@@bobbywastaken Bug is a strong word, per see, but it's still an unintended feature. Overclocking your heart was never really meant to happen during normal gameplay, but if you do it right, you can achieve faster blood circulation, letting you heal faster than other players. The issue is that the heart entity can end up triggering the anti-lag feature and hanging it up until another entity interacts with it, which you do not want as the heart is what keeps other vital organs alive.

I just find the in-canon implications amazing. CJ pulls up to a college (?) at 5 in the morning, gets off his motorcycle and drinks 220 Liters (58 gal) of Sprunk over the course of 47 consecutive hours before his reality fractures completely and is destroyed.

A quick Google search says that one can of Sprunk is 800 calories. CJ chugged 496,800 calories worth of gamer sludge in less than a day.

Technical info for nerds:
This glitch actually exists in all versions of San Andreas, including the original PS2, Xbox, and PC versions. This glitch happens because the model of the Sprunk can stays inside the vending machine after CJ drinks it and it doesn't despawn unless CJ leaves the area. The game keeps track of how many objects can be loaded at once, and each can takes up a slot. Since each can never despawns, each can takes up one space in storage. After a while, this causes the game to crash, due to all of the slots in memory being filled up with Sprunk cans.
You might be asking why Joel's save is "corrupted":
The Definitive Version's auto-save feature just so happened to auto-save the very moment Joel drank the final can, which caused the saved object slots to be filled up. This made it so the save file would permanently have its memory filled up, causing a crash on load.
Believe it or not someone else discovered this bug years ago and patched it for the PC versions of the game, the modder's name is Silent and the fix is included in the Silent Patch for San Andreas.
Yet another example of auto-save fucking up spectacularly.

You cannot make up the incredible timing of the crash. After like 40 minutes of drinking Sprunk, it really crashed on the perfect drop in Eye of the Tiger. The best art is created by pure accident.
This stream was pure gold, the amount of broken shit happening, plus the save file corruption after a 40 minute soda marathon. seeing it all live was a privilege.

That’s every Joel stream when a game crash is involved
He started at 6221 cash money and ended at an even 5600, so CJ drank 621 cans of Sprunk. An average can of soda is 355ml. We can conclude that CJ drank about 220 liters of Sprunk. Since it's a Sprite parody, we can assume that its nutritional values are the same as Sprite, which means that CJ has drank around 90200 calories, and 217.8 kilograms of sugar and carbohydrates.
To compare, the recommended calorie intake for your average man is around 2500 calories, and the recommended sugar intake somewhere around 24 grams of sugar. This means that CJ drank about 3608% more calories than recommended, and *9075000%* more sugar than recommended. But wait! In-game, it takes around 5 minutes for CJ to buy and drink a can of Sprunk, meaning that CJ drinks about 12 cans per hour, which can be used to calculate that it took CJ around 51 hours and 45 minutes (or a little over two days) to drink 621 cans. Thus, we can halve the resulting percentages to 1604% over recommended and *4537500%* over recommended.
Except this doesn't really matter since CJ would have started suffering from overhydration within the first hour of drinking and very likely died soon after.

Final can as the game autosaves at the worst possible moment (see Harper's comment about the technical info as to why this happened, if you don't want to, basically the models for the sprites get stored inside of the vending machine until CJ leaves the area and they despawn, these take up memory until the memory fills up and the game crashes. The autosave also kept these cans loaded in the memory, and autosaved exactly as the final cans were drunk, causing the memory to constantly be full on that savefile, thus preventing it from being loaded. I'd still advise finding Harper's comment if you are still interested in the technicalities.)

Excluding $0, the 7 buttons that the player can select to add to their betting money are the only numbers that can be added to the current bidding. If the player attempts to select a button for a bidding price greater than the player's own wealth (for example, $100 when the player only has $90), it will not allow for the rest of the player's money to go towards that bet. $5 is the minimum amount required to bet.

Comparing with the nutritional facts of what it's parodying (Sprite), a can, according to the official site, is 140 Calories.

@@jamiehughes5573 not the entire game, just the save, according to someone with more knowledge about the game, apparently all of the sprunks Joel drank never de-spawned because he didn't leave the area, and so the game crashed due to memory/object storage issues, then the game crashed every time Joel tried to load it because the auto-save chose probably the worst possible moment to save right before the original crash.
Granted, Joel was being completely dumb to make that happen in the first place, but it still shows the devs didn't really bother optimizing the game to avoid the issue since those empty cans have no business existing that long.

Quick Maths! There are 330 milliliters in the average can of soda, 5 liters of blood in the average human body, and each can of Sprunk costs $1.00. If you subtract the number of money Joel had at the start of his Sprunk binge ($6212.00) from the time it crashes ($5600.00), you end up with $612.00 spent on 612 cans of Sprunk. If we multiply 612 by the number of milliliters in the cans (330), you get 201960 which then converted into liters is 201.96. That means CJ drank 40.39 persons in soda.
Tl;dr, it's no wonder CJ permanently died and it's also no wonder why Rockstar won't be receiving my $60 plus tax this year

I have a nice spicy guess as to how the Sprunkening happened here, Yo-el.
I'm assuming that all of those stacking cans of Sprunk aren't being de-spawned properly by the engine and are just continuing to persist in the game world until you move away from them. So they just keep stacking up until the engine experiences an overflow of some kind. Then the engine saves during the crash, and when you try to load again it's trying to load 500 cans of refreshing, game crashing, Sprunk again.
6,222 minus 5,600 = 621.
He drank 621 cans of Sprunk, which crashed the game and corrupted his save.

Finally catched a Joel stream. He did nothing but drink Sprunk, only for the game to crash after ~650 cans of the fizzy goodness. His save got corrupted and everything went to waste. Great entertainer he is.

