#1 for me by far is making promotion/relegation based on points instead of rider ability, or at least giving a points vs. classic mode option at start of save. I could think up a dozen different challenge saves that would be fun if pro/rel was based on your actual results, that are impossible under the current system.
With the UCI shifting to a 3 year points based system I think they would mimic that. The popularity based system is what got Israel Premier Tech and Bora Hansgrohe their licenses with the additions of Froome and Sagan. It clearly makes more sense to have a system based on performance.
Absolutely. They don't have to put it on a three-year cycle like real life, since that move was made to give more stability, which is a necessary feature in a management game.
Facilities - Headquarters, gym, tactical centre, marketing, etc. All upgrades add perks to the team such as £xxx per week income, 0.2% increase in sprint train speed, faster levelling up. Could be tied into sponsor objectives and merch sales.
1. Being able to manage your U23 team. 2. Possibility to add juniors and amateur races and teams for more depth. Especially in Pro Cyclist mode 3. DEM files for the whole world, would make life as a stage maker much easier. 4. More IBs for the stage editor, e.g. for South American or Asian buildings. 5. Better promotion/relegation 6. Transfer system needs an overhaul. 7. All Continental Championships
A lot of potential improvements, but my number 1 is still to have a bit more variety in riders in career mode... especially in terms of team composition. The current best strategy of building a team is to sign youngsters to 3-4 year contracts and after 2 years they can be top riders. Signing older riders is just too expensive for what they are worth. There is also no feeling of riders having a personality, they are just numbers. Some changes that I would suggest for this: 1. Experience should be an important required skill in a team. Even teams like Sport Vlaanderen usually have a road captain who helps mentoring youngsters. 2. Rider traits (aka. good mentor, team player, egoistical, reliable, inconsistent, crash prone, etc...) 3. Rider relations (brothers, friends, rivals, ...) This in my opinion would make every career feel more dynamic and you'd have to think a bit more on your signing strategy.
Make hills and so on harder for the pure sprinters. Compared to real life cycling the groups that sit in the finals of the stage are just way to big compared to irl.
#1 More realistic startlist - the best riders tend to race the WT races that fit them every single year. Don't think Vingegaard and Pogacar battling it at the Tour of Romandie is realistic. #2 Make it availible so you can ride any race in pro cyclist when you are on the WT. For example if you are riding for Quickstep you can't race the italian 1.pro autumn classic. #3 In pro cyclist make it like in career mode where you can see everybodys stats.
Agree with #1 id also say to make that a lil more fair all around, a greater punishment to surpassing a certain amount of race days. Otherwise you could just run through a whole bunch of races with your top riders when others aren't there
And btw i don't mean Soudal- Quickstep for number 2. But if you u are at Groupama, EF, Decathlon, IPT, UnoX, Visma and more (for the 1.pro italy autumn classic). And i just feel like thats so shitty made, why not just have the opportunity to chose the races you want to race when you are on the WT
I think the sprint in a whole needs a total revival. I get it in real life u cant always ride the sprint you want but in PCM you can have the best sprinter in the world but u get blocked 7/10 times while the AI can sprint every time. I thought of a sprint stage in 2 parts. The first # kilometres and the second around 15-20 km from the finish. Flat stat needs to be very important in this fase and like you said dead riders cant block the upcomming trains. Also I hope they can introduce a 'sprintline' that u cant leave, but that only within 3km
Establish a fixed team focus over 5 years, for example, to build the team into a Grand Tour team or northern classic team etc. An attribute for gravel races an insight into the planning of the teams in the pro cyclist mode from which you get offers and possibly a kind of say for one or two riders
The main thing for me is Evolution of nations needs to go up and down, theres no regression to nations even if they arent actually doing anything. I feel as you get higher there needs to be a hidden lock point that if a nation doesnt hit then they lose popularity. Secondly sponsorship needs relooking at. I feel its very skewed right now.
For me number 1 is definitely Pro/Rel like Kim suggests. Other than that I think the way I would revamp sprinting is add a lead out button. Hitting the sprint button with your last lead out rider is often too fast and drains the red bar of your sprinter prematurely but 99 speed from the lead out man is too slow. A button that causes the lead out to match their speed (assuming their attributes mean they can reach this speed) to the rider behind. They should ride as fast as they can so the red bar of the rider behind only drains slowly. This feels more realistic and balanced.
I think its time to introduce watts to the game. Not as a rider-stat for now, but as a race-metric like HR. I dont necessarily think that you should be able to controle those two metrics in the race, but maybe you could set a maximum-watt/hr that the rider should stay benieth in a given effort. A bit like the princip behind the 'stay in position' - function.
All flags, or at least having flags as individual files. They're currently loaded from a single assets (along with other graphics), so many nations (for example, Nicaragua) have the Albanian flag assigned to them I'd like to see either all flags from UCI recognized nations, or flags as their own files so they can be added in as custom assets
Would love to see those 10 Points from your Video added. I myself would love to say no to handling a national team, and have the ability to apply for one I want. Have a revamp of the facilities. Like stated earlier. And one thing that I really think is disappointing, all the races late in the year don't mean a thing, perhaps push back the sponsor signing/evaluation a month or two.
Resigning revamp is my request, Its just to easy to cheese the game being able to sign your top choices without the computer having a chance to bid vs you. This has to be fixed in some way
There needs to be a way to stop/slow down rider skill bloat. Let nations lose as well as gain popularity/training ratings might be an option, although it takes years for that to filter through.
From your list: 1) "Peel-off" button you suggested. Kinda flabbergasted that its not in the game yet. 2) More flashed out equipment system. Right now i`m not rly sure its even do anything. You feel no "progress" from it, and "research" barely matters. Personal: 3) Fitness peak system revamp/rebalance. In real life fitness peak = you are in the best form of your life and could perform anything for a long time. In this game - you have 38% fatigue and will probably die next day. 4) Scheduling for fitness peaks+target objectives is atrocious. You are manager of the team, you have a staff of trainers. If your staff cant properly prepare your rider, so he could be in fitness peak of the FIRST day of objective race, not 2 weeks after it, they will should be fired. And some from pro cyclist mode that nobody cares about: 5) Bring back "attack" button and "gel" (which should matter more) for teammates 6) Bring back target objective and fitness bonuses to your rider. Imagine you are playing chess. But to increase difficulty your pawns can only move 1 square, and you dont have bishops. Sure game became harder, but is it proper chess anymore. 7) Bring in leveling system from TDF game (it needs some balancing on the edges too). Leveling and not reaching potential is not fun. Inability to make your own Pogi is not fun either.

this would be great.
ah, and maybe the same for national teams participating in the World Cup

the possibility of recruiting 16-17 year old runners for the youth team, so they would finally make sense.
The evolution of training notification is huge. Im constantly checking if my riders have evolved and usually they havent.
Being able to decline managing a national team.

The equipment thing feels pointless

The points system for dossiers makes no sense and its very artificial.
A faster decline of rider stats once they hit 31.

Late Bloomers and more media for me- the way it is on FM with tweets and stuff
