- The teaching of the pre-tribulation rapture of the church has fallen victim to much scrutiny, especially over the last couple of centuries. How can we know that the church is going to be raptured before God’s wrath is poured out on this world? Will there even be a rapture? In his new teaching, The Rapture According to the Early Church, Pastor Mike Golay not only presents Scripture that provides clarity on this topic, but he cites a number of early church fathers to reveal their confidence in a pre-tribulation rapture.

@Matthew Curry Only the bride of Christ hears His voice. This teachings are not for you my friend. You certainly do not belong to the King yet. It's possible for you to be saved though. Jesus said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life". God gave you a free will for a purpose. If you choose to spend eternity in hell with satan and his demons, no one will miss you in heaven. God does not need you to be complete or perfect. He is the same forever whether you believe this or not. What do you have to lose by surrendering yourself to Him? But you will lose everything when death comes for you as it must. Eternity is too long a time to be in torment in the lake of fire. Choose wisely.
I'm not of this world I'm only finishing the race for God's Glory. I have such a urgency in my spirit. To reach the lost before it's to late God have Mercy on them.

When Peter addresses eschatological views... he calls the one derived from twisting Paul's teaching as "wicked"... 2 Peter 3:10-18. There is only one eschatological doctrine is derived from just Paul's teaching and no other. It is called the Pretrib Rapture Doctrine. It comes from the idea that Paul revealed a new mysterious event... 1 Cor 15:51,52, However, Paul calls the event the "resurrection of the dead" in verse 42. Which is addressed as early as Job 14:12, and Jesus and Martha dialogued about it in John 11 concerning Lazarus raising on "the last day". Paul never taught a rapture prior to tribulation. So when Peter addresses the twisting of Paul's teaching on this matter, there is only one doctrinal ideal that he can be referring to. If you are pretrib, you need to at least cast blame on a different doctrine other than on the cult of dispensationalism and it's pretrib rapture. Unfortunately... all fingers point at this view... no other view points to Paul's teaching alone.... the Word of God calls those who have it as "wicked". Every argument for a pretrib rapture and dispensationalism is birthed in deceit.

The early church Fathers did not all believe in a pretrib rapture. Iraneaus did not. The Shepherd of Hermas did not. Even Dr Tommy Ice and Dr Dsvid Reagan admitted the overwhelming majority of the early church believed post trib.
Check out Joel Richardson's teaching on the early church fathers and the rapture. Richardon emailed Golay amd asked about his views. Golay responded that he would get back to Richardson. He never did. Its all there. You can check it out for yourself if you'd like.

This is exactly the confusion you guys have concerning the timing of the rapture. As holding to the post trib rapture we too believe we’re not appointed to Gods wrath because Jesus received that punishment for us. Your confusion lies in your understanding of what the tribulation is. The tribulation isn’t the wrath of God, the tribulation is the wrath of Satan, a time of severe trouble and persecution that takes place before the wrath of God orchestrated by the Antichrist. The church will go through the tribulation but will be raptured just before the wrath of God. Read your bibles more carefully brothers and sisters.
@@danieljohnson613 im gonna open up a can of worms here, and I've yet to listen t this video, but if I read Revelation from start to finish assuming it is chronological there are THREE raptures and possibly a 4th implied but not stated. Not 1. ALL of them are PRE, as in occurring before the return of the messiah. ZERO afterwards.
We're not appointed to God's wrath because we are under the his atonement. IF the messiah isn't accepted, you are not under his atonement. This tribulation is exactly what this has to do with. The tribulation is how Israel specifically is going to accept the messiah. They are going through this over his rejection and through it are being purified until the end.
To saynits Satan's I think is an error as the judgements listed in the book are not Satan's but God's and it specifically in the beginning called the wrath of the lamb, and explicitly near te End called the wrath of God. Which, if I read John correctly is more or less saying the exact same thing. He sees the two as one.

Also Revelation 6:16-17 "and they *said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the [fn]presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Also, Revelation 14:10 "he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed [fn]in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and [fn]brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb." God's wrath - through and through. Who is in charge? God.Who is sovereign? God. Maybe read more carefully the Scriptures. Clearly God's wrath. No way around it.

