I'm sitting here like "what's up with the dragon fruit in the background"... LOL. That's sharpener is cool. Haven't seen that one before. Need to get one for my car.
That little work sharp tool is cheap too! Thanks for watching
The scratches on the blade would bug me personally.. I like the scales though.
Thanks for the video brother
Thanks for watching, one way or another it's going to get scratched up anyway
Love the idea! Great video, do more!
Thanks, why not customize your stuff! Sometimes it goes good, sometimes not so good, but at least have fun doing it!
I'm just hear to gather the tears of all the people who are crying because you made your knife look used- as it should, and as it is. Haha
Let me get you another bucket!
That knife needs the Yojimbo Blade to be perfect!
Does it?
I came straight to the comments . . . . :)
That was the place to be when the video first dropped!
Ok hear me out.....do this to a Benchmade, because I guarantee their tears will be evem saltier than the Spyderco fanboys. 😂
Well to bad I don't have any Benchmade, but if someone wants to send me a claymore or bugout I'll "ruin" it too!😂
Rat-rot knife 😁 you just need to do it more and finde your look👍
Rat-rod style for knives! I love that idea!
@@DannyRiskit Yes, it could be cool. Practice makes perfect 👍
I replaced my Shaman stock scales with AWT aluminum ones. I actually prefer the stock scales feel, but I like the weight savings of the AWT scales and its a little slimmer in the pocket.
Sweet! I thought about getting some aluminum or some carbon fiber but really I do like the feel of micarta better. Thanks for watching!
that is pretty slick
Thanks!
Makes me sad! This knife is perfect as is…
It is an amazing knife from the factory, but if it was perfect then why is there be an aftermarket of parts for it?
I mean, wouldn't personally take sandpaper to blade, but you do you, boo boo.
I believe the foofy term for the look you went for is "distressed" , but I kinda got a kick out of some commenters getting distressed about it hahaha
I do, however, believe in modding the hell out of things. Like my dumbass opinion matters lol
Personally, I don't really like my shaman and rarely grab it as a carry. Of my Spidercos it'll be my Para3(not modded yet), or Smock(after market clip, bearings and wood scales I made for it).
Interesting project and I'm assuming, if nothing else, you gained some knowledge and experience for your next one.
This sandpaper was too fine to do anything major to it anyway, which bummed me out. "Distressed" is a good term too, someone mentioned "rat-mod" which I kinda dig. I'll probably do something crazy to some other knife some other time, but what or when is TBD. I did learn some things. Thanks for watching!
@@DannyRiskit rat-mod is an interesting term. I like it. Always had a thing for rat-rods. Hadn't really considered a simular esthetic for [some] other things.
Def an interesting idea.
✌🏽🤘🏼
nah!
yah!
This is NOT something i would ever recommend or congratulate someone for doing. IMO that knife is ruined, but as you said, you bought it and are free to ruin at your leisure.
What ruins a knife?
If this knife is ruined it is a- because it doesn't work anymore or b- because it isn't pretty anymore.
Is that why you buy knives? To be pretty?
The edge is undamaged, the heat treat is unchanged, it still opens and closes as it should; so to say the knife ruined is a bit of a misnomer. Now if you said I ruined the looks of it, or it's ugly now, well then ok.
@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors I have no issue with a well used knife. This guy didn’t even use it to wear it, he just destroyed to make it look like he works hard. Get outta here guy. I just unsubbed from you. You need to spend less time arguing on the internet with like everybody guy. Every time I see you post it’s in a new internet war. Grow up
@adhdhobbyguy6063 wait, but you said it is "RUINED"-
Being that you didn't directly answer my question but instead explained how hurt your feelings are it would appear that we have our answer indirectly.
👏🏻
Actually I do work hard(ish) and my other shaman has some very nice natural usage wear to it. I can't wait to see how this blends in with that going forward.
