How did he get it go go on to that view of a sampler? He starts the video without showing how he opened up the sample. P.S im not implying hes at fault for not showing its probably really obvious but if anyone can help pls do xx
You’re the single greatest TH-camr. Puppet that I HAVE to take seriously. Great information. And WholeLoops is GENIUS. Your ad was fantastic. I love it, subbed.
Bruh, I just thought to myself, "wtf, I haven't seen a new Reid Stefan tutorial in a minute let me check in to make sure i didn't miss anything". and boom.
One ableton tip so you don't go insaine by having too much latancy (unwanted audio lag) is to just turn the latency number down in settings. That is so easy and nice tutorial dude. I think Garageband is not as bad as some say it is, but yes you can do more things in other softwares like edit audio (actual instuemnt sound) and midi way more. I think Protools is the hardest to master out of all the popular programs I have tried. Out of all the programs I have tried, Ableton and Logic are the best. I have learned Protools a bit when I was in a music school. I like Garageband/Logic and Ableton for the for ease of use and look. I got a bunch of stuff down in Abelton from watching videos way faster then Protools when I learned how to use it better at a music school. Ableton is so good for doing midi stuff and really deep editing for midi easier than protools. You can even add a custom sample kit to pads on a midi device that has pads super easily which I love. People should really get to try out different prograns before they buy them though and I am glad I tried protools which I could use decently with someone who has it, but I hate protools because of how many problems I got and some of them are hard to fix and the ugly af user interface 😂 I hate how prootools is the most used just because it didn't get discontinued after the first daw was made so it was the sencond daw to be made, but at least I know how to use it decently now.
Sometimes it's hard to tell what you're actually pressing... you just press a button, a menu pops up and it's gone right after. I suppose these are for people who already know what they're doing.
I came to read the comments while watching the video, then the whole loops ad comes on. I legit thought I was listening to a real ad. 😂😂 I used to work at Whole Foods so this makes me laugh.

Probably just for simplicity. The drum samples sound like they've already been individually processed so it wouldn't be necessary to use the drum rack. I you were say chopping a break, it would make more sense to use the drum rack so you could individually eq each chop. Hope that helps!
Aye I know I'm late to the video but can anyone tell me what he did so when he dragged the midi drums out, the drums kept repeating. Like as if they were looping and didn't have to create the drums again. Thanks in advance
Please can someone tell me how to stretch the sample like this in order to match the bpm after the clip has been chopped??? I’m sick of setting time markers on my vocals only for it to sound shite 🤦🏻♂️ Any help much appreciated
a good tip is to not quantize the sample perfectly because it emulates a real human playing the kalimba (nobody has perfect rhythm) edit: another tip is to keep the rest of the sample in case you wanna use another part of it
Hey Reid, thanks for the great video. What's the legal deal with getting samples from TH-cam like this? I'd hate to do this, make a nice track, and then come into issues later on. Thanks for all your work!

I gotta rewatch the warping technic. I mostly use simpler with my samples and don’t really have the need to warp. Does it make sense to warp your sample, then drop it into simpler? Dont know if its worth the trouble of adding warp markers to your sample manually the using simpler to chop.
why does my midid track dont have volume faders, the only way to adjust the volume is to go on the sample controls and change the volume, and you seem to have fader knobs on each midi track
Every time he says the little "aye" I feel more and more relaxed
Soothing af
I was about to comment the same thing lol
There’s something about the puppet that makes learning all this shit a lot less tedious. Thank u!
came for sampling, catched by the voice, stayed for the beat and came back for the puppet. Love this.
15:42 That clearing of the throat killed me
Idk if I saw this back when it was new but now that I’m practicing AL 11 intro it’s starting to make sense now!!! I have to buy some of your packs!!!
This is everything I'm practicing every time I open my DAW to write and sample. Thank you Reid!

The puppet is very entertaining, but I wish it took up a little less of the screen so we could see more of your workflow.

Puppet is nice, but it overrules the screen from time to time. Nice vids, great job!
I like it
But it is quite fun when he nods to the metronome 😂
Bruh, I just thought to myself, "wtf, I haven't seen a new Reid Stefan tutorial in a minute let me check in to make sure i didn't miss anything". and boom.
Nice tips! I've always used the session view for warping. Arrangement view seems way easier for this. You've converted me!

Eaaaaaahhhhhhheeeeeeeiiiiiiiiits Reid Stephen
Yo Reid! Great video man, helped a lot.
Thank you so much!
what did you use to shortcut all the keys you used for recording the drums? im guessing you mapped em, in which case, how do you do so?
i love you deeply man!
Why are you using Impulse instead of a drum rack, is the sound better or is there some another reason? Help.
Probably just for simplicity. The drum samples sound like they've already been individually processed so it wouldn't be necessary to use the drum rack. I you were say chopping a break, it would make more sense to use the drum rack so you could individually eq each chop. Hope that helps!

killyamomz yeah you can warp and then resample it to further manipulate it with simpler
is there a way to check the specs of the quality of the audio on TH-cam?
This is the producer version of The Joy Of Painting.
What were you doing in the beginning when you turned on the metronome and clicked the bpm to make the sample expand?
Anyone that reads this is welcome to answer bc for me, time warping is the most difficult part of ableton
why does my midid track dont have volume faders, the only way to adjust the volume is to go on the sample controls and change the volume, and you seem to have fader knobs on each midi track
Is the Command J function the same as hitting the warp button within the sample's clip view?
lewchootrain command J creates a new clip out of whatever you have selected on the timeline
