@Leah VanZandt-Ruth the one above all is stan Lee and jack kirby. I like to think about the one above all as a way that stan Lee and jack kirby brought these characters life. not even thanos or the living tribunal has the power over the one above all. those two men created something that is memorable and amazing. it's a shame that they both passed away because they could have laid down the foundation of how marvel stories work. because right now the entire publication of marvel is a mess. time travel is broken and characters don't stay dead and power creep is a broken contradiction that needs to be addressed. the only way that this could have been addressed is if the one above all steps in and sets the rules for the marvel universe.
The one above all story outlined in brief was just amazing, and deeply touching. What a beautiful treatise to the eternal questions and feelings of us all.
He's the creator "Jack Kirby and/or Stan Lee". That's what makes marvel so beautiful. That TOAA is the creation and are the imagination of you the reader to base your own interpretation of this alt universe juxtaposition with our reality. Of course like any universe, It must have order, which the living tribunal is delegated with. Wow
I really enjoy it in stories when these incomprehensible gods just interact with regular people like the One Above All did. They don't act like a God or ask for anything to happen. They simply just... Talk
HollowGaming If you read the story, TOAA gave Mephisto a stink eye that forcibly voided his contract with Peter Parker. But alas, it was too late that time.
Yeah, but it's kind of a terrifying thought, knowing that there's something out there that's that powerful, that omnipresent and just the mystery of it and all that stuff. Not only that, but it'd just make you feel so entirely insignificant, like a microbe underneath some vast, unknowable being's microscope.
I would walk out the theater and never watch another marvel movie period because after that it's obvious nothing that epic will ever come close to it again. Gameover.
Stan Lee's final cameo, whether it be on Stan Lee's terms or after he passes away and they CGI him, will reveal him to be The One Above All. All his previous cameos were simply him walking amongst the mortals and worlds he has created. This reveal as The One Above All with also tie in the MCU with pre-MCU films, with pre-MCU films being different universes in the multiverse. Could do this by having previous Marvel actors such as Tobey Maguire, James Franco, Wesley Snipes, Ron Perlman, Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans' Johnny Storm, Ryan Reynolds, etc., as paintings in his multiversal office, or as additional cameo appearances with Stan Lee, like eating dinner outside the multiverse or something. Like a post-credits scene. I think that'd be the perfect, and only way to introduce The One Above All to film, as well as the perfect tribute to Stan Lee. Him amongst his creations. In the film multiverse, it'd be Stan Lee of course because he's the one who has been present throughout all these Marvel films through the decades, and even if he somewhat stole the thunder from Kirby, it is what's fitting for what we've got established. Stan Lee, as The One Above All, could reference Kirby of course as a twin creator that the films didn't see for whatever reason, just so he can share in the legacy as well, as he deserves.
It was actually pretty interesting, I didn't realize that in the Marvel Comics universe that there was a god similar but slightly different then what we perceive as God . I thought I was a very cool explanation , thank you very much for elaborating . I love all these Marvel explained videos
when i saw THE ONE ABOVE ALL talk to Peter on the comic, it reminded me of the time when Stan Lee talked to peter on spider-man 3. "I guess one person can make a difference, nuff said". so maybe Stan Lee is THE ONE ABOVE ALL on the MCU.
maybe the one above all just takes the form of stan lee in the mcu in the lego games he has the powers of lots of heroes so maybe its just the form he chose to go into the mcu
Interesting. I interpret his conversation with TOAA as merely an internal conversation with his own consciousness...weighing the value of what he has done and become with where he ends up in life...and in the end...he has to have faith in the decisions and path that he has walked to this point. He did the best he could at any given point and that may or may not have hurt and helped people he loved...but in the end, all he could do is have faith in doing the right thing as he saw it and hoping it turned out right.
The One can literally do anything you can and can’t imagine. He created everything but can also delete it all instantly. He is everywhere at all times past present and future, infinitely. He controls all forces, time and space. He sees and remembers everything that has ever happened, is happening, or will happen. He knows everything, and also created everything you can possibly know. He even created nothingness from nothing so he could create something (if that makes sense). But how was he formed? And where did he come from/who created him. I’ve known about this character for a while now and for some reason I can’t stop thinking about the bigger picture since it is from real humans imagination in the form of comic books and you can tell it is directly related to god. All people ask themselves so many deep questions that can’t be explained including me and I see why there are a lot of people that don’t believe in a god at all or do believe but hate god. It is all so interesting to me. But however we got here and however or whoever created us is incredible and I think if we knew those questions and other questions our brains would not be capable of understanding anyways. Almost literally blowing my mind. Ah I love imagination.
