BALETE DRIVE | Street Walk | Quezon City | Walking Tour Philippines

Walk with me along Balete Drive, a two-lane street and main thoroughfare of New Manila, Quezon City, Philippines. The road is a major route for jeepneys and taxis, serving the New Manila area and connecting Eulogio Rodriguez Sr. Avenue and Nicanor Domingo Street.
There are several Spanish houses in the area, including the famous 200-year-old "Centennial House", which supports the claim that Balete Drive has been in use since the late Spanish era towards the end of the 19th century.
The street is lined with old, gnarled balete trees, which are a type of fig tree known for their distinctive aerial roots and often associated with supernatural beliefs in Filipino folklore.
Numerous urban legends and ghost stories are associated with Balete Drive since the 1950s. One of the most well-known legends revolves around a white lady, a ghostly female figure often seen at night along the road, particularly near the balete trees. People have reported experiencing paranormal phenomena, such as apparitions, strange sounds, and eerie encounters, while driving or walking along this road. But according to local rumors, the legend of Balete Drive was "fabricated by a reporter in 1953 in order to come up with an interesting story".

Noong 80's/90's hindi pa matataas ang mga pader jan kaya nakikita mula sa labas ang mga lumang bahay.
Ngeun sa dami ng magnanakaw ng antique ay nkakatakot na naka-expose ang mga lumang bahay😂
