Not a purchase per say, but I bought a Sirenic Armour and wore it BEFORE augmenting it. Then i stood there like a Dummy wondering about what i just did... I used to be such a big noob, now I'm a slightly smaller noob :p
the part you said about cutting yourself short is very true, I realized it myself some time ago that I'm purposely preventing myself from being able to do high lvl pvm
The way i see it, money is a highway with 3 different paths. 1- Things you NEED, like gear/weapon upgrades and PVM supplies. 2- Things you WANT, like the Aurora Dye or any Cosmetic Item. 3- Things that are nice to HAVE, like BIS weapons/armour, perks and all unlockables. With that picture in mind, the best way to spend money (not only in game but in general), is to find the balance between those 3 and giving priority to the things that are most important to purchase at the moment. Like new underwear instead a new 240Hz monitor :p Or in RS terms, Blightbound Xbows instead an Aurora Dye.
My idea is this: I buy the cheapest upgrades first, then upgrades that don't cost money per hour to use, then upgrades that do cost money to use, in that priority order. That way I get upgrades faster, which helps my kills p/h faster than the other ones. Sure, EOF is great and all, but if you have other stuff to upgrade that don't cost as much per hour to use, that's probably going to help you more early on, and then save up for EOF when you're out of options to upgrade to that are cheaper to buy and use.
I had a cry about not being able to do AG HM because the core mechanic would kill me often. I bought gconc and literally never had a problem with that mechanic again. Really did open my eyes as to where most of your power is in your build.
You didn't mention Seed Bags.... Seed Bags can store 40 Seeds at max capacity, this means it will potentially save 40 Bank Spaces if you choose to have seeds which the average RS3 player does. I bought the components for a Seed Bag for around 30m in December 2022 as some components buy at well over the GE price but it's totally worth it especially when you factor in how much 50 Bank Slots cost which is literally 10 times that price in bonds. From the time of posting this, I slow bought Calcified Fungus for 10,000 each or 5m for a total of 500 needed It does take Level 85 Crafting to make it but even if you are saving a few Bank spaces or Inventory spaces, it's well worth it. Not gonna lie but this is easily a 100m+ item for Players that aren't into Bossing but come across Mobs that have Seed Drops, the other useful and underated Item is the Herb Bag. Just gonna add that you can "farm" all the components but I spent money to save on the time for doing that :P
The best way to make money is not to spend money, another way I like doing thing is say I need overloads, i'll buy overloads packs on the market for the highest price, then sell it for the lowest i'll then buy them at that low price and do some skilling in the mean time, can always sell any excess I bought for a profit or i'd just make the overload stuff myself
Thank you great advice I always use math to determine how much I make per hour doing the bosses that I kill or whatever skill or whatever fighting I'm doing and calculate the cost of my combat supplies
I bought red santa hat for 230k that i earned by killing hill giants for big bones for months and sold it for 400k to finance full veracs set. And thats not the end of it. Then got scammed when seller changed veracs helm to skirt during trade. Helm was like 2m and skirt 400k. This was lile 15 years ago and still in my mind 😀
My buddy and I have been trying to do pvm. I'm definitely not ready for it been working on crafting skills to go to invention currently but great video kind of good to know that it's not the gear that's the problem. Like my prayer is at 37 I think. I just need to work out the details in skills and get those abilities that carry the raids.
Never merched before until like 2 weeks ago I finally tried and im mad i didnt long ago lol. Started with 40 + a 40m drop so 80 and im at about 250m now and thats just merching Ive been pretty burnt out so Ive just been trying to save up for a t90 mage weap
Very good guide on letting us know to get out of our comfort zones to use new and expensive gear XD I think that is totally me where I end up not doing some of the high level PVM bosses since I think the upkeep is too expensive! But I think I will listen to your advice and try it soon someday!
I have supreme overloads, 99 summoning, 96 prayer with curses and t90 gear for almost all styles. But I don’t know shit about invention or Archeology. And I have 81 invention and 80 archeology. I also have like 60m to buy perks and stuff. Is the enough to start getting good perks?
Look i have a really great example of this, on mainscape i have a max melee setup and obviously as a max player i got ovls, arch relics and summ familiars. Then i started my FSW journey and since i camped Arch Glacor on main so much i am very familiar with it. So on FSW i got myself superior vesta armor and stat helm, Sup vesta longsword and off hand elder rune longsword. Gear wise this is T88 on average. So Pretty good gear right? Well i tried a couple kills at AG hardmode with 0% enrage. And it took me about 7 minutes to get a kill, IF i even managed a kill because curses were not there, overlaods were not there i was boosting my stats with super sets, familiars were not there. My stats were 90 atk, 95 str and 90 defence and this setup did not work out at all even tho my gear was hella good! This just goes to show how important overloads and curses really are. On mainscape Arch Glacor is a joke for me up until atleast 500%, and after that if i focus a lil it's still a breeze.
I just got my archeology to 95. So I need to focus on perks. I've grabbed gconc and I have t85 wand/orb, full virtus, full gano, kinda not sure what else to grab, I know greater chain has its uses but is it worth 1b? are seismics worth the upgrade right now, or should I hold for the inevitable crash? I feel a bit paralyzed by all the choices I have.
Greater barge, flurry, fury, greater chain, magma tempest, grico, affliction and malevolence are all buys I regret. Hmm also elite tectonic and fsoa was a bad buy. Also going for actual bis perks was a bad idea. Basically I should have gotten just cryptbloom with bis perks on that set, seismic with bis perks on that, and just used that with gconc. I enjoy pvm,but most of my money comes from flipping and merching. And I should probably not have spent more than maybe 15% of my cash at any one time on pvm upgrades. Most of those upgrades I rarely use, and the money could have been used much better elsewhere.
Hello I'm new to RS3, I was wondering ppl are trading with friends for no return but when I try, system requires me to list items that is equally valued. Can you not gift friends for free anymore??
I’ve been slacking on invention. Absolutely hate archaeology. Only been playing for 8mo. Hi.I have maxed combat/prayer/summoning. Ranged does well with the respective bolts and ascensions. Melee is ok with soa and Zaros god sword. My mage really struggles even with the the staff of sliske. Animate dead is nice, but the dps is trash with melee and mage. Been thinking about the EOF next. I have elder overloads. Always keep those stocked up and other supplies. All the mazcab abilities. From this video it seems perks and relics are my bottle neck. I don’t even know what ancient invention is. Will look it up. I strictly solo via mobile. No clan or friends.
I would honestly try to find a clan. Not only do they provide great help on combat and skilling, you can pvm with them. If Discords' your thing many clans have one to guide you.

yeah sure man I'll just buy the 880m codex before I start bossing because I absolutely have that kind of money just sitting around before even hitting endgame
Think you missed the point on that one. I was saying if you have 880m to spend youd choose greater ricochet over something less powerful of the same price. I recommended skills before you start bossing not a 880m ability.