no hes not learning. hes speaking riddles. it just goes to show that he doesnt want to interfere in roles. hes basically saying that he does not care about other peoples emotions as emotion might be a useless thing in some cases idk. he isnt learning. he knows everything. who cares if he says he doesnt. u do realize he can play with peoples minds and confuse them. but in this issue he didnt exactly say he doesnt know what going on. he just is trying to basically say the mystery is to spiderman not to him. and even if the mystery was to him which is impossible because he knows everything and that would only imply even he isnt the greatest. but he is the greatest so lets not go there. 1 he might be persuading spiderman that is just a mystery to spider and himself (when its not a mystery to him; more or less he just doesnt give a fuck about it that thing that happens). it does say he may of chose to detach himself from the feelings of others in the way of helping them all the time. nobody can tell him what to do. if he wants to do it, he will do it whenever he wants to. it would be boring if he always saved people whenever people prayed to him or told him to do it. right? its a mystery that people wish that people be saved when people dont really die. they just go somewhere else. right? and maybe they dont? so? life is just a game. its just a role that everybody plays out. u dont have to tweak it. just go with it. and god doesnt have to change the outcomes either. so god knows everything he just speaking in riddles.
Vincent Jack yet he doesnt understand the suffering of people. yet he asks peter parker about certain things., etc. etc. if he is really as what people says him to be. he shouldnt be doing those things because he already knows the answer.
first off he went to parker probably knowing all the answer but did it anyway because maybe he sensed that parker needed someone really badly at that time to save himself? he may of went corrupt or suicidal or something. the point is spiderman needed god or something bad would of happened. you do realize that stan lee made spiderman. you would think that spiderman shouldnt deserve a sighting from THE ONE ABOVE ALL just because of how insignificant he kind of is to the large picture of the universe. he lacks power and is no where equal to the power of entities in space. but seeing how this sighting happened, that only means that stan lee represents TOAA. that is why he chose to benefit his spiderman character as well. stan lee did state that spiderman is one of his favorite characters which makes sense for this event happening. now i understand that there is some errors in his comments but its no where to the extent of the errors that The Presence had. so if you want to get into a which errors were more significant in scale than it hands down The Presence. he has so much failure that its not even funny. lastly hes dead. Anna Belic has the power. or something like that. i forgot who TP gave his powers to before killing himself. which makes him not omnipotent in my book. but if there is a word higher than omnipotent and fine he can be omnipotent but then hes not High-omnipotent. u get the point. either way TOAA can beat TP. TOAA's fanbase is larger and stan lee represents him. TP stands no chance and he would some how lose during the fight. because stan lee would write the story of TP committing suicide or not wanting to be omnipotent anymore during the fight and then TOAA will just absorb TP or something.
Sort of like George Burns in the "Oh, God" movies, which like Jack Kirby in the comics makes perfect sense and gives us a fairly accurate analogy to God in our own universe. God is all loving but doesn't feel that's inherently in conflict with sometimes ignoring what we want and making our lives miserable now and then which is how pretty much all of us treat those we love. isn't it? Being created in the image of God humanity is essentially God's reflection in a lot of different fun house mirrors some of which God likes more than others. Stan and Jack are probably less distorted reflections of God than most of us because they share his love of creating universes and talking with fans now and then, but pretty much staying out of the spotlight beyond an occasional brief cameo usually anonymously.
Wow, looking back at this video and seeing how much he Rob has changed. I started to watch him a few years ago and he has gotten so much better since, so much more free-flowing and confident
So, I have been in the comment section for a little bit and here is what I found. 15% normal comments 25% Stan Lee is toaa 50% people saying religion is wrong 10% religious
Comic Sams People that say religion is wrong have the same mentality as a racist. Whaaat?? I'll explain: Racist bunch up a few bad with the masses. A few bad black people. Oh they must be bad!! No I haven't experienced and got to know every black person but I did see a few and that means they must all be bad! Same with religion. Oh all these nutty religious loonies! Religion made them crazy! I haven't experienced every religion and every religious person but I don't have too because the ones I have experienced are bad and crazy so they must all be!! They have the mindset of a racist. They're ignorant.
Alex Xavier lol no. Racism is based on hating real people, religion is just a fantasy. You are basically saying hating on Lord of the Rings is equal to burning black people.
TOAA first appeared as Jack Kirby (writer/author) which says that he is the avatar of the author/writer of the Marvel Universe. which says that TOAA is the reason how everything started and he is the one writing their stories
My favorite video by Comics Explained as it was my first introduction to "One Above All" back in 2016 and remember thinking how cool it was that they had a God with a capital G in the MCU that wasn't just like the Gods of Asgard and how rad it was that the "One Above All" was the personification of the writers there like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Thank you Rob for introducing me to this character.
How do you find this channel and then watch a video and then not like it? Its like driving to the fair and then getting got of your car just to say you do not like the fair.
I've been away from comics for over ten years, but every once in a while I like 'coming back' to videos like these to catch a glimpse of how the Marvel Universe keeps turning. I like your take on the whole TOAA/Jack Kirby thing: "I doubt that Mark Waid intended for us to actually believe that TOAA is Jack Kirby. But this is also interesting at the same time because -- for the most part -- there's really no reason to say that it's not."
