A legend... Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in Paris at the age of 74. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. In 57 years of career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 songs were turned into music videos or scopitones. 758 authors and composers collaborated with Johnny. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten pieces for other artists. He also wrote and co-wrote a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that he was heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the "patronage" of Line Renaud, he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victories or Special Victories or Music Honor Victory. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 110 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No. 1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny went on more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career, having given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost complete works have been recorded in audio and video. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 10,000 members in total). Johnny is also an actor with no less than 43 films (including appearances) to his credit throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin" award in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films they offered him were not good films, unfortunately.. He dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life had other plans, and fortunately so!! Johnny was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was close to his heart, in 2002 he performed a magnificent song against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road. He couldn't resist and adopted her; the little dog is named "Cheyenne." He also sang a song that evokes the brutal repression by Chinese authorities of the Tiananmen Square protests in June 1989; the song is titled "Tienanmen" from 1991. He was a man with a big heart. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a knight of the Arts and Letters since 1995. He has sung in several languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese and German). By listening to his songs, you will realize that this great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone: rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock, soft rock, pop rock, rockabilly, country, a rock opera album (Hamlet) from 1976 (This album was ahead of its time). A unique voice... His voice has continued to evolve over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world!! He brought together the rich, the less wealthy, and the poor. He brought together several generations. He gave exceptional concerts, with wild entrances like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, entering from the back of the stadium and parading through the crowd for three consecutive nights. (no one had done that before him). and he did it again in 2013 at Bercy, in 1998 he arrived by helicopter above the Stade de France, in 1984 at the Zenith he emerged from a giant hand (they had to break a wall to get the hand above the stage), in 2012 at the Stade de France he arrived in a giant flying ball resembling a mine, which landed on stage, and so on. Here are some songs: "Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe, Si tu pars(2005), Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre, Ça ne change pas un homme, True to you, Tien an men, Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Moulin à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence, Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Made in rock'n'roll, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, J'ai pleuré sur ma guitare, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Essayez, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom(duet with Carmel), Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, J'ai épousé une ombre, Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Parties de cartes, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Te manquer, Noir c'est noir, Love affair(duet with Kathy Mattea), Une lettre à l'enfant que j'étais, etcccc And many others.... 💯💣🗯💫🦾💪💥
Ok I will try to give the full context of this fantastic performance: • Johnny : the most admired singer in France from early 60s to 2017 when he died. He is the Elvis of France, sold more than 110M records WW. A real power house, here the mics were balanced to favor Lara as he wanted her to shine. • The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police ( and the dogs 😀), having killed his girlfriend. • The venue/event: Johnny’s concert in Stade de France ( biggest stadium in Paris and France) in front of 80,000. Lara was the surprise special guest. They did perform this 3 times in a row. The scene was outside and it was raining, which just added some dramatic effect to the whole performance. • Lara: she was at the beginning of her career in France and this performance became legendary and accelerated her fame there.
@@suzare6070 I recommend you to explore the performances of both but especially those from Lara. She has many great songs, in different languages, with very different vocal approaches (some are very delicate ) but always with an unique ability to emote and grab you in the story of the songs. Plus she is a wonderful soul, very humble and benevolent. She did went through a lot of difficult moments but kept the same positive approach with her fans and people in general.
On this third and final performance, Lara's microphone sound was at its maximum (it resonated much more unlike the first two performances) and Johnny's was lower. We can clearly hear the difference when comparing it with the first two performances. It was Johnny who asked for it to be done like that. Lara was his guest at the Stade de France and he wanted her to demonstrate her vocal power and shine. Lara herself confirmed it. Johnny in all his generosity... Know that Johnny was also a vocal powerhouse but on this last performance he didn't want it because it was done on purpose, Johnny was very intelligent in doing that to make the song more dramatic and show their acting on this magnificent song that belongs to him. The desired goal was the dramatic side of the singing all in power but less than Lara (Johnny) with both next to him a more striking vocal power (Lara) and the passionate acting between the two. Everything was imagined by Johnny himself to end this last performance in style. A masterpiece, perhaps the most beautiful duo in the world.🎉💥💣
