Thanks for the video! This helped me massively, I did a complete rejig of the my conversion goals and saw performance improve significantly. A question I do have however, I cannot tell whether to include multiple conversion actions as primary actions to influence automated bidding? Ideally my KPI is just one conversion action, but there are additional steps a customer could take which would improve the value of those users, I do see that if I do include them as primary conversion actions, the overall Cost/Conv. does go down but it doesn't always correlate to the KPI that I am working to. I just wanted to know if there is a best practice to how many primary conversions to use?
Thank you. This was an amazing short summary. I had misunderstood the primary and secondary - so it's often (always?) to have a different method for tracking the exact same action? Seeing if all methods work properly, while avoiding duplicates?
My problem is that I have multiple sites in different fields, and I want to use purchase as goals the goal for all of them. But I have to add purchase for all the sites under the same purchase conversion goal in the settings, it’s not possible to split them up while still being in the purchase conversions goal settings. So when I create a campaign and want to choose purchase as the goal, all the goals from the others sites will be included as well. But I just want to pick one of them. I feel like this must hurt the Google learning algorithm since it thinks I’m after conversions that my other sites use that I’m not. I wanted to just create more Google ads accounts but that isn’t allowed since the sites are under the same business. But different fields. You know how to deal with this?
This was an amazing breakdown of conversion goals😃👍👏💪 Ive been looking for this explanation for 2 days on TH-cam. My question is we have a limo business. We do paid bookings thru our site. Should our goal be book appointment or purchase?🤔 Technically you book the appointment first but to complete the booking you have to pay. In addition im using phone call from website with with the goal of lead for our other default goal. Thanks so much. Porter
I'd track both just to see which ones are coming from ads. You can always adjust the primary and secondary goal settings to better meet your reporting in the future.

Good explanation! Keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
You mentioned that Primary Goals won't be used for optimisation unless they are also A/C default goals - is that right?
thanks for this organized info
Glad it was helpful!