One theory that I personally like is that maybe all the Stan Lee moments in the movies are actually The One Above All going and starting specific events that ultimately lead to part 2 of the infinity war where maybe someone would threaten reality with the gauntlet and then Stan Lee comes in and goes like: Nope.
I would love to see that happen. Not particularly with the "nope" part since the one above all doesn't really interfere with the events that happen(that's the living tribunal's job). But I'd love to see him actually show that he is the one above all because there is clearly a need for his sightings and if it's not in the comics, it can also just happen in the movies
Ryuken Yama Stan Lee has always played neutral, non-significant characters. If that is any true indication of The One Above All's nature it's that he is the supreme architect that constructs, but is otherwise uninvolved. A spectator. A true neutral.
Stan Lee cannot be The One Above All, because TOAA is just a name Marvel authors use to refer to THE supreme being, the real life one that is above us all and in charge of our universe and all existence. As far as anyone knows, Stan Lee is a mortal human man and thus is not the supreme god of all creation.
I love your videos and found your channel about 2 years ago and just found this little gem. I love your current intro and how much personality in your current videos. HOWEVER, THIS INTRO IS FFFFFFFFIIIIIIIRRRRRRREEEEEEEE🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I keep coming back to this video every so many months. There is something I find very significant and cool in Spiderman being the one that gets to meet The One Above All in person, just so neat.
I am kinda worried that with Marvel becoming ever more mainstream, concepts like the One Above All may never be referenced again, at least not to the extent that stuff like Ben Grimm visiting Jack Kirby are a truly mind-blowing, moving experience. I do, however, recognize that the One is, by his (Her? It's?) very nature, a concept only readily acceptable to a certain limited sector of Marvel's reader base, and sort of excludes a wide swath of characters from ever interacting with him or even spitting in his direction. I don't want to sound harsh or cruel here, but I have a hunch someone like Kamala Khan has a 1-in-a-billion chance of being involved with a storyline alongside the One Above All. A character like him doesn't really have much reality in Kamala's particular worldview, and even if he does, I doubt he'll ever be directly referenced in "Ms. Marvel" or "Champions." I do subscribe to the idea that the Marvel universe has an intelligent designer at its helm, but I know the rest of the world likely doesn't. Sad, but necessary in a way.
I doubt that they’d leave such an important character out of the MCU. They’ve already introduced the living tribunal and the celestials so they are definitely going to introduce him too. Also Adam warlock
Can't really blame them that much, a story with an omnipotent being who stands by and does nothing and a faustian bargain with a demonic being gushes religious themes. This is also One More Day, I'm not sure many would call this narrative wonderful.
Deadmau5_fanatic117 There is lack of philosophy and depth in The One Above All's character. He's rather boring and it really goes against our understanding of philosophy if there were a God. To put it simply, it's illogical and unreasonable to believe that if there was a God that he would fit such a persona given the fact that God created the universe for a reason with a cosmic plan. Since God is the creator of everything he also embodies everything that is in his creation, including moral values. The One Above All is the type of being someone would dream up to simply feel free from any moral obligations.
ComicsExplained, your videos are so well produced, with perfect audio, great editing, and a great explanation. Thank you so much for your videos and your hard work behind them. I see you are up to 883k subscribers, and I hope your success continues and you are rewarded for such excellent work!
There needs to be new term for such type of beings with that much power level. Pretty much most Gods in comics are simply supernatural beings considered Gods.
I love this! so much work put in. I did spot some strong ties to the judeo-christian god in the things that the one above all says in that spidey comic. "Hard to explain to someone who wasn't there when the foundation of the earth was laid" is a reference to what God says to Job in the book of Job. And that last part about asking more of those close to him...mostly likely a reference to Jesus. the spiderman author seems to be hinting that they are one and the same. thanks for the video, I'm glad there's someone doing such in depth analysis of comics.
+Jonathan Zungre Wow I didn't figure that similarity out! Coming from Judeo-Christian faith I could see the other obvious parallels. Jesus after his resurrection coming to Peter and asking for fish (food). The concept of God coming as a simple human being, unassuming of power (and even looks), and able to dwell in our everyday lives- it came from the Judeo-Chrisitan faith only.
No it most definitely DID not come from the Judeo-Christian faith only, I can name countless mythologies and religions where that happens to some degree.
There might be mythologies were "gods" have come down as human beings. But none to my knowledge where the God of all there is, ie the highest Power in the universe, coming down as a man, that too without showing off their power or wisdom in front of others.