Not so. Our hospitals are overwhelmed. Treatments and surgeries for other diseases are deferred and canceled while the hospitals assign a disproportionate amount of resources to treat the unprotected. In the area in which I live, the 20% take up 80% of the resources. Amazing how the defiant who refuse protection are the first to stand in line to demand treatment. First we had the smokers, the alcoholics, then the drug users, and now we have the superstitious.

@@vanessab2726 Where I live, nobody has been fired yet. Staffing is not the issue as staff from surgery, medicine, etc are moved over to ICU to maximize the number of beds in ICU. It is the infrastructure. My friend who was suffering from an aortic aneurysm was placed in the hallway as all of the ICU beds were occupied, many by unvaccinated Covid patients. She survived, but the hospital priorities are reversed. People who do not help themselves: smokers, alcoholics, drug users, and the superstitious anti-vaxers should go to the back of the line.

We believers are not destined to wrath. Some think the "church" must be perfected by going through the Tribulation. We will be made perfect someday because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross. You do not have to prove yourself by going through Jacob's Trouble. That time is for unbelievers to come to believe in Jesus as their Savior or not and for God's judgement on the earth.

Yes and I hope you understand that not once in the whole entirety of biblical scripture does God equate tribulation with wrath. Neither is there any place in scripture that describes a 7 year period called “the tribulation”
And the trib is for the Jews who are still covered by Gods first covenant. They will be part of the 2 witnesses witnessing during the trib.

It makes no sense that Jesus would call us up to the clouds to be with him if its at the second coming, just to turn around and come right back to earth with Jesus to rule and reign. Thessalonians does not match up with the second coming. I do not question Gods word and neither should you! There’s nothing false about Enoch, Elijah, being called up to heaven. Never question Gods capabilities. But besides the Bible does teach of a calling up, that will be a seperate event from the second coming.

If the Pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine was Scriptural, as Mike herein claims, it would not be utterly contradicted by Scripture:
1) Our Rapture occurs only after the dead in Christ are raised (1Th 4:15-17). Thus, the time of our rapture is controlled by the time of the resurrection of believers.
2) All those coming toward Jesus will be resurrected in "The Last Day" (Jn 6:39,40,44,54) and receive imperishable bodies at "The Last Trumpet" (1Cor 25:51-52).
3) All those belonging to Jesus will be made alive immediately before "The End", when He delivers the Kingdom to His Father, after he has annulled all rule, power and authority (1Cor 15:23-24), including the "Man of Lawlessness", by the appearance of His "Parousia" (coming) (2Th 2:8).
Since the Truth can never, ever contradict Scripture, "Pre-Tribulation" rapture believers need to Biblically harmonize how the resurrection of of the dead in Christ can possibly occur before the "First Resurrection" (Rev 20:4-5), which must occur sometime after the "Beast" beheads some of the Faithful. They also need to Biblically harmonize how "The Last Day", "The Last Trumpet", and "The End resurrections can possibly occur before the "Last 7 Years", especially since a "Great Trumpet" is reported after the sun is darkened, the stars fall, and the Son of Man is seen coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, to "Episunago" (completely-gather-together) His Elect from out of the extremes of heaven and earth (Mt 24:31, Mk 13:27)..
Biblically, any Pre-Tribulation rapture looks Biblically impossible.
Don't be deceived by ear-tickling myths, Beloved within Christ. Trust your Bibles, in order that you won't be surprised and without "oil", when your Bridegroom arrives ~7 years after many have been teaching, and millions are presently expecting.

