    I followed your tips and how to in the video to fix my poolvergnuegen pool vacuum!! A pool guy takes care of my pool but has stopped coming due to the stay at home orders. The vacuum hasn't moved in about 10 days so I decided to check out the pump and troubleshoot after watching you video. Turns out that there was palm tree seed jamming up the turbine blades and some large leaves jamming up the suction. This video gave me the confidence to disassemble and perform some troubleshooting maintenance on the vacuum. My pool and I thank you for this video. Appreciate it

    Hello, thank you for the great videos! I replaced the bottom of my Poolvergnuegen with the conversion kit following your video. I reused the swivel hose connector and skirts per the video. I also replaced the tires with new ones. It travels as before and does suction but a bit slower, and it leaves tracks that are as wide as the skirts are. It does not seem to climb up as high as it used to. Per another of your videos i emulated the positioning of the weights and installed the original throat size from my old unit. ( Again, thank you for your videos. They are great! )I have checked the skimmer baskets and i do have suction where the hose connects to the side of the pool. Any suggestions ? Thanks.

    Hello,
    First let me just say I love your videos. Need your expertise. Need to replace my Kreepy Krauly and after your videos I am very inclined to try the poolcleaner but I want your opinion on whether your preference is the 2 wheels or the 4 wheels. To give you more info our pool measures 12'x24' with the deep section measuring 5' deep. I was told the 4 wheels will have more climbing power but I wanted your opinion. Lastly would you pick the pool cleaner over the aquanaut? Thank you in advance for your opinion!!

    I got the poolcleaner and set it up using the port on the side of my pool, where I used to run my old vacuum.
    This thing is constantly getting to the shallow end of the pool and getting stuck at the stairs. It won't turn to go a different direction, eventually goes back a few feet, but then right back into the stairs and not going to the rest of the pool. How do I fix this? Plenty of hose and suction.

  • @komotion
    @komotion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video series, thank you! Just got mine installed today and not understanding how adjusting the hose weight placement and throat size should be used for best effect. Maybe this warrants a dedicated video… I was surprised to find that changing throat size did not impact the wheel RPM. Will test some more tomorrow… I have a variable speed pump typically running at low (1750 RPM) sucking air from a pipe that connects to the skimmer and an in-wall vacuum port. I have a valve that can adjust suction between skimmer and vacuum, set to have skimmer functional while trying to maximize vacuum suction. I get about 7.5 RPM from The Pool Cleaner. Does not climb walls but seems to be working well enough, better than my old Navigator. Shall I run the pump (at least for some partial time) at higher RPM. Not sure how to think about optimizing performance… I appreciate any insights you may have. Thank you!

    • @SPL
      @SPL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the great feedback. It won't climb the walls very well regardless of the pump speed. I would say if it is working fine at the lower RPM there is no reason to run it at a higher speed during the week. A great cleaner.

    What are the big bumps on the tires designed for? To break suction every few feet? Does it do a better job of cleaning if the bumps are cut off?
    Thanks for all your videos, really have learned a lot.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are on the tires specifically so it won't get trapped on any main drain. The new anti-vortex ones in particular that stick up 1-1-1/2" or more on the pool floor. Also for pools where the main drain might be active, the hump will help break the suction. If your main drain is off and not anti-vortex you can try it without the hump. It will climb better and move around smoother. I would just wait until you are ready to replace the tires and just experiment with the soon to be old pair first and run it with the humps cut off and see how it does. The tires are patented for that very reason, I've had this cleaner in a pool where a Hayward Navigator would stick to a drain and a Kreepy Krauly to another and the PoolCleaner never gets stuck. It is a great engineered cleaner.

    I have this pool cleaner. In my small sized pool, the cleaner comes to the top of the water alot and sucks air. I adjusted the "floaters" on the hoses. I don't think the hose it too long but it may be. Any recommendation on how I can keep it from sucking air at the top of the pool water?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Float actually does nothing but keep the cleaner head balanced in the pool. The pool suction is probably the issue - it is set too high. Have you tried adjusting the pool suction to slow the cleaner down? Also if you have the 3 different Throat inserts, remove the "Medium" one and insert the "small" one.

    My older Pool Cleaner gets stuck at the steps at the far end of the fiberglass pool. It just sits there and spins until I move it. It also doesn't climb the walls like it used to. I've changed tires and it has fairly new hoses of the proper length.

      Suction side air leak.
      Look for lots of fine air bubbles entering pool or floating in the water, they attach to the cleaner and hose and eventually the air bubbles will lift it off the bottom.
      Most amazing thing ever to see happening (the power of bubbles), shake the hose and it drops to the bottom - if this happens you have a major problem with suction-side air leak.
      This can happen because the cleaner doesn't pulse or vibrate like other cleaners, so the bubbles manage to stay attached.

    what type of cleaner do you recommend for a small fiberglas pool with sqaure 90° walls.. can it climb up walls at 90° angle? suction type prefered because i have a side port.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That angle seems to step for this cleaner in my opinion. I would try a bouncing type cleaner like the Zodiac G2 - I use that one in fiberglass pools on my route without issues.

      Sounds like the gears may be worn out. After 6 years that can happen. if the hoses are still in good shape a "Lower Body Conversion Kit" would be a good idea. It is basically all of the vital parts and you will get another 6 years out of your cleaner.

    Why aren’t bouncing type suction cleaners the style anymore? I would think wheel type suction cleaners are more maintenance compared to a bouncing type cleaner. all you have to replace for example on a kreepy krauly is the foot pad and fin disc. A zodiac cleaner needs a diaphragm replacement every few months. But a wheel type cleaner you need to replace wheels ,tires ,gears and turbine. I don’t really understand.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geared cleaners don't get stuck in corners and steps so much superior to bouncing cleaners. Unless the pool is fiberglass, tile or vinyl - then the bouncing cleaners are better.