I love your videos. Thanks so much dude. You literally got me back into comics, I hadn't touched them since I was a kid. Thanks for re-lighting that spark :D
Im a BIG FAN OF YOUR VIDEOS can you do a top 10 strongest marvel characters ? PLEASE !!! here is mine 1 - One Above All 2 - Fulcrum 3 - Tiamut, The Dreaming Celestial 4 - The Beyonder 5 - The Molecule Man 6 - Scathan, The Approver 7 - Protégé 8 - Living Tribunal 9 - The Infinites 10 - Nemesis
This is so interesting considering that the Christian God does exist in the Marvel Verse since it was revealed that Ghost Riders powers originally come from him but were corrupted by a demon. Maybe God and the one above all are the same? I feel like there's a connection between the two that hasn't been explored
I have never seen a single mention of the judeochristian god in the MU, not even in the Ghost Rider comics. And TOAA is not definitely him. Why an omnipotent being like the described one in the Bible would want or need to create several inferior entities in order to control different aspects of the reality in their own way? Btw, Eternity and Infinity are more reminiscent of the concept of pantheism.
Reymart Dinglasa but the term god is arbitrary. Which god? Seems you're referring to the Christian one in particular. And isn't that a bit biased? We could say Odin or any non earth born deity is TOAA.
Not gonna lie, when i first read that story-line, i thought that Peter was talking to the Beyonder. Then again i didn't even know that The One Above All was even a thing, so...
Was your intro really 37 seconds long? I feel like I did, in fact, experience a 37 second intro, but that can't be possible. There's no being that exists in this universe that would ever think a 37 second intro is a good idea, or even an idea in general.
As I presented in the "The Source" of DC video. You're assetment of Jack kirby being the GOD of the Fantastic Four is correct. He conceived these characters alongside Stan Lee, who could be considered the "Living Tribunal" due to his stylistic approach to comic writing. Kirby molded them into form, but instead of clay he used graphite, and ink on paper. The HAND of God within the comic Universes, are the creators who who manifested their emergence into existence, grow to become larger than life, shared by all and then the collective audience decides who remains or in what form they take.
If like Avengers 4-5 gets to a point where they meet The One Above All or they animate The Living Tribunal(they can do it and most likely will be another Fast n Furious bcuz their movies are so successful every time they come out), that would be epic.
Stan Lee is man above all obviously. he appears in every major event in the universe always watching and observing these very powerful people. Stan Lee=God
ImmaSquidlng There is lack of philosophy and depth in The One Above All's character. He's rather boring and it really goes against our understanding of philosophy if there were a God. it's amazing the difference between how you do this vid compared to your newer ones. I'm soo happy you have gotten more into your work. You sound so monotone in this one. With your deep voice its so soothing its making me sleepy. I like excited you better. CHARACTER DEVELOUPMENT?!?! lol. I have so many vids to catch up on. such a hard worker you are.
Proposal: to compare the Ea universe's Eru Illuvatar with the Marvel Multiverse's One-Above-All!! I've compared Gandalf to Magneto in these pages, and with some success in entertainment. Now I am going to try comparing the Creator-deities of these two universes: JRR Tolkien's Eru Illuvatar with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's One-Above-All. I am assuming that you don't need a review of the characteristics of the Tolkien universe god Eru. I am not so much expert on the realms of One-Above-All, having only picked up on the Marvel Multiverse with the advent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Obviously, though since the Marvel Multiverse is the product of a number of authors, notably Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, there would likely be many more powers attributed to One-Above-All. I did find this description of Him being of the people called the Celestials in Wikipedia: "The One Above All is a Celestial in the Marvel Universe. The character, created by Jack Kirby, first appeared in The Eternals #7 (January 1977). Within the context of the stories, the One Above All is the leader of the Celestials and is present during the Fourth Host to visit Earth. The One Above All is the most powerful character In the entire Marvel Universe. He is responsible for the existence of all life in the Marvel universe and possibly beyond. The One-Above-All is the master and sole superior of the cosmic overseer and arbitrator known as The Living Tribunal." (For you film buffs, by the way, the Celestials were seen in Guardians of the Galaxy in a projected picture of giants on a wall, and the Collector's asteroid offices were in a severed Celestial's head.) Point I) physical extent- One-Above-All is obviously (but maybe only obviously) far vaster in straight physical extent. Eru has timeless halls and the universe ("existance") of Ea which is said to be a complete universe of stars and galaxies. Tolkien didn't see the proposal of inflationary universes of many variants on physical rules and space so vast that there are other copies of us among the googleplex other planets. So since Eru's universe's canon is limited to JRR's intentions expressed in his personal writings, we'll say Ea is limited to the 13 3/4 billion light-year radius Hubble Volume, times a reasonable figure for good measure. If Eru built or presided over much beyond the "Little Kingdom" we are left intentionally befreit of knowledge about that. The One-Above-All has suzireignity over the many-dimensional Multiverse in which Ea corresponds only to the universe called "Earth 616", not to mention over many entities who are deities in their own right, like those called together for the "Infinity War"-Eternity, Order and Chaos, Cronus, Eros (and his brother Thanos, chief bad guy to the whole Cinematic Universe thing), etc. For land control, One-Above-All is king. Point II) Intellectual prowess Advance planning is evident in both supreme deities, but Tolkien's monotheistic role model tends to give the vote to Iluvatar. There simply isn't anything Iluvatar doesn't know, and fate can only be whatever penchant he has had. The One-Above-All's Multiverse on the other hand is seemingly more chaotic, and justice has to be meted out by calling in One-Above-All's second-in-command, The Living Tribunal. Point III) Absoluteness Absolute power is absolute to both Eru Iluvatar and One-Above-All, but Eru's absolute power is absoluter. Why, you may ask, do I claim that this is so easy to decide? Well, Tolkien was a creator with a distinct idea of monotheistic power, whereas the Marvel Multiverse was meant to be taken with less seriousness, not examining the question of power in the fashion of JRR Tolkien's works. We give the superiority vote up, therefore to Eru Illuvatar, since he takes 2 out of 3 categories. What say you?
