I am so greatful y'all make these videos! My hair has been neglected for a few years because of the situations I've been in and I'm trying to get it back healthy
How do you deal with a head with various porosities? My crown is definitely high porosity and the rest of my hair is normal porosity. My crown is always dry and itchy and breaks easily
My natural hair characteristics are Curl type 4A/4b Density medium, fine, thick Porosity low Elasticity High That's all my curly hair characteristics 💁🏾💁🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I've tried to determine my porosity and I'm still confused. I did the float test, the strand test and every test left me confused. My hair takes about 3-5 minutes to get wet, dries within a day and after moisturizing it only last a day or two and not to mention the frizz. My hair is now salt and pepper and dealing with the grey has added more problems. I'm about to wave the white flag or throw in the towel.
It can be tricky to determine sometimes especially when you take into account how your density and texture can also affect how quickly your hair dries, how long it takes to saturate, etc. For cases where it’s harder to really determine your porosity, I recommend doing your best to cater to your other important characteristics, mainly your density and texture. These can also guide you in determining what types of products to use and how to use them to start seeing results in your hair. I hope this helped, thank you for watching and commenting! 💕
Mine confuses me too. My hair gets wet fast, takes two days to dry and stays moisturized for a week. It’s the getting wet fast and frizz that confuses me. I do twist outs but if I do a wash and go it dries out the day after. It loves a good balance of protein and moisture.
My hair was low porosity but since transitioning to salt and pepper I'm unsure. It's hard to determine since it only takes about 3-4 minutes to get wet and only 5-6 hours to air dry. I don't get a lot of tangles and being gray I can't see if the water or products are absorbing or just sitting on top. Now that I'm transitioning to gray it might be easier to go back to relaxed hair because at least then I would know I'm high porosity.

Curl Junkie Repair Me changed the game for my HP hair. A 5-10 protein treatment every 6 weeks. My hair has NEVER held moisture the way it does now.:)
I’m going to have to look into that product, it sounds amazing for that porosity! Thank you for watching and commenting! 💕

Hi there, my hair has similar characteristics. I have high porosity hair. I use protein regularly and I moisturize my hair every other day. 😍
