as music choice. Never played Catherine, but these pieces make me want to.
holy shit this might be the best tutorial video i've ever seen
dude i'm so glad u made this video, it's relaxing, fun, and i like how u show how to do combos without making it complicated
What a freaking legendary video
Very stylish, really informative, and great music choice.
holy crap man i think your the first person to put your actual hand motion in the video thats a big help
hands down best combo video I've seen.
That video editing was so godlike
the best video, good job.
This video is a masterpiece, timeless.
editing ahead of its time
Everything is perfect in this video !
This is the most thorough, easy and clear combo/tip video out there.

The Presentation
The layout
The theme and music go well together
The arcade shtick
You, my lord, are a genius
On the "Hyrule Chokeslam", the music matched the combo SO well. How it picked up in intensity right as E.Ryu was taking in the darkness into that last punch, sublime.
2020 still my favorite 2d combo tutorial
Fast paced, well edited, extra info on the sides, slow mo and hands when needed; thanks for the great video.
Incredible video, great attention to detail, comparative notes from combo to combo on dmg and stun, and just an all around enjoyable tutorial to watch. Nice to see someone who's proud to put actual effort beyond timed button presses into their character tutorials.
This is the best video on youtube.
Absolutely epic presentation!
Honestly some of the best treatment of video content I have seen on youtube recently.
Keep up the good work and show your video editing chops.
This video has everything we could want and even better.
Info / editing / music / style / clean explenations
Perfect !
That was the sickest combo video I've seen in awhile. The style was top notch and it all looked practical and most importantly damaging. Good stuff.
Only 99k views? This is an abomination of justice. You're the only reason I starting using Evil Ryu, and the reason hes my favorite. Kudos.
Best Of E. Ryu Combo Video !!!
@wintez Touche! Something requested that I didn't actually put in the info. It is actually two different fonts, the first is "Angel Tears", and that is a font I used for all the brush stroke text, and also "video by". The other font is Feathergraphy, which I used to type out "lordofultima".
i like the catherine music thats in the background
This has to be one of the most entertaining and creative combo tutorials I have seen. Keep up the awesome work. Now I'm gonna go practice my crouching liger hidden wagon techniques!
That was the most amazingly philosophical quote I've ever seen. I'm going to learn, recite it, and love it!
The love for the game. Best ElvisRoo vid ever! Thanks not just for teaching, for entertaining too.
When Sako picks EvilRoo almost everyone just look like a f* tool box.

The best artwork in this game imo.
Shin'nozō tomete kureru
Satsui Ryū
One more thing I love about this video is that you waste no time. ie, you cut straight to the next combo in the set.
The presentation on this is so good. Great for beginners too.
This is with out a doubt the best character guide ever made. Thank you for putting this together.
Thumbs up all the way and deserves a sub.
Not only is it marvelously edit'd and done, but the detail on the step-by-step how-to's are fantastic !
Thanks man, definitely helped a lot !
I usually never comment on videos like this but I have to say this is the type of video that similar ones should use as a benchmark
really love the editing. Dont even play evil ryu but I loved the way you put this together
This is probably one of the most well made instructional videos I've seen, production-wise.
I am thoroughly impressed by this presentation and the thematic style of the video. Well done.
you sir are awesome. i especially like the sidebar that has the info for inputs, amount of damage and stun etc.
One of the most artistic video edits for this game. Excellent job dude!
I'll never forget this video. Taught me the combos I needed to make E. Ryu amazing for me. Glad I stuck with this character for this long.
Great combos,
a massive amount of easy to understand info,
video of hand execution,
really top notch editing,
Subscribed.
What a GORDEOUS video editing skill you have mr... You have my gratitude.
Excellent work. The bar has definitely been raised as far as combo vids go.
a lot of good information crammed into a short, sweet and well presented package. thanks a lot!
This video made me realize how awesome Catherine OST is. Thinking about playing just for that.
lol when I heard the Catherine tracks, I got PTSD thinking about it
I wanna learn Evil Ryu. This video is a great starting point for doing so. And it is beautifully designed. Great work!
Lord, Thank you for taking your time to make this fantastic video. If you provide more of this kind of quality video for other SF characters, I would gladly pay to see them
Usually I hate videos that have a bunch of effects over them, but this one was unique.
This video is awesome. Great editing and combo possibilities I didn't even know existed (j.mp, red fireball, ultra 1)
This video inspired me to learn and play Evil Ryu once Ultra Street Fighter 4 comes out. Keep up the good work, looking forward to watch more from you.
Your video editing skills are the most godlike of all.
love the catherine music and the input list. put together really well GJ
Man alive, that was a combo video and 1/2. I've always known Evil Ryu was sick. Thanks man for a very entertaining watch
This is easily the most well done ae video out there right now.
Good stuff man, hope to see more. You rock as always. Love seeing underrated characters shine.
Damn, that's some good production. Stuff like this is why I'm glad I automatically follow you on Giant Bomb.
This is awesome work here! So very well put together and informative. And the titles you gave for each combo were funny as well as catchy, good shit.
I've been waiting for this! Now lets see some matches. And by some, I mean dozens, if not hundreds! We must see your Evil Ryu in all his glory!
So glad you're making SF content again, welcome back man! Your video editing skills combined with your tutorial skills make you one of the best guide makers out there. Thanks for all your hard work!
One of the best videos ive seen in a while. This took alot of work for sure
i love the editing on this SO MUCH!
Dude, the editing on this video is phenomenal. Subbed.
I kind of dismissed Evil Ryu after playing him for a little bit, but this video makes me want to get him back in the lab. Keep up the good work.
This is masterfully edited! Not only was it informative, but fucking bad ass to watch too! Very nice, definitely subbed because of this vid.
Awesome editing man, I wish all combo videos were of this caliber!
The presentation of this video is phenomenal. You should do more, for sure.
beatifully made, edited and played
props to the editing!! should do this with more characters!!!
@4evil2me well put, he is the ultimate glass cannon for damage. A much simpler approach, which is refreshing for me since I never could put to use every tool that Akuma had, because he had so many. I would just regurgitate on the screen with some mixup that I hope worked.