the comment section is full of the bashing class atheists xD let people believe what they want even if u don't agree with there beliefs, like don't argue with these "religitards" as you call em because that makes you no better than what you think you are to them
lowercase21 im not sure if your trying to insult me, but if you are, thing is idec, i just want sincere interesting comments not "GODS REAL" or "FUCK THE BEARDED MAN!"
Stan Lee could play the role of "The One Above All" Since he apears everywhere. At any time and any place.
DanG Gaming In the movies he is the one above all.
***** That is not confirmed.
Does it have to be ?
***** Have to be what? Confirmed? Yes if that's the case.
I mean, his role in the movies is usualy silly short and with a strange personality. Just like the way he acted in that spiderman comic long time ago. But in the end this is just moah opinion
I'm glad Tommy Wisseau was there for Peter.
Peter you always play psychologist with us!
I did not hit aunt may
Tisamon I did not kill her, I did not.
oh hi mark
You are taring me APART, Peter!
If the One Above All ever makes an appearance in the MCU he better be portrayed by Stan Lee or Morgan Freeman. I expect nothing else!
Gold-King Valmy I think Stan Lee is either toaa, or the watcher
Stan Lee would be an amazing choice since he already appeared in all marvel movies.
I am 100% certain, it will be Chuck Norris.
Jesus already appeared in the 70's Ghost Rider series, true story
morgan freeman😂😂😂👌
You can tell he loves Peter for all of his hard work even though he has been suffering
Yeah
lends to the sentiment that he should have been played by stan lee.. spidey was always his favorite character
Maybe the One Above All was trying to stop One More Day from happening.
Even God hates that story.
Made my Day
Ma niggah :)
stellvia hoenheim One of the WORST, poorly-written stories ever.
Juuzou Suzuya are you black?
Trying? TOAA can just wipe one more day out of existence with a flick of his finger. Bruh
Before Stan lee goes away, we need him to show up in a marvel movie as one above all
So many people already said they wanna see that why you acting like you just thought of this original idea
Taaha Siddiqui he didn’t he said we all which is true
Stan Lee said himself that one above all is his friend Kirby
Vladimir Bogdanovic well he was PORTRAYED he can take on any form
Boy that's awkward
Marvel really loves the word "infinity" don't they?
There are levels of infinity energy, depending what the entity is ranked as. Nigh-omnipotent, ultipotent, or omnipotent. static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/12/125547/3224282-ffann026_56.jpg
James McTrollington Tooooooo Infinity Wars AND BEYOND!!
Disney's Marvel's Avengers: Infinity Wars: Part I & II in theatres 2017 & 2018
James McTrollington I believe it was stated in the official canon, that if Spiderman were ever to get his hands on the Infinity Gauntlet, he would give Wolverine the biggest nuggie ever.
James McTrollington The words "Infinity" and "Secret" are to Marvel what the word "Crisis" is to DC.
DancingPotatoe16 bruh
I've never read a comic book. But things like this amazes me, its so fucking cool.
Never read a comic book??? Man you are missing out.
Yeah i know, but aren't like the first marvel comics really rare and expensive?
Zhivagoo Anon yea usually i find volumes or find a storyline all wrapped in one big book. you might find some online.
Do you guys know the first ever marvel cartoon? like the ones they showed on a kids channel, really intrested in watching through all of them
Start by watch The Amazing Spider-Man Cartoon it's amazing
It's definitely an interesting take on things philosophically.
Robert M. Dunn
Explain why it isn't if you're so smart?
@Leah VanZandt-Ruth the one above all is stan Lee and jack kirby. I like to think about the one above all as a way that stan Lee and jack kirby brought these characters life. not even thanos or the living tribunal has the power over the one above all. those two men created something that is memorable and amazing. it's a shame that they both passed away because they could have laid down the foundation of how marvel stories work. because right now the entire publication of marvel is a mess. time travel is broken and characters don't stay dead and power creep is a broken contradiction that needs to be addressed. the only way that this could have been addressed is if the one above all steps in and sets the rules for the marvel universe.
in comics hes kirby, but in the MCU i believe he is stan lee.
it would make perfect sense how he can be everywhere.
lady nightshade i like your theory best comment on this whole page
stfu goku, lest I call superman.
no surprise.