An imminent "Pre-Tribulation" rapture is a "construction", in which 2 comings are needed, and therefore, postulated, even though the associated Greek grammar allows only one: "The Parousia-coming", in which, both the Greek article and noun are always singular. While Pre-Trib teachers acknowledge that 1Th 4:15-17 teaches that the "Harpadzo"-rapture follows the resurrection of dead believers, I have never heard any Pre-Trib teacher explain:
1) How a Pre-Trib resurrection can occur before the "First Resurrection" (Rev 20:4-5).
2) How the "Last Day" resurrection promises of Jesus (Jn 6:39,40,44,54) can possibly occur before "The End of the Days", when Daniel will be resurrected to be stood in his allotted place (Dan 12:13).
3) How "The Last Trumpet" resurrection can possibly occur ~7 years before the mega-great trumpet heard after the sun has been darkened and the stars fall. (Mt 24:39-31), especially when trumpets are heard in Israel on the last day of each (annual) "Feast of Trumpets".
Regarding Why?
1) Money and popularity. A Pre-Tribulation rescue tickles the fleshly ears of fearful, Biblically illiterate followers.
2) Arminian preachers use "Imminency" to "scare" people into immediately "surrendering" their lives to Jesus, not recognizing that being born "Anothen" from above (Jn 3:3), as well as, having been chosen from the foundation of the cosmos, and predestined into adoption as sons (Eph 1:4-5) all result from God's unmerited grace that depends upon nothing that I have any control over.
3) Anyone willing to ignore scriptures that contradict their salvation beliefs, can easily be enticed to ignore scriptures that contradict their rapture beliefs. No big deal.
@@alanlietzke5738 Nope...the rapture is not Jesus coming back to the world...believers will meet him in the air. Also...notice that the trumpet mentioned in 2nd Thessalonians is "the trumpet of God"...but the seventh trumpet in Revelation is an "angels trumpet" NOT THE SAME THING AT ALL. Evidently you didn't listen to the point he made that this IS a teaching of the early church. We have a problem in society today...we have people who have been stupefied , and do not understand the basic building blocks of reality. For example, they do not understand that it is financially unwise to continually spend more than you earn. This stupefaction has spread into Christianity , where Christians have gotten away from understanding DOCTRINE and it's importance in Biblical interpretation. here's a fundamental Doctrine that affects your understanding of whether or not the pre-trib rapture is scriptural, and it comes from an overlooked scripture.
1st John ch 4 : 1-3 which says....

OK...what is so important about Jesus coming in the flesh that it becomes a measuring tool that separates God's teaching from the evil spirit behind heresy? We are sinners and we are flesh. Jesus came and took on our flesh, so that he could take our sin upon himself...and the WRATH of God ...which we deserved for our sin. This is SALVATION...being saved from our sin...and God's WRATH. So when anyone teaches or believes that Christians will again be subjected to the WRATH of God which is what the Tribulation is...even the evil people know it's God's Wrath. This is actually a form of denial that Jesus came in the flesh...now...do you understand how serious a matter it is to deny the pre-trib rapture ? And do you now understand that it is the spirit of the anti-christ that is behind the teaching that God has appointed the Church unto wrath. The pre-trib rapture IS an implication of Jesus coming in the flesh...deny it, and you deny that Jesus came in the flesh.

Whether we believe in pre, post or mid tribulation makes NO difference to our eternity with Him. It is not something that we should be divided about as true Christians. It is a tool of the enemy to create division between the church & the church body. What’s important is that we are NOT appointed to wrath, He will mark His people(Rev). Pre trib makes many people comfortable in their faith, where it’s just not that important “ because we’ll be gone before that”. Just like once faced always saved. Don’t fall for it- we must take up our cross daily. We must continue to prepare our hearts, souls and minds as if we will be here til the end. Amen and Amen, ALL glory to God.
We are not to be divided or let heresies linger- not calling them out brings darkness upon the church. Our prophets did not give their lives to have their work twisted in to lies and trashed. The AC tramples truth to the ground! Stand up for Christ not cowards!

My main questions to those who hold extremely tight to the Pre-Trib Rapture... Why did most of the Pharisees not recognize Jesus as the Messiah? Is it because they failed to read scripture? Or, was it because they listened to an interpretation hundreds of years prior to Jesus' Birth that caused them to wait for the wrong Messiah? I believe it is the latter of the two. We know they Loved God to the point of giving their whole life to the service (like many today), reading and studying and waiting for that day to come. Some, in fact most, Jews even wait to this day. Are we so arrogant that we do not believe the devil would influence our interpretation in the last days so many, if not most would not be ready for Gods timing of the end of this age? I say to hold on to the hope of pre-trib, but be prepared to last until the last person who will accept Jesus as Lord and Savior does, then that blessing of Harvest will be fulfilled...