I think R* recently refrenced this with their current GTA Online event where players have to drink a combined 100 million sprunk and eCola cans.
On a serious note, the whole 47 minute Sprunk drinking thing gives me Stryder7x Paper Mario vibes.

so GTA has a system were if you eat unhealthily you get fat and move slower and if you do healthy activities the opposite happens. THAT variable is dynamic and dynamic variables in old, short, or indie video games often have a fixed limit that, if surpassed, will cause the game's logic to panic and loop back around to the negative extreme (eg: limit = 255, X value = 255, X value + 1 = -255 ) this would break the game because the game devs would never expect for anyone to reach that value, and rightfully so as getting unhealthy is easier than getting healthy. so because the devs didn't plan for that, CJ's model is being modified by the health value to a point were the game can't properly generate him and thus crashes.
But that's just my theory.

A treasured moment I'm honored to have caught live. All I was doing was jamming in the chat playing NES games on mute so I could hear the bopping 80s jams and then suddenly, we crack open the Eye of the Tiger and the entire universe gets Sprunked. I remember that day I had to take off my shirt and turn on the fan, and raise the volume while barely stifling cackling able to wake up my whole continent. I gotta say I find it cool there was a song that sounded like Ken's theme in Street Fighter 2

(drum players, including SpongeBob, misunderstand what Squidward means, so they blow on their drum sticks, which blow out and stick Squidward to the wall) Too bad that didn't kill me. (Next scene) Let's just try stepping in rhythm. Now I want everyone to stand in straight rows of five.
SpongeBob: Is this the part where we start kicking?
Squidward: No, SpongeBob, that's a chorus line.
Patrick: Kicking?! I want to do some kicking! (Patrick kicks Sandy in her leg )

When he sits down, he plays a loud blare as the trombone slide goes down and opens his mouth, then when the note is over, he looks down with his head straight)
Narrator: Day two. (band walking down a street playing)
Squidward: Okay, that's perfect everybody. Bubble Bowl here we come. Flag twirlers, really spin those things. Okay, turn. Flag twirlers, let's go. I wanna see some spinning. Flag twirlers let's move!!! C'mon, move!!! (flag twirlers spin fast and fly into the air and explode when running into a blimp. Trumpet player plays "Taps", then Squidward lies down on street, curled up in a ball)
Narrator: Day three.
Squidward: How's that harmonica solo coming, Plankton?
Plankton: It's tremendous! Ya wanna see? {runs to his harmonica and plays the first note. Runs along and plays another note. Runs down and plays three notes at the same time. He gets tired and walks slowly to another note. Has trouble playing it. Falls down and spreads saliva}
Narrator: Day four.
Squidward: Well, this is our last night together before the show. And I know that none of you improved since we began… (Patrick chews on a trumpet) …but I have a theory. People talk loud when they wanna act smart, right?

(Instantly a piercing loud horrible sound from the instruments breaks the windows apart and causes a small earthquake. Squidward's face is deformed like a Picasso painting and his baton breaks in half.) Okay, new theory..... Maybe we should play so quietly, no one can hear us.
Harold: (Australian accent) Well, maybe we wouldn't sound so bad if some people didn't try to play with big, meaty claws!
Mr. Krabs: What did you say, punk?!
Harold: (Angrily) BIG, MEATY CLAWS!
Mr. Krabs: (Turns his eyes in anger) Well, these claws ain't just for attracting mates.

SpongeBob: No, people. Let's be smart and bring it off.
Nancy: Oh ho, so now the talking cheese is going to preach to us.
[ALL ARGUING]
Squidward: Wait, wait. I know tensions are high. (everyone gets into a fight. Pilar and Larry are yelling at each other. Medley slams a drum on him.) There's a deposit on the equipment, people! (everyone uses their instruments as weapons. Mr. Krabs and Harold charge with clarinets like a joust but they slow down as Mrs. Puff slams them with cymbals.) Settle down, please. (Sandy and Frank are fighting. Sandy destroys Frank's xylophone by chopping it with a drum stick and he runs away. Patrick furiously kicks Sandy, and Sandy glares, turns red and snarls before grabbing a trombone. Patrick screams and runs off as Sandy chases him and the clock sounds at 10 and everyone stops fighting.)
Fred: Hey, class is over! (they all walk to the door making up their fight where Squidward slams them open)
Squidward: Well, you did it. You took my one chance at happiness and crushed it. Crushed it into little tiny, bite-size pieces. I really had expected better of you people. I guess I'm a loser for that, too. Don't bother showing up tomorrow. I'll just tell them you all died in a marching accident. So, thanks, thanks for nothing.
Patrick: You're welcome.
SpongeBob: What kind of monsters are we? That poor creature came to us in his hour of need, and we failed him. Squidward's always been there for us when it was convenient for him. Evelyn, when your little Jimmy was trapped in a fire, who rescued him?
Evelyn: A firemen.
SpongeBob: And Larry, when your heart failed out from all those tanning pills, who revived you?
Larry: Some guy in an ambulance.
SpongeBob: Right. So, if we can all just pretend that Squidward was a fireman, or a guy in an ambulance, then I'm sure that we can all pull together and discover what it truly means: to be in a marching band.
Harold: Yeah, for the fireman!
All: Hooray!
SpongeBob: Now let's make Squidward proud. A-one, a-two, a-skiddleydiddleydoo.

Squidward: I knew this was going to happen. They're just going to have to find another band to play. I just hope that… (sees Squilliam) …SQUILLIAM DOESN'T FIND OUT! SQUILLIAM!! AH! What are you doing here?
Squilliam: (laughs) I just wanted to watch you blow it. So, where's your band?
Squidward: Um, they couldn't come. They…died.
Squilliam: Then who's that?