Dr. nightshade stan lee could be the watcher
Kevin Feige is the One Above all movie producers
The one above all story outlined in brief was just amazing, and deeply touching. What a beautiful treatise to the eternal questions and feelings of us all.
Damn Peter should be honered to be talking to the One Above All
Zeno-sama is the one above all above even you?
Derek Hogan Yeah he is
Zeno-Sama Nah Toaa doesn't care. He isn't the type of god who'd make you bowel to him.
Zeno-Sama Nah Toaa doesn't care. He isn't the type of god who'd make you bowel to him.
Cake# *bow*
He's the creator "Jack Kirby and/or Stan Lee". That's what makes marvel so beautiful. That TOAA is the creation and are the imagination of you the reader to base your own interpretation of this alt universe juxtaposition with our reality. Of course like any universe, It must have order, which the living tribunal is delegated with. Wow
Inhedonia Hrtz lol yup
Not order, but balance. There are two separate cosmic entities "Chaos & Order" in the Marvel Universe. Then there is the "Living Tribunal"
The one above all in the Spiderman story reminds me of the SIMS. You may create the scenario and the people, but their actions are misunderstood
The Peter Parker and One Above All thing is just beautiful.
I really enjoy it in stories when these incomprehensible gods just interact with regular people like the One Above All did. They don't act like a God or ask for anything to happen. They simply just... Talk
"Peter parker growing old with Aunt M- I mean...Mary Jane"
Freudian slip there, hm?
Dylan Lasseigne penis envy
The new aunt may Marisa Tomey that is something possible.
Dylan Lasseigne Freud was a fraud
The fact that i read this comment RIGHT AS he said it.......makes me scared
Dylan Lasseigne Free speech was a mistake, so sayeth the Lord.
It's 2020, came back just to look at the old school intro and the vibes that early Rob had. Still good content.
back here in 2021, any chance you know the song in intro?
@@mtripleup you might have to ask Rob or check and see if it was in the description
Man. I love this old intro. I just came back to an old video so that I can hear it one more time.
Man. Peter with the One Above All brings me to tears everytime.
doraff02 time in the video?
Maybe the One Above All was just smoking in a dark alley way and he accidentally started a fire, starting a Big Bang
Dat Boi lol
bruh, how would an alley way exist in a universe that wasnt created? but pretty funny though
Davie Meister an alley way of his own ark dimension perhaps
big boi yeah, but he was smoking crack
He farted
I like the fact that he appeared before Peter Parker. makes him special :P
HollowGaming If you read the story, TOAA gave Mephisto a stink eye that forcibly voided his contract with Peter Parker. But alas, it was too late that time.
HollowGaming what
Well, Peter/Spider-Man is essentially the main face of Marvel Comics.
Not Actually A Black Guy
Debatable, but I'm not gonna say anything cause I don't read many comica
I love that GOD appearing before a human makes GOD special...
It would be dumb if Thanos tried to attack Toaa with the Infinity Gauntlet, he'd just take it away and be like "You don't get this power anymore."
You know, the concept of a being like TOAA is actually pretty terrifying. Just think about it for a second.
Haystack Bill The idea of an omnipotent being that always was, it seems to me that he's the most important thing in existence.
Haystack Bill To him that's what we are.
Exactly.
The spider man issue "one-above-all" is tommy wiseau :D
DalekKaan101 “Oh Hai Peter”
“How’s your sex life?”
Oh hi mark
Oh fuc
What a Story DalekKaan!
Imagine Avengers 3, Thanos kill them all in an epic fight and then comes stan lee and saves the day
Alejandro Barone That would be the first official appearance of TOAA in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lol. :D
I would walk out the theater and never watch another marvel movie period because after that it's obvious nothing that epic will ever come close to it again. Gameover.
Lol true true...
Nah but they gotta introduce Squirrel Girl to defeat TOAA
Blaze Espiritu JAJAJA what an epic fight
The one above all can do anything all most powerful character in the the Marvel multiverse he just wants life to be natural.
I don't think ones want to see a God who puts up paintings of Toby Maguire in his office.
Isn't Stan Lee the one above all in the moviesThat's why he cameos in every marvel movie no matter what studio?
Am stable lee ok am richer than you🤟🏻🖖😀💩🖖🍕👌💤
It was actually pretty interesting, I didn't realize that in the Marvel Comics universe that there was a god similar but slightly different then what we perceive as God . I thought I was a very cool explanation , thank you very much for elaborating . I love all these Marvel explained videos
Keanu Reeves looks like he could play the One-Above-All in the MCU if it ever comes down to it.