Amazing what a choir and some violins can do huh 😘 This is so intens. Gets me teared up every time. Laura is Just the best. I think you did Je suis malade. If not, you should!
More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, an epic collection of masterpieces that became classics and were covered by the greatests. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these). Out of my mind I can list: • Adagio, • Mademoiselle Hyde, • Know, • Love of tired swans She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ». And she covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva) They also performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina. This is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs: • Floor Jansen (Adagio), • Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), • Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), • Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), • Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), • Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), • Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow) • Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade), • Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), • Forestella (Je suis Malade), • .... Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara. If you explore more of her songs, you will soon be hooked, I'm sure.
Amazing reaction my friend...I have seen your reactions to Dimash, the best male singer of the world...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable, the Goddess Lara Fabian...Lara is the best female singer and performer of the world...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control, which is one of the things that Dimash admires the most about Lara...She speaks 5 languages and sings like in 12 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see on TH-cam covers of her songs made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Forestella, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Morissette Amon, Rimar, Gabriel Henrique, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....th-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/w-d-xo.html
This was an epic, powerful duet in my opinion. Johnny wanted Lara to shine and she definitely did. More reactions to Lara on your channel would be great.
Thank you for your positive reaction to Lara and Johnny. Please review more of Lara's work from the excellent links you have been given. I hace subscribed and look forward to your next Lara experience.
Resembles an opera performance. Very intense as Lara usually is. Lara is still absolutely amazing. I think she is Belgian originally and immigrated to Quebec in Canada. Thanks for an intense performance.
@@cristinamarchigigante1049 her passport nationality was Belgian initially correct? And then she moved to Canada where she lives today. Perhaps North Americans have a different way of thinking about this since we have so many immigrants.
Idt we've listened to her in a live stream but I'm going through all of his live streams and if I find a song by her then I'll send you that link also 🙂🙂
She is able to speak fluently Italian, French, English and Spanish (She also writes/composes in all these languages), she is also able do speak a bit of Portuguese, Russian and Flemish. She is able to switch from one language to another very quick in the same song, because she has bilingual songs, she blends languages in the same song, like Spanish and Italian, English and French. She sings in 12 languages. There's a vídeo here on youtube "Lara Fabian singing in 12 languages (Live). You would be surprise. ;) She sings in hebrew, Portuguese, Russian perfectly with bo accent. She is also trained in bel canto since she was 8 years old, she stayed at the Brussels Royal Conservatory for 10 years, she plays piano and guitar, she composed 80% of her songs, in many languages, as I already mentioned. She has been colaborating as a vocal coach at the The voice France and Canada since 2007 or something. She is doing this again in 2022, There's a lot of vídeos showing her teaching her pupils at The voice Canada this years and years ago. Welcome to Lara Fabian's world, a Master in resonance, breathing control, powerhouse and emotion all together. Her known vocal range D#3 / G#6. I would recomend you to react to this video, please. It was in 2010, she recorded an entire dvd /concert at Kremlin HUGE Thatcher. She also sang in Russian there. The audience went crazy. Thank you. th-cam.com/video/q7UPDnmPmW8/w-d-xo.html
Johnny Hallyday: Belgian who came to France for the sake of his music career. Went to live in America as well, where he even died. Lara Fabian: born in Belgium. Father was Flemish, mother was Sicilian. Went to France for the sake of her music career PS Probably born in the same hospital as I have, that's Etterbeek in Belgium.
@@genzalarboa3110 You're right, the confusing came because his father was a Belgian. Real name of Johnny Halliday was Jean-Philippe Smet, his father named Léon Smet who was in een relationship with the French Huguette Clerc. Johnny had family in Belgian as well, that was my confusion. Thanks for correcting me.
I recommend you a Spanish singer, her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdon" she is a singer who sings different musical styles. With a very particular voice and incredible melismas. Greetings from Spain
Johnny Hallyday(Jean Philippe Smets) was actually Belgian but a french national treasure. He died in 2017 and he was given a state funeral attended by the President of France. His career lasted 57 years and he sold over 110 million albums worldwide. 👌👌
His father was belgian but he was born in France and french himself. He did try to apply for belgian citizenship for tax reasons at some point but this didn’t go to completion. All the other statements you made are completely accurate
hello, Johny Hallyday is dead now, and was a show master in France, rocky voice well known, and you add to him Lara Fabian with NO AUTOTUNES , just real singing, real singing, the magic of a real voice, a great singer with singing techniques mastered to perfection I have few things to say about this video. Some people can think the gestures are exaggerated. You have to put in context. This is a live concert in a stadium with 90 000 peoples, in a rainy day. You have to do this, so anyone can get the message.

