@pianistmark1121 He he he. I remember my choir mate saying the same exact thing...making a sad face whenever he sang "tayo'y magsaya".
At any rate, after reading the composer's notes, I think he was going for "solemn". The problem with "solemn" is that sometimes it really sounds "sad" or even "melancholy".

@chinchin05 Yes, I believe you may use this version. If its any comfort, this was written by a priest especially for the Easter celebration. And don't worry, I checked the phrases--they match. Iba lang ang pagka-sabi sa ibang instances...but they essentially mean the same.

Beautifully sung, thank you! I'm learning the bilingual version and your recording makes some of the pronunciations much clearer. Do you know if this song has an "official" English translation? I know it's PS 117/118 but am not sure what parts mean which lines. I'm hoping to give a translation of the non-English lines in our handouts.
