The Lake District National Park website is reminding everybody to stay local which is fair enough but all rather frustrating when you can see it but you can't touch! Nice video Robin! Lovely deep snow, and good to see people out enjoying it. I wouldn't mind getting up a hill or two just now, but tbh I'm not sure what the boundaries of 'exercise' are. For me the big hills are right on my doorstep, but I've seen how much stick some have got (and fines, for those Oban guys who needed rescued), so I'm reluctant to risk it. I might chance Ben Stack, that's a quick wee one 🤔

Definitely safer to have them on, think we've all been guilty of not putting them on then finding bullet hard snow and need them. That's less likely in the Pentlands and Sidlaws mind you.

Its Tickety Boo's in Dundee I don't own the pub I just run it but have done for 15 years so feels like mine. Its a very friendly wee pub with great locals and because of its location we see loads of tourists. That looked a chilly one if ever I've saw one.
We've had nothing like that here on the west coast (Ayrshire and Glasgow) as far as I've seen. Definitely mirrored glasses weather too.
A quick one on your Kestrel, does it require batteries or does the wind turning the impeller power it?

Cheers Jimmy, weird you're not the only to mention the lack of snow over in Ayrshire.
The wee Kestrel takes a CR32 coin battery. You'd think they could manufacture one that works on wind, that battery has lasted years, so doesn't need much power.