The arrangement, the choir and the orchestra and all the setup was top notch. Too bad that Johnny was, well... not a very good singer. Maybe a charismatic guy but... But what it comes to Lara, that's another story. She has this powerful side too and this is a good example of that. She is just super in everything she does. Perfectly throwing herself to the role and once again she nailed it. She simply is unbeatable singer.

Here are some songs:

Best duet ever!!!❤❤🎉😊
Ok I will try to give the full context of this fantastic performance:
• Johnny : the most admired singer in France from early 60s to 2017 when he died.
Thank you Eric for the biographies of these two amazing singers. I had heard of Lara before, but not Johnny. I liked them both very much.
She did went through a lot of difficult moments but kept the same positive approach with her fans and people in general.
....just make sure you watch Lara's Live performances as they always trump her studio versions
She Is Amazing dramatic singer
A masterpiece, perhaps the most beautiful duo in the world.🎉💥💣
Lara Fabian explained in an interview that she worked for three weeks to prepare this live performance. When you see the result, you can believe her!
So many songs to discover from Lara and Johnny ,and more french epic singers too..we can help.Have a nice day.
Ma Lara non è francese origini italiane e non si capisce se in Belgio o in Danimarca ognuno ne inventa una . Madre r padre siciliani questo è certo .
Amazing what a choir and some violins can do huh 😘 This is so intens. Gets me teared up every time. Laura is Just the best. I think you did Je suis malade. If not, you should!
À huge concert in a stadium in Paris full of fans. It was raining so hard UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT. A MASTERPIECE 🎶🎤👏🏻🤘🏼
More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia).
She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Out of my mind I can list:
• Adagio,
• Mademoiselle Hyde,
• Know,
• Love of tired swans
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
And she covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva)
They also performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
• Floor Jansen (Adagio),
• Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime),
• Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie),
• Morissette Amon (Broken Vow),
• Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace),
• Cakra Khan (Broken Vow),
• Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow)
• Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade),
• Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow),
• Forestella (Je suis Malade),
• ....
Johnny Hallyday, the only one, the best.. the last rebel.. How much we lack.. Wonderful!!! ✌️✌️✌️😢❤❤❤
This was an epic, powerful duet in my opinion. Johnny wanted Lara to shine and she definitely did. More reactions to Lara on your channel would be great.
Inoubliable Johnny Hallyday !!! En duo avec Lara Fabian c'est un moment suspendu dans le temps...
Mrs Lara Fabian is Belgian with Canadian citizenship.
@@PauloBono1978 so then I was correct. Thank you for the confirmation.
she's half belgian and half italian with canadian citizenship
@@cristinamarchigigante1049 her passport nationality was Belgian initially correct? And then she moved to Canada where she lives today. Perhaps North Americans have a different way of thinking about this since we have so many immigrants.

This was very powerful. You've reacted to her back in 2019. I'm glad she's back 🙂

Went to France for the sake of her music career
PS Probably born in the same hospital as I have, that's Etterbeek in Belgium.
johnny halliday was born in paris, france, he never had belgian nationality
@@genzalarboa3110 You're right, the confusing came because his father was a Belgian. Real name of Johnny Halliday was Jean-Philippe Smet, his father named Léon Smet who was in een relationship with the French Huguette Clerc. Johnny had family in Belgian as well, that was my confusion. Thanks for correcting me.
I recommend you a Spanish singer, her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdon" she is a singer who sings different musical styles. With a very particular voice and incredible melismas. Greetings from Spain
I love Diana Navarro, a beautiful woman and a great singer. I remember her also, hearing Charlotte Summers on a TV Show with great reaction

All the other statements you made are completely accurate
bullshit. he's french. grown up in paris
@@jessyjess6380 that’s what I said
hello, Johny Hallyday is dead now, and was a show master in France, rocky voice well known, and you add to him Lara Fabian with NO AUTOTUNES , just real singing, real singing, the magic of a real voice, a great singer with singing techniques mastered to perfection
I have few things to say about this video.
Some people can think the gestures are exaggerated. You have to put in context. This is a live concert in a stadium with 90 000 peoples, in a rainy day. You have to do this, so anyone can get the message.
3:22 and 4:58 : wrong translation in subtitles : "I lovED her (so much), so to keep her, I killED her".
Have u ever react to " ne m’appelez plus jamais France " ? From michel sardou .

They made a better live version of this song
The arrangement, the choir and the orchestra and all the setup was top notch. Too bad that Johnny was, well... not a very good singer. Maybe a charismatic guy but... But what it comes to Lara, that's another story. She has this powerful side too and this is a good example of that. She is just super in everything she does. Perfectly throwing herself to the role and once again she nailed it. She simply is unbeatable singer.
Johnny n'était pas un très bon chanteur ?!
