Honestly, I am inclined to believe this woman. One, the timeline matches the story and she kept most of the details. She was also able to give details of the ordeal and how she was coerced to do what the man did to her. But my question is why did she not see the signs when he was demanding money from her all the time that she had fallen for the juju..... Well, this is one the reasons why most of the men and women from Ghana in the diaspora don't come down and marry. Well a lesson well learned.

This is clearly a situation of a woman who entertained a guy for 3 years keeping him on the back burner hoping she would find someone better. When that didn't happen she ran to Ghana to marry her next available option, him. The guy on the other hand was cunning enough to play his cards well and took advantage of her. There's no juju here, your poor sense of judgement and spur of the moment decisions caused this mess. Chalk it up as a loss and move on.

@@estherbnkansah6575This isn't a straightforward case where she reports the guy and he's put on the next flight to Ghana. the issue of a marriage of convenience was for immigration to determine at the embassy stage when she was filing for him to come to the US. USCIS saw it as a legitimate marriage that is why he was giving a green card. And even if she did report, she herself could be scrutinized for marriage fraud. All she can do now is file for divorce which she clearly doesn't want to do.

But the guy can also preempt her and report for abusive relationship. The burden of proof is on the guy, which may be very difficult for him.

The issue here is that most Ghanaian women abroad barely support their partners who are also based abroad but will rather sponsor irresponsible men in Ghana. They take those of us already here for fools. Gradually, gradually what goes around comes around. Everyone will feel the pain at last. A woman who sponsors a lover or partner financially has about 80% chance of shedding uncontrollable tears particularly when the man in question has not previously made sacrifices for her. This lady has legitimate reason to suspect that this " husband " is a fraud whose sole reason for marrying her is for green card. Under the INA 275(c) It's a federal crime to marry solely for the sake of green card."Fraudulent Marriage " This is a federal crime; felony ( very serious crime punishable by huge fine or long imprisonment ). On the other hand ,This gentleman can also use 1994 VAWA [ violence Against Women ] Act which also applies to men to defend himself Note ...he may have to prove that he's continously been abused by this lady. He may have to provide police reports and if possible court order or ruling ie, Order of protection. Even though, this gentleman has his green card according to the lady, his and the daughter's stay is derivative. If the lady can prove that the young man married her in bad faith just to acquire a green card, he and his daughter's permanent stay could be revoked and deported back to Ghana.She has a lot of legal options. The danger is ,if this youngman is a vindictive type, the whole issue is going to be radioactive.