I hope Mr Keanu Reeves plays The One Above All in the movies.
Keanu Reeves should be in everything. Instead we get Chris Pratt
when i saw THE ONE ABOVE ALL talk to Peter on the comic, it reminded me of the time when
Stan Lee talked to peter on spider-man 3. "I guess one person can make a difference, nuff said".
so maybe Stan Lee is THE ONE ABOVE ALL on the MCU.
maybe the one above all just takes the form of stan lee in the mcu in the lego games he has the powers of lots of heroes so maybe its just the form he chose to go into the mcu
stellvia hoenheim God is the one above all.
stellvia hoenheim Jesus is Gods son.
stellvia hoenheim God is above Jesus but yes those 2 entities are both above all.
stellvia hoenheim why such hostility? You are definitely not a Christian man.
Seth Cranford then the ‘One above all’ in this fictional existence should know why death and bad things happen. If he’s God in this, he should know.
What about TOAA'S father? 🤣
Toaa's powers won't stand a chance against the BELT ABOVE ALL
...so, like Eternity said, God.
One above all is lord krishna
@@vishnusharman2029 thats the point❤️❤️❤️
it only proves that TOAA is also still learning and improving.
no hes not learning. hes speaking riddles. it just goes to show that he doesnt want to interfere in roles. hes basically saying that he does not care about other peoples emotions as emotion might be a useless thing in some cases idk. he isnt learning. he knows everything. who cares if he says he doesnt. u do realize he can play with peoples minds and confuse them. but in this issue he didnt exactly say he doesnt know what going on. he just is trying to basically say the mystery is to spiderman not to him. and even if the mystery was to him which is impossible because he knows everything and that would only imply even he isnt the greatest. but he is the greatest so lets not go there. 1 he might be persuading spiderman that is just a mystery to spider and himself (when its not a mystery to him; more or less he just doesnt give a fuck about it that thing that happens). it does say he may of chose to detach himself from the feelings of others in the way of helping them all the time. nobody can tell him what to do. if he wants to do it, he will do it whenever he wants to. it would be boring if he always saved people whenever people prayed to him or told him to do it. right? its a mystery that people wish that people be saved when people dont really die. they just go somewhere else. right? and maybe they dont? so? life is just a game. its just a role that everybody plays out. u dont have to tweak it. just go with it. and god doesnt have to change the outcomes either. so god knows everything he just speaking in riddles.
no, he is looking for a successor. TOAA has already reached the peak or pinnacle of perfection, nothing to improve.
Humans are just ants to them.
Vincent Jack
yet he doesnt understand the suffering of people. yet he asks peter parker about certain things., etc. etc. if he is really as what people says him to be. he shouldnt be doing those things because he already knows the answer.
first off he went to parker probably knowing all the answer but did it anyway because maybe he sensed that parker needed someone really badly at that time to save himself? he may of went corrupt or suicidal or something. the point is spiderman needed god or something bad would of happened. you do realize that stan lee made spiderman. you would think that spiderman shouldnt deserve a sighting from THE ONE ABOVE ALL just because of how insignificant he kind of is to the large picture of the universe. he lacks power and is no where equal to the power of entities in space. but seeing how this sighting happened, that only means that stan lee represents TOAA. that is why he chose to benefit his spiderman character as well. stan lee did state that spiderman is one of his favorite characters which makes sense for this event happening. now i understand that there is some errors in his comments but its no where to the extent of the errors that The Presence had. so if you want to get into a which errors were more significant in scale than it hands down The Presence. he has so much failure that its not even funny. lastly hes dead. TP stands no chance and he would some how lose during the fight. because stan lee would write the story of TP committing suicide or not wanting to be omnipotent anymore during the fight and then TOAA will just absorb TP or something.
green house it doesnt prove that at all. TOAA knows everything from the beginning to the end.
so is Stan Lee the one above all in the MCU
KRYMauL chill
I reckon so
James Field either him or Jack Kirby
Jamie Sample no he would be a watcher
I still think that Stan is the one above all, he appears in many movies.
***** the only thing I c is you talking to yourself..

Oh wait... I see what you did there!

Beta Ray Bill also encountered The One Above All after Astaroth's confrontation. Awesome video like always Rob
The spider-man and one above all part made me tear up… hits home
So, I have been in the comment section for a little bit and here is what I found.
15% normal comments
25% Stan Lee is toaa
50% people saying religion is wrong
10% religious
Comic Sams
People that say religion is wrong have the same mentality as a racist. Whaaat?? I'll explain:
Racist bunch up a few bad with the masses.
Comic Sams 1% of comments is people saying the percent of the comics.
Funny how simply conceiving of an abstract concept makes one religious.
So, all this time Iggy Pop was the The One Above All, huh?