Epic presentation and high class skill. Evil Ryu approved. Really, how the hell can a human possibly throw out this kind of hardcore combos in a real match ?
Wonderful! loltima, you truly outdid yourself this time, didn't you? This video is AMAZING. You've done such a good job!
I remember watching this on my old account over a year ago. I kept on looking for the video and stumbled upon it by accident.. Lol, favorited again
Well..I must say this was EXTREMELY WELL DONE. This was the first video I saw from you, and i was so impress with the level of detail and creativity you had during this video. Congrats on gaining at least 1 new subscriber. EXXXXXCELLENT (in my Mr. Burns voice.)
You made a great work editing this video, sr. I salute you!
Nice combos by the way!
Music is right in the info. Classical compositions that are featured in Catherine, and the last song is a remix from Xenogears.
very well done and damned classy. id love to see anything else you can show off whenever you get some time
I don't know how people are giving this video thumbs down, great presentation man, really helped me out with my E. Ryu game.
If you're canceling a fireball or dragon punch, try holding the forward button from the previous attack when you do the focus attack then you tap forward again and the dash happens.

editing is epic, so entertaining to watch. combos were bnbs. good video man!
Love this video! Beautiful compilation and super accessible! I like Evil Ryu too, but why is he regarded as a low tier character. He's so stylish!
Doing the Focus attack cancels to do combos are really tough for me but you made it seem like nothing, nice job!
Besides the nice stylistic cjpoce. this has to be one of the most useful tutorials I've ever seen. It's unlikely but if you did more characters it'd be a definite watch from me. Besides that, thanks fro making this
best sf4 vid I've ever seen. great work man. I'll sub for sure bro.
The combos are great and professional edition, never seen anything like it.
Good choice of music. Fantastic video editing too.
I can only imagine the sum of work put into the video editing. Good job ! =D
Brilliant production. Keep up the awesome work!
It's a madcatz SE. You get them at their online store, or at GameStop or wherever video games are sold.
DAM dude! amazing video! Thanks for all the help!! Love the Akuma video too!
Although this probably the BEST Evil Ryu combo video I've ever seen. I would've liked to see more non-meter combos/Ultra combos. Great video still.
I think this is a really great video, and I don't even play street fighter anymore. Thanks for providing the specs of your hardware and software. I hope I can land a job to make some awesome videos like yours.
Amazing job with the presentation there. Epic combo's too :).
I think you've inspired me to work on my video editing then my evil ryu game play. Awesome video man!
i was looking for a good combo video to help me spice my e ryu up and this is the meal ticket!. love the step by and and the stats on each combo and bnb
