I have the impression that Scoups wrote this song during his hiatus (recovering from ACL knee surgery). He mentioned on Weverse that he was struggling with being away from the members and not being able to participate in the Seventeen Heaven comeback activities and Follow tour.
there were haters on sns who said he was a coward for not resuming SVT activities when they saw him walking, not understanding that rehab from surgery takes a long time and it was already amazing that he was able to recover so quickly. And today, just less than 6 months after his injury, he is making his comeback (usually it takes at least 9-12 months). His willpower is admirable. 👏👏👏

Thank you for appreciating and reacting to Cheol. I love his voice, its full of emotions. I felt like I’m in the roller coaster of emotions coz i was surprised and happy when he suddenly released this then when the song started i felt the sadness and raw emotions on his voice then i felt the anger of thinking there are really some fans who sometimes cross the line and forget that they are humans with feelings too. They may have stage persona as being Scoups of Seventeen but it doesn’t mean that we have to disregard him being Choi Seungcheol. I love all his sides and how real and beautiful he is inside and out. Thanks again!

I really love this song! I have listened to this on repeat a lot. I cried when I first heard to it and idk why but I cried when you guys were reacting and interpreting it. It's amazing! And I agree this feels like a real personal song, he is being so vulnerable here. But it is very relatable too!~ Also I love his voice! Amazing! He sang this with such feels man!

I feel like he gave us a piece of his heart, but the language barrier... I always wanted to learn more. I could only hear his emotions. I wish he finds comfort with whatever he's going through.
There are so many idols that wrote lyrics and were very open abt this "identity crises" if I may call it that. The main one that comes to my mind that even made a documentary about the struggle is GD a.k.a Kwon Jiyong and I recommend watching it! Totally worth it! 💛

The lines where he was putting emphasis on “lies”, and the deep breath he took when singing he couldn’t say anything, he couldn’t do anything were just perfectly delivered for me. The emotions are powerful and I felt them. This song is a masterpiece! S. Coups is awesome!
