I've had More 1's for two years, and I'm generally pleased with them. Wind noise, hair noise, which Wind and Handling Stabilizer addresses, isn't a major concern for me. Sudden Sound Stabilizer is, however, important to me. In some cases, loud sudden sounds can be extremely uncomfortable, particularly with the music program (FYI Oticon says SSS is is disabled, by default, in MyMusic, but can be re-enabled by the audiologist).
A friend is considering the More as her first hearing aid. I've suggested waiting to see how the Real shakes out over time.

I'd be interested in your assessment of the sound signature of the Real. I've recently demoed the More and came away unimpressed.

I will get the Oticon Real in the next few days. Are my first hearing aids. I am currently wearing the Oticon More as a test device and I am very satisfied. I live in Germany.

@@HearSoundly So I've had the Oticon Rear for a few hours now. I did a short test at the acoustician's. When you run your finger over the microphone with the More, it makes a noise like being in a storm with an unprotected microphone. With the rear, the noise is still there with the first swipe, but is already more muffled, with the 2nd swipe the noise is completely natural. Just as you would hear it without any equipment. Even my acoustician was impressed. But I'm also his first customer with the rear. Tomorrow I can do the first real stress test at work. There we also have sudden, loud noises from time to time. I will keep reporting.

I'm still in the test phase. I've already tested a few. Will be my first hearing aids ever. All I can say is that the sound is the most natural I've had in my ears so far. For example, went to a very noisy restaurant with my family and my brother's family. The music and the people were very loud, but I still understood everything. But I can also hear details, such as the turning of a wheel on a computer mouse, from a distance of 5 meters. I'm excited.

Oticon doesn't do Cross well. Getting digital distortion when playing my guitar. Been back for adjustments a few times. The final solution: Turn cross off while playing guitar. My left ear is deaf, and my right ear has at least 60% loss, I am close to being completely deaf. I am no slouch when it comes to playing guitar. I've worn hearing aids since 2006, and Cross systems since they were invented. Never had a problem with Phonak, and other brand Cross systems, just Oticon. As well as there are other artifacts introduced into the sound, even now as I type. My guess is I have a lousy "Doctor" of audiology that doesn't have a clue what they are doing when making adjustments. Although, to her credit, the last time I was there she called support and it was their suggestion to turn off cross when playing guitar. Ridiculous. So far Oticon is a highly expensive and miserable hearing aid system. I am sure it's my fault for having hearing loss right? That always seems to be the case, user error, although the user has no access to making adjustments.