The Didache and 1Thes. 4 have actually just convinced me in a post-Trib rapture. I don’t know how you can’t see it.

Rapture will happen after the abomination of desolation. When Israel reject the antichrist, Jacob troubles will start which is Great Tribulation, which is God's wrath.
The Great tribulation has to do with the believers, that's us if we are still alive, believers are going to be persecuted for Jesus Name which is not associated with God's wrath.
It's clear that yes, there is a post-trib rapture! But that's the LAST one. The FIRST one is the one you want to be ready for. It seems you've missed the scriptures that apply to that one.
The circumstances and conditions between the two times---are very different. If you look for the differences--you will see it. 2 completely different times.

I work with an Albanian-Greek who learned/studied old and modern Greek in school. He is a Catholic who reads the Bible in Greek here and there. I let him read 1Thess 4:16 of the Textus Receptus and the Byzantine/Majority Text. He said, they mean the same but the Textus Receptus is harder to read. Then just today I let him1Thess 4:16 from his App in Greek.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: - KJV
He told me that when Jesus descend from heaven, He will be the one giving the shout or command. And when He does, He will have a voice of an Archangel. And Jesus will also be the one having and sounding the trumpet. In response the dead will rise. So it's all Jesus. No wonder why the reflexive pronoun singular *"himself"* is there.
So to all who are still arguing that the 7th trumpet to be the last trumpet or trumpet of God beware. Not that you are making the 7th angel to be God and God to be an angel.

None of the Church fathers taught a Pre-Trib rapture except in the sense of being "pre-Great Tribulation." The Great Tribulations, which starts at the midpoint of Daniel's 70th week, demands a Mid-Trib rapture. No more, no less.
Pastor Mike, I literally asked the Holy Spirit about clearing up the end times tribulation confusion for me. Many pastors have so many differences in opinions about this subject. You did such an amazing job and with great details and it clearly states in Revelation that the church will be kept from the "hour of trial" This was an amazing teaching and I love your sense of humor.
Who does Paul write his epistles to?
A. The church age
B. The tribulation saints
When Peter addresses eschatological views... he calls the one derived from twisting Paul's teaching as "wicked"... 2 Peter 3:10-18. There is only one eschatological doctrine is derived from just Paul's teaching and no other. It is called the Pretrib Rapture Doctrine. It comes from the idea that Paul revealed a new mysterious event... 1 Cor 15:51,52, However, Paul calls the event the "resurrection of the dead" in verse 42. Which is addressed as early as Job 14:12, and Jesus and Martha dialogued about it in John 11 concerning Lazarus raising on "the last day". Paul never taught a rapture prior to tribulation. So when Peter addresses the twisting of Paul's teaching on this matter, there is only one doctrinal ideal that he can be referring to. If you are pretrib, you need to at least cast blame on a different doctrine other than on the cult of dispensationalism and it's pretrib rapture. Unfortunately... all fingers point at this view... no other view points to Paul's teaching alone.... the Word of God calls those who have it as "wicked". Every argument for a pretrib rapture and dispensationalism is birthed in deceit.
@@jayrodriguez84 Amazing how may deceptive terms must be conjured out of thin air in order to present the pretrib fable: "rapture", "tribulation saints", "church age", "second coming", etc. Paul called the event "the resurrection of the dead"... 1 Cor 15:42-54, which is what he didn't want us ignorant about in 1 Thess 4:13-18. The resurrection of the dead does not occur until the heavens are destroyed with a great noise... Job 14;12, 2 Peter 3:10, matt 24:35,36, Mark 13:31,32. Those martyred for not taking the mark are resurrected at the FIRST resurrection... Rev. 20:4-6. Every argument for a rapture is birthed in deceit.
@@RandyRoth-mo3lz Paul tells the church that the Day of the Lord should not overtake us since we are not in darkness. How could this day overtake us if the church had already been raptured since the day of the Lord happens far into the tribulation. This is another way to 100% rule out a pre tribulation rapture.
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
