I had been watching these videos and wanted to make sure I could Identify the cutt Throat from the rainbow as I am a rookie fisherman. All the videos I saw and it was said on one of the videos the Cuttthroat all have Red marks on there gills ( I wanted to take a couple home and cook them for dinner (as my grandma use to always cook us trout. Her and grandpa loved to fish and Bach in 70’s and early 80’s they fished a lot.) the Bear lake Cutt throat do have Red gills BUT doing my research I found Strawberry also has the Bonneville cuttthroat do not have the Red gills. Most of the cutthroat you catch will be 15-22 inch and need to be released those Cuttthroat look like a German Brown and you can definitely tell when you catch one they fight harder for sure. The trout you have to be careful and watching the bite so light when fishing with power bait you will miss it but they are fun to catch too. So fun when you see them down in the water and reeling up to you.
Plenty of areas to bank fish. I used to fish the southern end of the lake quite a bit. You can still use the same baits/lures. You can retrieve like a swim bait or jigging retrieve. I’ve caught numerous nice fish this way from the bank and early mornings are the best. Once the summer days heat up they move deep by late morning. Later evenings can also produce some decent fishing.
Do you know where and how I can catch largemouth bass not too far from north Ogden. I’ve been trying for largemouth for like 4 years and never caught one.
Thank you for the video. Being new to fishing where can find the minnow bait you were talking about? I tried Amazon but it looks like they’re all for bass. Thanks 🙏🏻
Great videos. Your advise actually works! Thank you!
So glad to hear!
Great Video. Thanks for the detailed explanation of your patterns.
I had similar experience with the big tube jig. I had to down size to a smaller presentation to start catching then.
Interesting! Those big tube jigs have worked for years. Maybe the fish are catching on…
Awesome video! Is there cell service there?
For me, there is in most places (AT&T
I wonder how a fly rod would have performed?
I’ve had a good time with a fly rod before!
