Good gouge. You actually answered my question about memory mode back into a high or turbo output.

the reason why they have memory for lowest mode is part of their safety and to conserve the battery so that when it is "accidentally" switch on in your bag, backpack compartments e.g. while you are doing activities so it doesnt drain out your battey when you need it. furthermore, as it is turned on the light generates high heat both from the led and the battery, which can cause fire and injuries. I always set mine to lowest mode as precaution. I had my older version flashlight from nitecore that turned on while i was hiking in my backpack and i start to feel something burning on my back.

Nice video. I'm trying to find the best headlamp for Search and Rescue, not easy.

I would suggest for search and rescue that you have a nicely illuminating headlamp for traveling as well as h high throw flashlight for spotting... more like a 2 light system

Zebralight and skilhunt make a variety of headlamps you might like.
