Dear Rabbi I just wanted to share with you that I was part of that solidarity rally at Washington DC yesterday and I have never felt so proud to be jewish! It was beautiful peaceful to see so many people come together and shine our light especially during this month before Hanukkah thank you for your inspiration as always and maybe we can continue to shine our light and bring everyone home
and I really liked watching all of you there...thank you for making the effort...Ishay Ribo was great music.

It’s interesting what you say about 40 days since Hoshana Rabba. HaShem has cleared out a lot of “chaff” in my life since then. But I feel like Light has returned in the last 24hrs. The hand of HaShem truly is everywhere, and He truly is the only One we can trust, the only truth.

Actually, I learned from a rabbi at Ohr Somayach that when we begin a blessing, "Blessed are YOU, HaSh-m, King of the Universe..." we are acknowledging that HaSh-m is the source of all blessing. That's the mindset we should have when we begin a bracha.

Wow, this video reminded me of a subject I evoked with my friends concerning the children of Jacob, and how if the males are the regular months and Dinah is Adar Aleph, the filler month, then the death of Rachel with the birth of Benjamin is the beginning of the year, Nisan. Which tends to suggest to me that there is an understanding of why Kaddish is read 11 months for someone who departs, to me, this is because the Kaddish leads the person through the months he was not born into until he reaches the gate through which he came in order to ascend above.
When Rabbi Anava asks for comments, I comment. The sorrows of the world have certainly frayed the last threads of my faith, but these shiurim are encouraging. ❤

The part where you explained about we don’t have the “vessel” to really understand why the tragedies in our life are good for us suits exactly with the story of a lady I watched in an channel about NDE. She reported what she “saw” in the world beyond. She was out of the body as she almost died swimming in the sea with her husband. Her husband died but she survived. She said later followings: “when I was on the other side I could understand why my husband had to die but I didn’t . This was explained to me and it was so clear and correct. But that happened in another level, in the spiritual level. When I came back to this material level it was impossible to understand let alone to accept”