+Jimmy David he was "the passenger" haha
😂😂😂omg
Jimmy David lol
Explains him not dying from drugs
My favorite video by Comics Explained as it was my first introduction to "One Above All" back in 2016 and remember thinking how cool it was that they had a God with a capital G in the MCU that wasn't just like the Gods of Asgard and how rad it was that the "One Above All" was the personification of the writers there like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Thank you Rob for introducing me to this character.

Hey I just got done reading the infinity gauntlet, and at the beginning it says death gave Thanos the gaunlet, how did she get it?
That would be amazing
Stan Lee cannot be The One Above All, because TOAA is just a name Marvel authors use to refer to THE supreme being, the real life one that is above us all and in charge of our universe and all existence. As far as anyone knows, Stan Lee is a mortal human man and thus is not the supreme god of all creation.
Big theory is that Stan lee is a watcher
Stan Lee is with the One Above All now.
I love your videos and found your channel about 2 years ago and just found this little gem. I love your current intro and how much personality in your current videos.

You’re killing it, as usual. Keep up the great work, man. You possess more Marvel knowledge and insight than anyone I’ve ever met.

Are we gonna ignore the fact that Peter/spiderman is so special that "God" visit him and cheer him up? While he was depressed 😶
Not really Peter Parker is basically the poster boy of marvel, he is without a doubt the most popular hero in marvel
Could everyone leave their religious jargon aside, and enjoy the wonderful narrative and information we are receiving?
Can't really blame them that much, a story with an omnipotent being who stands by and does nothing and a faustian bargain with a demonic being gushes religious themes. This is also One More Day, I'm not sure many would call this narrative wonderful.
Silver Fang I like this god. He essentially just watches
Silver Fang It's just that though. A story.
Squirrel Girl is love. Squirrel Girl is life! Squirrel Girl is The One Above All! Rejoice!

Peter should be proud that he met a literal more than a God
There needs to be new term for such type of beings with that much power level. Pretty much most Gods in comics are simply supernatural beings considered Gods.
I mean he's actually god not like a term I mean he's actually god
It's amazing to hear the change in your voice from here to the present. You have so much more joy and confidence in your tone.

This is so interesting considering that the Christian God does exist in the Marvel Verse since it was revealed that Ghost Riders powers originally come from him but were corrupted by a demon.
Maybe God and the one above all are the same? I feel like there's a connection between the two that hasn't been explored
+mewtwo34 good point
he's called The One Above All man. he's literally above all deities in the M.U.
The fact is, God is not earth born, "Jesus" was. So putting it as God is TOAA is possible in this. So I don't know really.
The One-Above-All was played by Harry dean Stanton in Avengers 1.... I'm the 1st person in the world to point that out... and I did it 8 years ago...
Was your intro really 37 seconds long? I feel like I did, in fact, experience a 37 second intro, but that can't be possible. There's no being that exists in this universe that would ever think a 37 second intro is a good idea, or even an idea in general.

One above all called his brother home goodbye and hello as always creator Stan Lee marvel will never be the same without you
As I presented in the "The Source" of DC video.
Man I miss this opening.
Who else is watching this after avengers infinity war?
This is my favorite TH-cam video. Perfection.
I believe god is exactly like the god in marvel. he set things in place and just let shit happen
I meant that he doesn't understand humans or their emotions and that he set the universe into motion with no real idea in how it would turn out.
You mean the Judeo-Christian God?
Which God are you referring to? I Can already tell it sounds Blasphemous.
Akbar Bagus well theyre all amake believe so you're argument is redundant

If like Avengers 4-5 gets to a point where they meet The One Above All or they animate The Living Tribunal(they can do it and most likely will be another Fast n Furious bcuz their movies are so successful every time they come out), that would be epic.
the budget you need for a avengers movie is not the same for a fast and furious movie xDDDD

I did find this description of Him being of the people called the Celestials in Wikipedia:
"The One Above All is a Celestial in the Marvel Universe.
The One-Above-All is the master and sole superior of the cosmic overseer and arbitrator known as The Living Tribunal."
(For you film buffs, by the way, the Celestials were seen in Guardians of the Galaxy in a projected picture of giants on a wall, and the Collector's asteroid offices were in a severed Celestial's head.)
Point I) physical extent-
One-Above-All is obviously (but maybe only obviously) far vaster in straight physical extent.
Point II) Intellectual prowess
Advance planning is evident in both supreme deities, but Tolkien's monotheistic role model tends to give the vote to Iluvatar.
Point III) Absoluteness
Absolute power is absolute to both Eru Iluvatar and One-Above-All, but Eru's absolute power is absoluter.
Ok you literally cannot kill the one above all. He is immortal, invincible, all powerful, can do literally anything.
Sheeesh....the intricate details you put in your explanation of this fiction
Can you talk about Dormammu please!
No the beyonder is NOT the one above all. The are multiple beyonders and they are all dead now
Mark Cage how about pre recton beyonder
Mark Cage what happened to them?
