Jailbreaking is definitely in a bit of a slump right now for iOS 17. Having said that, there's always hope. Apple's newer iOS 17.1+ updates patch a kernel vulnerability that could aid in the creation of an iOS 17 jailbreak. With that in mind, it's best to stay on as low of a firmware as possible. AVOID UPDATING and pray for a new jailbreak. I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Honestly, I'm just hoping sideloading gets revamped in general everywhere rather than just in the EU. That's literally the one thing keeping me from considering iOS "perfect" (just in the sense that most of the stuff from Android I consider useful would be on iOS), and as someone in the States, I'm really hoping that we don't get screwed out of proper sideloading just because our government isn't putting as much pressure on Apple as the EU.

I may be one of the few here who, as a jailbreak enthusiast of old, no longer has a missing feature in iOS worth jailbreaking for. My last jailbreak was in iOS 15, I think, and even then it seemed unremarkable.
Same, I’ve personally outgrown the need for a jailbreak, life has gotten busy and I have too much to do with work to have time and don’t have much need anymore

At this point I think jailbreaks are dead for new iPhones but older iPhones are definitely worth jailbreaking

Yes that's how Apple devices get restored. So even in the event you get a boot loop you can go into DFU and restore the firmware
