Great tour of the area, I’m just amazed at the avionics in all these GA AC’s. If it keeps up you’ll be having auto butt wipes in there😅. As a note I did Pyro for 30+ years as a side job, till I was 72, the the long hours and bumping that equipment around jus got to me. But it was fun I got to work a couple movies, 3 Olympics, and 5 Super Bowls. I can’t remember how many firework shows. Along with that I did the driving of all the stuff so first end last one back home, many trips across the US.. I’ve been thinking about coming back and trying sports aircraft, but the weight limits and HP, has me thinking this may not be the way to go, I’m 6’2” and hitting 250#, don’t leave much room except a small skinny gal. 😅😅😅😅 keep it buddy I’ll keep watching. Another point on the avionics, I would have to spin a lot of hours in a Sim to get my brain to think digital and get out of the analog mood. When started using digital firing in the Pyro it took me a little longer than them young bucks. 😵💫😵💫🤪🤪
I’m really enjoying your videos. I’m a Dakota owner also. I have the 201T. I appreciate you willingness to acknowledge Jesus. Are you going to Osh this year?
I appreciate that nice comment.Congrats on your 201T. Me and JESUS made a deal a long time ago so I'm keeping my end of the bargain! Michelle and I are wanting to go to Osh but haven't made any definite plans yet. But if we do go we won't land at Osh Kosh, somewhere close by.send some photos of that Dakota when you get a chance.
I am about a week out from getting my Dakota. It needs a panel upgrade. Luckily, I have a decent budget for it… lol I hope. What would you suggest? So far, I really like the Garmin packages. I noticed you put some of those items in yours as well. I am planning on getting my IFR with this new upgrade. Thx
Congrats on that new Dakota! I chose Garmin so my avionics would mostly be the same. I think the 500 autopilot is the cat’s meow. That being said I needed either a g5, 275, or the G3x touch. I wanted the g3x touch but I also wanted the 650xi as my navigator so I had to choose because of my budget. My goal is to keep one of the G5’s for my backup attitude indicator, and stick a g3x touch at some point. The good news for me is that I really have everything I need especially for a very good IFR platform. Send me some photos of that new bird along with your chosen avionics suite!
I am not sure how to upload a picture. If you have an email address, I will sent some pictures. I am just getting it with the original six pack etc… I still need to find a shop for the new install. BTW… it is a 1989 Dakota and it is so beautiful. I took it for a test flight and made an offer after I landed. The seller accepted and we are in the process of an inspection. I am certain it will pass with flying colors.
Is it also capable of auto piloting the plane like 100 ft above touchdown point? So let's say you're at 5000 ft above airport, will it fly outbound , do a 360 turn etc, to lose altitude and make sure you don't come in too high/low ?
Only on approaches, if you activate the smart glide it will just keep circling the airport advising the pilot to take control. No matter the altitude if it senses the closest one is behind you then yes it will turn you back. But on smart glide the altitude is up the the pilot.
Another, great video, sir! Very informative.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you again for watching my videos.
Can't wait to try it out when I get mine back. Love the cup holders!
Thank you sir!

I'll bet you will find a good fit for you, some of those light sport planes have got more room than a cirrus.
