Dear Ben, thank you for the review. The reel has arrived in Germany and I brought mine (5/6) last week. I use it for freshwater fishing on my Centric 9.6 ft #5. which it balances perfectly. The reel is a nice addition to the very small line up of heavier reels to balance rods longer than 9.6 ft.
The curved shape of the reel taken from the Colorado is very nice, the spool has more than enough space to harbor sinking lines. And the break…..- apart from bei g super strong which is a feature I don‘t need it is by far the best adjustable break I have on any of my reels. It starts so smooth to protect a 7X tippet when nymphing but can be easily adjusted to prevent the escape of any fish species out there. The adjustment is more precise than on any Sage reel including the ESN. Well done Ross!

This would be awesome for some steelhead/spey applications. Also, I believe the semi caged design is to accommodate thin running lines on spey-style shooting heads
