Enregistré au château de Blois en février 2014.

Honestly the beat drop (the whole consort coming in) at 1:20 just sells this interpretation as the best one beating the legendary Jordi Savall by far. Had this blasting in my car going to school :P

Yes! Jordi is the top-dog on this stuff of course. But his lack of reeds with this type of music can sometimes leave me wanting more.
Savall did record this (with Les Concert des Nations, it's on yt) with reeds! I used to blast THAT version in my car going to school, years ago!! haha. I agree though that this is also an excellent, rousing interpretation of the piece. :)

Il est soit disant composé par Pierre Attaignant (16ème) collecté par Philidor l'Aisné (décédé en 1652)au 17ème et nous le retrouvons dans un recueil "The English Dancing Master" de John Playford sous le nom de Parson's Farewell édité et publié en 1651.
