      @@willsvanadventures I fitted one of these to my last Discovery to help keep the air fresh for the dogs. It also worked well when I went camping and sleeping in the motor although on a windy night the noise was noticeable but not overly intrusive. I was delighted with mine.

      @@roddyk05 hey, that's great to hear. I'm glad it made a difference. Yeah the noise does build up especially when you're on the motorway as well haha. I noticed that it's a lot cooler in the back due to the air. But I've had zero issue's with condensation since fitting it.

    Can I ask why you never went for the slimline one?

      Thank you! Glad the video has helped! I worked with the company Flettner who provided the vent. That was just the one that they sent me. I believe they may be interested in me fitting the slim one and creating a new video though.

    Do you notice much noise from the vent when its spinning ? I have one originally on my ex BG van whilst doing a conversion and OMG its doing my head in the noise. Not sure if its just maybe the bearing needs replaced or the whole vent itself, but something i want to tackle before sorting the roof on the van for obvious reasons...

    • @willsvanadventures
      @willsvanadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, nah mines been super quiet. I think as you say it must be the bearing. If you email flettner, assuming it's that make. They are super helpful and I'm sure will send you out the parts you need to fix the issue. 😊

      I fitted one of these in a van I had many years ago, mainly to vent fumes etc from the van, I carried a lot of paints and thinners in the back. I have to say the one I had made one hell of a droning noise at certain speeds of driving almost drove me mad. Have since then resisted the idea of fitting one to other vans i've had over the years.

    What's the size from the top of the vent on the outside to the roof of the van? I bought a think roof rack and want one of these vents but wanting to make sure it will not protrude the top of the roof rack

    • @willsvanadventures
      @willsvanadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it's about 11cm high from the van roof. I thought exactly the same once I had fitted it but it'll be fine depending where you place the roof racks. Do you have a caddy as well?

      @@willsvanadventures Thanks for your response. I'm just starting to build my van and looking for options. My van is in Minnesota, so I'm worried about how cold it will get with the Flettner. Is it a good option with cold weather to keep the warm inside and moist out?

    • @willsvanadventures
      @willsvanadventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IgnisFatuusblog hey, ah that's really cool! Hope it goes well! And I'm not sure to be honest. It will be colder as you'll have a hole in the roof and I'm not sure how cold it gets there so whether it'll be a good idea? My best advice would be to check out a few online to see which best suits your needs. For the UK the flettner is great but it's no way as cold.

    How is the fletnner 2000 with water? Can you go through a carwash with these vents without leuling water into your van?

    • @willsvanadventures
      @willsvanadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      It hasn't leaked at tall in over a year so seems great! I'm not sure about a car wash as I've never use one as they do scratch your van to pieces! Sorry! But deffo recommend always washing your car properly with snowfoam etc and by hand and never use a car wash machine!
