some of the members went on to form the black/death/thrash band Evil Warriors, another ended up in the Galician folk music group Sangre de Muerdago... he was also before in a crust punk band called Ekkaia, in their music you can hear his distinctive guitar playing style but in a different context
The slow-down on the seconf half of the last song bored me and ruined the album. Why do bands always end their songs and albums in the blandest way possible? Arde did that on Ancestral Cult. The album was perfect until the seconf half of the last song, a section they should have just cut. So many metal bands do this and I wonder if its done out of terrible songwriting or low-IQ pretension.

This was my favorite album 2018, my personal AOTY. It's a pity they broke up right after.
at least they quite while at the peak of their powers... I was lucky to see them live just before they folded

I disagree that the melodies are generic, I found them refreshing.
this is why I like them, they represent that expansive forests-and-paganism type of black metal but done right... lots of boring stuff in that niche
